Minecraft: Steam Deck Edition

Hi everyone! The 1.21 is finally here and we should be over with the infamous 1.20 which added many new features (and breaking changes). Time to clean everything and start over with a clean modpack. It took me time to finally push this update since I was waiting for YUNG's Better Mods to be updated (no hard feelings Yung, your mods are among the best).

I'm currently experimenting with new mods or alternatives for those who were in the modpack so feel free to open bug reports or discussions on GitHub. You should see more minor differences in the world generation since I modified the way biomes will be generated.

My next goal is to improve the general feeling of the modpack, to really make all of you players feel like this is plain Vanilla. Please give me feedbacks and/or issues you might encounter!

Minecraft is currently being updated to 1.20.5, all according to what SlicedLime shared with us (https://twitter.com/slicedlime).

So, I decided to take some time to update Minecraft: SD Edition to 1.20.4 so you can enjoy the latest patches and additions.

I had to remove some mods but the port is done!

Hello everyone, it's been a while since the last update!

First of all, I wanted to thank you all for the support, the modpack finally reached more than 700 downloads! I'm so happy this project can be useful to some people, please feel free to share your suggestions or your feedback on GitHub!

The modpack being in a stable state, I went on other projects but the modpack is and will still be maintained. So, this update is only about porting the whole project to 1.20.2. Almost all mods were updated, excepted for the ones that couldn't be and were obsolete. For those ones, I had to temporarily remove them from the modpack.

As this is not a major update, you should be able to update and keep playing your worlds but just in case, please make a backup!

• Iris Shaders, you can now install shaderpacks to make the game more beautiful!
• Better beds to improve performances by changing beds renderer
• Exordium to improve performances by reducing HUD framerate
• Tooltip Fix to add wrapping on tooltips and preventing them for going off-screen

Minecraft: Steam Deck Edition is now playable in 1.20, the new current working version. 1.19 is still available but doesn't provide anything better than this version.

Minecraft: Steam Deck Edition is now totally playable on 1.19 (the current working version)!

✅ Added

• Added back Midnight Controls for controller support
• Added owo Library to improve stability and remove multiple error displays

• Simulation distance is now at 9
• FPS Optimization has been performed, your FPS shouldn't drop under 56 FPS at world load (except for the first time)
• Reduced joystick sensibility, both for X and Y axis
• Mobs and bosses are not displayed anymore when you look at them
• Chunks animation speed has been increased to reduce graphical glitches

❌ Removed

• Removed Controlify has been removed because of compatibility issues with Steam in Gaming Mode
• Removed Modpack Update Checker for now, it needs some modifications but it will be back in a later version
• Removed crashes when starting up the modpack for the first time

We're rollbacking the working version!

I had to make the decision to rollback the working version for now since some mods are still not up-to-date. Don't worry though, we're coming back to 1.20 once I consider the 1.19 version to be done.

• Added Chat Heads to get players' faces on chat
• Added Dynamic Music to change the music according to the place you are currently in (or the time it is).
• Added Lamb Dynamic Lights to introduce dynamics lights, a torch in your hand will now light the area around you!

• Reduced render distance to 11

• Cull Less Leaves should improve global performances by changing the way leaves are rendered, especially in forests

This version should be fully playable but still has some minor issues that might be game-breaking in the future. The release should come very soon (probably a few days after this beta is released).

• Steam Deck custom controls are fully working
• JourneyMap has been added in a primitive way (no mobs, no animals are displayed to keep the Vanilla feeling) but it may be removed totally in the future if players are not interested
• Jade has been added to display what the block or animal is when looking at it
• FancyMenu and DrippingLoadingScreen have been removed since there is an issue with Controllable
• Fixed fullscreen issue while in Gaming Mode
• Removed Connectivity mod for license issues
• Removed Herobrine
