Void Tales

A fix release. One mod is updated, nothing else changed. If 2.1.0 runs fine for you, this changes nothing you can see.

Missing letters and symbols

Some players were losing single characters in menus, tooltips and the HUD. A lowercase "f" would go missing, or a symbol would, and pressing F3+T shuffled which one disappeared.

The root cause is a Minecraft 26.2 bug (MC-308719). It shows up on Intel integrated graphics and on macOS, and it happens in a plain unmodded game as well. ImmediatelyFast made it much more likely to trigger. This pack shipped ImmediatelyFast 1.16.2, which carried a first attempt at a fix that turned out to be incomplete. 1.16.3 carries the real one.

If characters are still missing

Then you are hitting the Minecraft bug directly and no mod update can reach it. Two things help until Mojang ships a fix:

Options, Language, toggle "Force Unicode Font" on and back off. This rebuilds the glyph cache for the session.

Options, Language, switch to another language and back.

Both need repeating after a restart. Please report it if this is you, and say which graphics card and operating system you are on. It helps to know how far the Minecraft bug reaches.

Void Tales runs on Minecraft 26.2 now. Import this as a new instance. Your old Void Tales instance keeps working and is the way back if you need it.

Mods

Everything updated for 26.2, Fabric loader 0.19.3. 39 mods, down from 47.

Removed because they have no 26.2 build or did nothing on the client: Enhanced Block Entities, Indium, Model Fix, ModernFix, Noisium, StableCam, Tooltip Overhaul, ResQuake. CIT Resewn is gone as well, the new resource pack no longer uses CIT.

Visuals

Layer 2 is built on the current Conquest release, so blocks, armour and weapons are redrawn.

Void Tales gear keeps its custom models on Lite Visuals too. Before, the models lived in Layer 2 only.

The custom sky is back: starfield, aurora, shooting stars, sunrise and sunset boxes, End sky. It had been switched off since 2.0.5 without anyone noticing.

Clouds are off. They could not be made to sit right against the new sky.

22 sign textures were falling back to vanilla and are ported.

Menu text no longer shows empty boxes, and the Conquest banner in the pause menu and the header on the game menu are gone.

The title screen holds together on small windows again. The Wiki and Gallery buttons and the splash text sit where they belong instead of at fixed pixel positions.

127 MB, down from 186 MB.
