About
Scarcity adds options to make resources a bit more scarce, including configurable hunger values, nerfed falling block physics, limited water bottle pickup, and seeds for trees and crops that are missing them.
This mod was created for my modpack, Desolate Planet, but the features it adds will hopefully be useful to other modpacks as well.
Features
- Configurable hunger and saturation rates
- Hunger depletion rate from:
- Movement, including walking, sprinting, jumping, swimming, and more
- Attacking and taking damage
- Global exhaustion gain rate
- Optional passive exhaustion drain
- Regeneration, including:
- Fast and slow regeneration rates
- Hunger level thresholds at which fast and slow regeneration occur
- Hunger depletion rate during regeneration
- Hunger depletion rate from:
- Limited water bottle pickup, consuming the water source block and filling four bottles at a time
- Falling block breaking adjustments, giving them a chance to break and partial blocks they land on (chance is based on the broken block's hardness)
- Seeds for various plants that normally would not have them (these are intended for modpack makers on skyblock-style maps and do not spawn or drop naturally)
- Seeds for all vanilla saplings (oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, cherry, but not including non-sapling trees like mangrove, crimson, or warped)
- Seeds for foods that don't already have them (potatoes, carrots, and sweet berries)
- Seeds for other plants (cactus, sugar cane, and bamboo)
- Seeds for some other modded plants (currently just Farmer's Delight Onion and Thermal's rubberwood sapling)

- Added a NBT tag (ScarcitySunlightSensitivity) to control whether or not mobs burn in the daylight
- When the tag is true, the mob loses any fire immunity it has and burns in the daylight
- When the tag if false, the mob does not burn in the daylight, even if it normally would
- If the tag is unset, vanilla behavior happens as normal

- Fixed some more waterloggable blocks (ladders, fences, signs, stairs, slabs, etc.) converting flowing water into source blocks when placed
- Water bottle pickup mechanics now match bucket mechanics more closely and no longer create infinite water from waterlogged plants
- New Thermal mod patches when enableThermalPatches is turned on
- Thermal machines now ignore crafting remainder
- Thermal machines now ignore fluid NBT when matching fluids

- Added a config option to disable water-loggable plants from being placed or growing in flowing water, converting that water into a water source block
- Fixed a bug where bottles would set to air instead of using standard fluid pickup methods when picking up water in waterlogged blocks.
- Falling blocks with low hardness below 0.25 no longer break the partial blocks they fall on

Added attributes to control regeneration speed, for use by modpack devs. Patched a bug with Thermal's machines and mods that change item stack sizes. Stacks of multiple water bottles will no longer be treated as 1 by Thermal machines.

Fixed an issue where ThirstWasTaken allowed harvesting from flowing water blocks, overwriting Scarcity's bottle pickup adjustments

- Fixed some incompatabilities with Thirst Was Taken that caused hunger exhaustion and thirst exhaustion to become negative and stop draining the hunger and thirst bars.
- Removed control of health regen exhaustion due to incompatability with other mods (mostly Thirst)
- Added MixinExtras for safer value replacement and swapped out modifyConstant uses
- FoodData mixin now runs before default priority mixins
- Added configurable clamping of exhaustion floor, allowing very low exhaustion values due to overflow bugs to be repaired
- Negative exhaustion clamping applies to Thirst Was Taken thirst bar exhaustion as well
