What is Valkaw?

Valkaw is a high-performance modpack forked from Sliwed Optimize. We're constantly updating it to squeeze out better frame rates and fix issues, ensuring the project keeps moving forward smoothly.

Core Features

We've focused on three main upgrades to make your game lighter and faster:

Fastest Performance HUD
Powered by Hudder, FlexHUD, and CustomHUD, this displays the stats you actually need without hogging your resources.

Smart Resource Manager
We use FerriteCore and "Put A Plug In it!" to keep your RAM usage in check. Plus, EntityCulling uses your CPU to calculate what you can see in real-time, skipping the rendering of anything hidden behind blocks.

OptiFine Features
Missing Zoom or Dynamic Lights? No problem. With WI Zoom and LambDynamicLights, you get those familiar features back, now running on the faster Sodium or VulkanMod engines.

Main Optimization Mods

Valkaw offers two different rendering paths depending on your hardware. Choose the version that best suits your system!

1. Sodium Edition (Standard)

The standard, highly compatible optimization route using the OpenGL API. Perfect for most users and supports shaders.

  • Sodium: The absolute best modern rendering engine for Minecraft.
  • Lithium: General-purpose optimization for game physics, AI, and block ticking.
  • FerriteCore: Significantly reduces the memory footprint of the game.
  • EntityCulling: Skips rendering hidden entities/tiles to boost performance.
  • Iris Shaders: Seamless, high-performance shader support (the best OptiFine alternative).

2. VulkanMod Edition (Maximum Raw Performance)

A wildly powerful route that completely replaces OpenGL with the Vulkan API. Incredible for squeezing out the absolute maximum raw FPS. Requires Vulkan API 1.3.

  • VulkanMod: Rewrites Minecraft's renderer to use the Vulkan API, drastically reducing CPU overhead and boosting FPS.
  • Lithium: General-purpose optimization for game physics, AI, and block ticking.
  • FerriteCore: Significantly reduces the memory footprint of the game.
  • EntityCulling: Skips rendering hidden entities/tiles to boost performance.
  • Beryl: A mod that provides shaders like Vibrant Visuals, created specifically to improve the realistic gaming experience with VulkanMod.

🚀 What's New & Updates

  • ⚠️ Warning: Do NOT update Sodium. Updating it will cause Iris and other dependent mods to crash when you start the game.

⚙️ Performance & Configuration

  • PotatoRender: Offers stable performance out of the box. If you need higher FPS, use PotatoRender to adjust graphics quality.

    • Note: The default value is currently set to 0.65. You can restore or modify this setting via the in-game menu (default is 1.0).

  • Java Arguments: Custom Java arguments are enabled for experimental use and better performance. If you encounter crashes or stability issues, feel free to remove them, but make sure to also remove Oxizidium, because this mod uses those Java args and will cause crashes without them.

  • VulkanMod Update: Updated VulkanMod to 26.2_dev3 (thanks to Collateral). This build addresses several issues present in dev1 and dev2.

⚙️ Performance & Configuration

  • PotatoRender: Offers stable performance out of the box. If you need higher FPS, use PotatoRender to adjust graphics quality.

    • Note: The default value is currently set to 0.65. You can restore or modify this setting via the in-game menu (default is 1.0).

  • Java Arguments: Custom Java arguments are enabled for experiment and better performance. If you encounter crashes or stability issues, feel free to remove them EXCEPT for:

    -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+EnableJVMCI

  • Beryl: Omitted from this release as it is still under active development.

  • Update to 26.1.2, with latest version of VulkanMod, Beryl and development of Not Enough Vulkan (pray for the dev)
  • I'm planning to minimize the number of mods in this modpack; currently, there are quite a lot of mods, and I think I added some without checking for duplicate features.
  • Optimizing the number of duplicate mod features will reduce file size and improve game performance for low-ends PCs.

  • I used Workflow to automatically publish to Modrinth, so now you can check out the Sodium or Vulkan edition.
  • This version gives me around 400–500 FPS during normal gameplay, though it may drop lower when there are a lot of particles or entities on screen.

  • I WAS FORGOT THIS VERSION
  • Now update it :> next day is 26.1 (dont ask me where is 26.1.1 or else)
  • Very good performance, around 400-500 FPS while playing survival
