It's a big one!

Hello all, it's been a bit! (9 months, and almost 1,000 development hours since the last release.. neato.) 3.0.0 has been delayed time and time again, and the fact that this is a prerelease is indicative of the fact that it's still, unfortunately, not quite done yet. I'll cover the specific missing bits later on, but we're namely waiting on making sure Clockwork and our new foundational space mod (of which we've done too much custom worldgen to switch from), Cosmic Horizons, are updated, along with a snazzy new logo Valkyrien Skies update that should improve stability for a proper release. Why wait though? Mostly for stability as mentioned above, but that stability will enable our dedicated server to run especially smooth after some further testing, which is also where this prerelease comes in. We've only had a limited amount of testers available over the past few months, but to ensure that it succeeds properly, documenting and resolving as many issues and inconsistencies as possible is vital to ensuring Inquisitive is the best it can be!

If you can test or stumble across any issues or feature requests, make a github issue or go to the discord to write a ticket/ask about it in FAQ! We need all the community help we can get.

Enough preamble though, let's get into a (brief) synopsis of some of the reworks (the pack description, while currently unfinished and slightly out of date also explains quite a bit of the featureset)

• Revamped GUIS across the board
• Mix of Ad Astra & Cosmic Horizons space travel, integration with physics/vs through Starlance
• Boatloads of quality of life features
• Too many custom recipes to count,

• In-house retextures of plenty of items
• Ambiance is revised through textures and particles galore
• Custom planet worldgen with more planets to be added/structures over time
• Tons of integrated social-oriented features like radios, media players, chat systems
• Lore-integrated mechanics that target Inquisitive's unique flavor
• Documentation detailing many featuresets (due for updates!)
• Revamps of many vanilla mechanics to adapt to a modded environment and improve upon the base
• REI separated from over 200 pages of items into under 10 via item categories

Much of Inquisitive has been rebalanced, rerevised, and rewritten- with much more on the way -this being the last major release before 3.0.0's development cycle.

This will be the last major release before 3.0.0, but the server will still be up for a while! You'll know when the time is nearing for the reset (sometime this upcoming late spring) I'm working hard to perfect what I can and sweep up what's needed for a polished product.

Performance sweep!!

One of the longer waits, the Moniker update is geared towards significant boosts in performance. From major entity, item, rendering, booting, debugging, internet, and even an Nvidium port for Nvidia graphics cards that singlehandedly recovers so, so much threading geared towards chunk rendering. Lots of groundwork prep..work, here.

Player Interaction

Chat Channels, such as /chat local, /chat global (look for an #🌔faq description for further elaboration) Nicknames, Name colors, bios, nametag improvements, decent looking speech bubbles, sitting & crawling, emote animations, emoji (with eventual discord server emoji importing) among many others, expression is due much more now.

QOL

Plenty of fixes for many old issues, minor gui rework on the way to expand drastically in coming updates as polish rolls out- Particles are particularly much nicer, both on the eyes, and the backend, along with resolving missing/broken textures & assets, featuresets that don't fit the pack, along with finally, finally, adding Architect's Pallete. Gah how I've missed you.

Alt info!

Pressing Alt and hovering over a block/entity tends to give you more info, along with generally useful things (as opposed to using f3) such as the coordinates, cardinal direction, day, among others!
