This modpack is best enjoyed with friends, but offers a challenging and enjoyable singleplayer experience as well. Local voice chat and radios allow for in-game communication over long distances, but it will require some set-up. A multiplayer revival system exists, which allows you to save your friends amidst challenging battles, but will be disabled in singleplayer. (recommend enabling "instant respawn")
Horror Perfected aims to create an uneasy, visceral, and uncomfortable experience in comparison to vanilla minecraft.
Littered with grotesque monsters and guttural wails and screams from various beasts and monsters, the goal of the modpack is to bring you no comfort throughout your time in the world of minecraft.
Aside from plenty of changes to mobs on the whole, you will also be immersed in the world by making it more realistic. Some highlighted features include:
- Increased texture resolution on blocks and mobs with gritty textures aimed at semi-realism (Patrix 32x and some "realistic mobs" resourcepacks)
- Enhanced graphics and dynamic lighting
- True Darkness mod and a custom datapack to make darkness a constant factor, contributing to both difficulty and horror. Beware the oceans.
- Nights can be accelerated by sleeping, but not skipped entirely. Be careful how many days you pass, who knows when the next horror will emerge?
- 2 "infection" mods aimed to create a constant, growing threat at all stages of the game. It will feel like you can never truly cleanse the world of impurity. Can you push back the growing tides of horrific monsters?
- Random events to create pressure on you no matter where you go. You'll be under constant threat from every manner of monster.
- Many more mods for optimization and enhancing realism, engrossing the player in the environment as much as possible was a massive goal for this modpack.
Combat is going to be more challenging than your vanilla minecraft experience. Mobs are smarter and use their equipment to greater effect. Additionally, some mobs can break blocks, so no home is ever totally safe.
Good luck! Fight to survive more than 100 days, but beware what the hundredth day may bring into your world- that is- if you don't release it yourself first.

Added Mods
String from Plants
You can now use plants like grass, vines, or ferns to craft plant fiber string. Just make shears and collect them to get plenty of string!
Patchouli
A new guide book has been added for the modpack! It is really simple for now, but I may expand on it later. For now, it lets new players know how to open the quest and level up menus!
Cosmetic Armor
Armor can now be hidden or over-ridden with the preferred textures!
Mobtimizations
This should significantly reduce the impact of large amounts of mobs on your CPU and memory. Hopefully it will prevent bad lag with large hordes of zombies.
Modified configs
Undead Nights
Made consecutive waves in one horde night more rare. Previously it was possible (although rare) for upwards of 100 zombies to be spawned in 1 night. This should no longer occur.
Reduced the health and damage of horde zombies, as well as removed them from the natural spawn pool. No more base griefing outside of horde nights. Spend your time preparing so you aren't overwhelmed! Demolition zombies should also no longer spawn.
DISCLAIMER
Due to the way the config works for the horde zombies health and damage values, any worlds created prior to this update will still have the old values.
To update the config manually and continue playing your old save, simply go to .minecraft/defaultconfigs and copy undeadnights-server.toml. Go to .minecraft/saves/[your save name]/serverconfig and copy the file there. If prompted, click "overwrite" to replace the old file with the new one that you copied.
If you didn't know how to copy world saves before, you now also know where to locate your world files. Your file from "saves" can be copied from one profile to another to move over old world files to new versions.
BE AWARE THAT IF YOU PLAY AN OLD WORLD ON A NEW PATCH I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THINGS GET BROKEN. Mixing and matching mod versions is volatile, so do this at your own risk and make backups. Happy Horror-ing! :)

Config Changes
- Removed "You Have My Axe" quest due to a bug (Finally!)
- Fixed an issue with first person melee attacks rendering 2 sword models at once.
Added mods
Copper Spikes
Pretty self explanatory- adds copper spikes which can be crafted with 6 copper ingots. When placed they deal damage to mobs on contact. When placed on walls, they act as a ladder so you can climb out of your own trap pit when you inevitably fall in.

I think it is safe to say the mod is stable at this point. No weird crashed with long play sessions or anything like that.

Removed Creepers
They were spawning too frequently and it was annoying for everyone who playtested the pack, including myself.

Too scary!
Config Changes
Hardcore Torches
Re-enabled torches in the inventory being extinguished when becoming fully submerged in water. Torches in the inventory will still be protected from the rain, so long as they are not in your hands.
Scent Awareness
Scent Awareness makes mobs follow the scent of blood and sounds that the player makes.
- Disabled functionality for most vanilla mobs, but added a bunch of flesh mobs to the list. Some flesh mobs will now sense sounds you make and blood splatters on the ground and come to find you.
- Removed detection sound cue. I believe that this mod was causing various mobs to make zombie sounds when detecting a player. It was annoying the hell out of me and I couldn't figure out why it was happening. Hopefully only zombies will make zombie sounds now.

Simple Voice Chat
Turned on a setting that allows you to hear your own echo when in caves and other echoey locations. If you wish to disable this setting, locate the Sound Physics Remastered config (minecraft/config/sound_physics_remastered/soundphysics.properties) and disable the very last setting called "simple_voice_chat_hear_self=true" by changing "true" to "false"
Added Mods
No Chat Reports
No chat reports is a mod that disables minecraft's chat reporting feature which runs in the background and tracks all chat logs in your minecraft servers. This will allow you to speak freely without fear of being kicked automatically for accidentally tripping the censorship filter.
A secret new horror mod
You might hear some new sounds to hopefully disturb you or your friends, especially at night...

