Golden Age Combat
Classic combat has returned! Get ready for some fast-paced combat action and lots of fun!

Golden Age Combat is here to save Minecraft's combat by serving as a faithful recreation of Minecraft 1.8's old combat mechanics for modern versions without any compromises. So say goodbye to the attack cooldown and hello spam clicking!
From removing the infamous attack cooldown along with all traces such as animations and tooltips, over various small querks in combat oriented game mechanics to even very minor animations; this mod has it all!
For bringing back not just fast paced combat, but also the old sword blocking mechanic, make sure to check out Sword Blocking Mechanics.
Please note that Golden Age Combat is designed purely for an experience in singleplayer or on modded servers. Playing on vanilla servers, especially competitive ones, is not possible and won't be supported.
▶️ The attack cooldown is gone: No cooldown animation, no attack indicator.
▶️ Attack damage values for every weapon and tool are rebalanced to accomodate the removed cooldown, mostly resembling Minecraft 1.8's values.
▶️ Critical hits can be dealt while sprinting.
▶️ Knockback is effective in the air, sending your targets flying if you hit often enough.
▶️ Snowballs and eggs deal knockback to players
▶️ Fishing rod hooks are an effective weapon against entities and players, dealing knockback and not taking as much damage.
▶️ Hitboxes are inflated by 10%, making it easier to hit targets.
▶️ Client-side combat animations are re-added: Lost hearts no longer flash, bow / potion / food punching.
▶️ Quick health regeneration from food is reverted: Surplus saturation will no longer trigger a ridiculously fast regeneration boost (disabled by default).
▶️ Enchanted golden apples give the effects they used to (most notably regeneration).

If available for a mod, configuration is possible directly from in-game using the mod menu (requires Mod Menu by Prospector to be installed on Fabric). Please note that on older Minecraft versions installing Forge Config Screens is also a requirement.
For manual configuration using an external text editor all files are found at .minecraft/config, named as MOD_ID-client.toml, MOD_ID-common.toml, or MOD_ID-server.toml, depending on the type of config. Not all types might exist for a mod, if any at all.
