A while back, a Mojang employee posted what seemed to be a lost snapshot version of 1.1. Strangely, any attempts I made to reupload the .jar file failed, so this pack was made to recreate the version using assets pulled from the jar file.

Modpack Details

DON'T CLICK UNLESS YOU'VE PLAYED THE PACK ALREADY! It's best if you go in without any prior knowledge of what it has, trust me.

SPOILERS This pack pretty much completely reverts the game back to 1.1. This means no extra wood types other than Oak wood, early sounds, no new mobs, etc. While some modern minecraft stuff is still included (the Mace, ancient cities, etc.) most have been stripped back for the sake of accuracy. This also means skins & capes will NOT work. You will play as Steve and you will like it.

This pack also includes a bunch of QOL features I thought should've been in the game by now, such as little animations whenever you pick up items in the inventory, faster ladders, durability percentage tooltip, etc.


Also THIS IS A HORROR PACK. This pack attempts to creep you out as you play, through weird structures, events, and more. Be warned.

Quick patch

  • Fixed Glass Blocks being removed from the game (it was an accident I swear)
  • Reverted lava back to it's old texture

Big update today!

  • Updated village houses & desert pyramids - they now match 1.1. Desert pyramids weren't in 1.1 but I want to keep them because they're neat
  • Finally fixed meteor impacts not generating embedded in the ground, this was a hard one
  • Cleaned up the logs a bit, removing logs I found quite annoying.
  • Removed ice boats as boats were much worse in 1.1. I strive for accuracy (most of the time)
  • Fixed Jungle & Dark Oak blocks spawning in shipwrecks instead of oak only (logs are unaffected, it's fine, they craft into oak planks anyway)
  • Implemented "Saving level.." text from 1.1. This one was really annoying to finish, because of cosines & math. It is translatable though, in case I ever want to translate this pack to other languages
  • Reverted some textures back to what they looked like in 1.1.
  • Added achievements for obtaining Fire & crafting Monster Spawners because I forgot to lol
  • Hid the version text by default, you can still see it if you open up F3.
  • Reverted default Minecraft font to the one used in 1.1 (It's slightly different)
  • Removed a bunch of items that were unobtainable otherwise (Totems, etc.)
  • End cities & end ships are removed, and so are end gateways.
  • Rewrote end poem to follow the story of the modpack & updated the game credits to include a section for 12w02a
  • Added a new layer to Purgatory: the Infinite Library. It's a library that stretches on and on, neverending. You can find chiseled bookshelves that may have some cool stuff in them. You can enter the infinite library through one of the houses you can find in the first layer. As of right now, the infinite library does NOT have any hostile entities in them, but that may change in the future.
  • Renamed a creative tab
  • Stonecutters now use their old design from Pocket Edition. The crafting recipe also changed to reflect this. It is now crafted with 4 cobblestone, like a crafting table.
  • Chests can no longer be always opened
  • Disabled a ton of items that are from modern minecraft. Grimstone has been kept and can only now be found in meteorites to encourage exploration.
  • Added "Air" item
  • Sheep no longer drop raw mutton
  • Fixed removing kelp causing air pockets in water during worldgen
  • Added new variant of meteor impacts that are much larger.
  • Fixed placing logs causing it to jitter back to facing upwards.
  • End portals now have their old visuals (instead of the effect being screen-space, it's parallax)
  • End gateways are now disabled.
  • Ender dragon healthbar has been replaced with a custom coded bossbar. It's also accurate as well to 1.1.
  • Ender dragons now have their sound effects from 1.1 (They sounded like a player taking damage)
  • Battle Tower golems now have a bossbar
  • Short grass now generates much less commonly
  • Ancient Cities no longer spawn- instead, you can find some of the loot that belongs there in meteor impacts. (like Disc Fragments to make the Droopy Music Disc)
  • Adjusted the stats of Mithril armor. Also, alongside this, tooltips have been recreated (from scratch) to hide the useless attack speed tooltip. The lowered gravity on Mithril armor now shows correctly too.
  • Tweaked heavy core & breeze rod loot in battle towers

Big update!!!

  • Upon entering the Ghost Dimension, the random events system will now enter "Phase 2."
  • Removed Deepslate from the ghost dimension
  • Added a new ore - Mithril! Can only be found in the Ghost Dimension and is quite rare. It's an optional upgrade from Broken gear. (If you visited the ghost dimension before this update, you'll need to go to new chunks to find it underground.) Also, in case it wasn't obvious, you need a Broken pickaxe to mine Mithril.
  • Readded Iron Ore & Coal Ore to the caves in the Ghost Dimension.
  • Removed all extra cave biomes from the ghost dimension - it is all just one biome now.
  • Made dungeons unable to spawn in the Ghost dimension.
  • Broken Gear has had it's attack damage slightly nerfed, it went from 10 Attack Damage (unenchanted) on the broken sword to 9. This is to make Mithril more worth your time as it deals 11 damage on the sword.
  • You can no longer enter the ghost dimension from the End.
  • Removed the netherite sword icon from the Combat creative tab and replaced with a Broken Sword.
  • Made the ghost dimension play a unique track list of a bunch of Deadmau5 songs. (including unused ones meant for Minecraft)
  • Fixed Empty Players spawning high up in the sky.
  • Due to the removal of all cave biomes in the Ghost Dimension, Battle Towers spawning should now hopefully be fixed.
  • Fixed splash & lingering potions not throwing properly in the Ghost Dimension.
  • Readded unused Water block item. You can get it as part of a random event.
  • Added a new object that can generate around the overworld.
  • Readded Six-sided piston blocks
  • Readded cave chimes (can only play in ghost dimension)
  • Emeralds now generate in the Ghost Dimension and they're quite common. Villagers are quite hard to get large amounts of (they only spawn in igloos), so sometime I'll be adding another use for emeralds. Perhaps as a decorative block?

  • Bedrock is now breakable using a Broken Pickaxe, and only a broken pickaxe. Trying to break it with any other tool will result in the block immediately reappearing.
  • Added a new dimension, the Ghost Dimension, accessible by jumping into the void in the Overworld or End. You can leave the ghost dimension once you're inside by building up to above Y 120.
  • Alongside the ghost dimension, some unused mobs were re-added. You can find them there.
  • Removed Random Event 39
  • Fixed some issues with the default settings.
  • Removed Herobrine

In the future, the Ghost Dimension will be updated to include new memories and other neat stuff.

  • Added four new random events and fixed one so it actually works properly now.
New events & fixed ones (spoiler) Random Event 36: Gives every player in the server 20 seconds of Bad Omen.

Random Event 37: Opens a nearby door around a random player, and plays a slowed down door opening sound.

Random Event 38: Deals 5 damage to a random player and gives them the Jumpscare effect for 1 second.

Random Event 39: Destroys all blocks in a 2x2x2 radius around a random player. (This one may be removed as it could be very annoying to finish your base and suddenly there's a big hole in it.)

Fixed random event was random event 35, which teleports the player back to their spawn location no matter where they are.

  • Updated Pebble block so it can be waterlogged. Also it randomly rotates now too.
  • Hid debugging code I forgot to remove
  • Updated icon for Bad Omen effect

Just a small update nothing crazy.

  • Added Quivers. They're basically modern minecraft bundles, but they store arrows. You can craft one with 3 leather and 3 string. In order to use one, you have to put it in your chestplate slot.
  • Added some new structures you can find around the world