Added "Door knocker" which will randomly create immersive knocking sounds, especially at night. They are 3D audio rendered and come from the doors themselves. The mod may also randomly open your doors from the outside, creating a sense of someone else messing with your world, and preventing you from having perfect safety simply by placing a door. This events are rare, so it shouldn't cause a ton of trouble, but feel free to disable this mod if you play for extended periods and the novelty of the mod wears off.1.6.6-UРелиз1.20.1 · 12 мая 2026 г.

Roots of Fear
The treant will no longer spawn on the first night and the grace period between appearances is longer.
Hardcore Torches
Some QoL changes that make torches less likely to be accidentally extinguished by rain or water. They now have to be in your main or offhand to go out, and they will smolder in the rain instead of going out completely. This does make their light go out, but they will burn less fuel and can be relit by right clicking them with a flint and steel. Obviously, if it is still raining when you relight them, they will instantly begin to smolder again.

EDIT: KNOWN CRASHING ISSUE !!!
Disable/remove mod "fastmove." It is a staple mod that allows parkour, I will intended to repair the crash or replace the mod with an equivalent, but for now this version can be played without it.
This is an UNSTABLE release! That means it has not yet been playtested and may have LOTS of bugs I haven't gotten around to crushing yet. Enjoy at your own risk! (It's pretty worth it) I recommend that you don't try to open any worlds from the old releases unless you don't care if they break. Some worlds may be perfectly fine, while others could break completely and become unplayable.
BIG update today!
I was able to successfully update almost every mod in the pack to their newest compatible versions. Playtesting is needed to ensure that there are no major crashes in unexpected conditions, but I've been able to load and play for short times with no crashes, I plan to play a long session and do some limit testing with the new version soon.

Was causing model-related crashes after updating the pack, I think for some reason it doesn't like the newest version of geckolib.
This is a VERY big update for this modpack as a lot of the updated mods have plenty of new features, a couple of mods worthy of mention

Massive reworks to a variety of the horde's features including but not limited to

- Enhanced raid functionality
- Bug fixes (BIG)

- New Debug Features (for me, yay!)
LevelUP
Two completely new stats to level up!
Wisdom -
Increases XP gain Minecraft XP (more enchanting!) LevelUP XP (More stats!)
Intelligence -
Makes you more effective at maintaining your equipment, your tools and armor will break slower (functions sort of like the unbreaking enchantment for all of your stuff) Increases the duration of beneficial potion effects!
I'm sure there are TONS of other content updates I haven't even seen yet, so hop in and start experimenting with the newest release!

Grim and Bleak
Adds a limbo dimension. I will not spoil it any further than that.
Root of Fear
Adds a new random event where a massive monster will spawn, an over mutated denizen of the pale garden has escaped and will rampage through your base extinguishing any light it can find. Keep the fires burning or risk annihilation at the hands of this brutal foe
HandheldMoon
Adds a couple of new light sources to help combat the choking darkness of Horror: Perfected. The Full Moon is a brilliant orb of light that casts bright, white light up to 16 blocks away with no drop off. The full moon can be stuffed into a tube with a lens and used as a flashlight, illuminating the night in a cone up to 32 blocks away!
Smooth Third Person Camera
Added another camera mod to make third person feel a bit more immersive. We'll see how it feels, may remove it later, idk.

Hardcore Torches
This mod has been having big issues with campfires not receiving fuel correctly. I asked the mod author to fix the issue and he did his best. One of the mods in my pack seems to be conflicting with it, I just don't know which one yet. In the mean time, you can toss the items on top of it and sneak-right click the campfire to consume all of the fuel at once. Once the campfire is fueled, simply right click again to ignite it.
Balance changes:
Undead Nights
Again rebalanced undead nights. I made the early hordes unable to dig through stone, but they will still tunnel through soft blocks like wood and dirt. There are now 3 tiers of difficulty, scaling over time. The later the day, the stronger and larger the hordes. They will eventually be able to break through stone again, starting around day 20.
Fixed an issue in the config for TFTH that was causing flesh mobs to have more health than intended.

UndeadNights horde nights
Fixed a config issue where horde nights were guaranteed to occur every night. Added a random grace period of 7-10 days to prepare for the first horde and a grace period of 6 days preventing back-to-back horde nights. This will result in the hordes being significantly less threatening than I originally wanted, but should still require preparation and care to handle safely. They can still be very difficult to survive due to their ability to find and reach the player almost anywhere.
The Flesh That Hates
Redistributed flesh mobs stats to favor health over damage. Most mobs are now tankier, but mobs that would frequently one-shot you will now deal much more reasonable amounts of damage. Additionally made the flesh brute more relevent as it is now a much more capable tank. It will be hard to take down a brute amidst a horde of other enemies, and the brute will continue absorbing damage for nearby flesh mobs for much longer.
Incubators especially are MUCH healthier, they will be very challenging to kill off early on due to their natural defensive capabilities. You will still need to take care to curb their spread early on, but it may be favorable to opt to burn the flesh out, rather than address the incubator directly.
