what is skel's client?

skel's client is a minecraft modpack running on fabric that takes the standard vanilla experience and enhances it, whilst making sure to not overdo it and keep things simple. as soon as you load into the game, everything should already look and feel familiar to you!

what makes skel's client so good?

updated frequently! (wherever possible)

skel's client is updated frequently with every Minecraft version, wherever possible. the modpack is highly dependent on mod creators updating their mods, so with every new Minecraft version some mods may have to be temporarily removed or completely replaced.

fully client sided

enjoy zero conflicts with vanilla servers, as this modpack primarily focuses on compatibility with many minecraft servers alongside working consistently with the Essential mod.

essential support

this modpack comes with Essential, a minecraft mod capable of allowing your friends to join your minecraft worlds without the hassle of setting up a server easily! each mod has been picked out with the primary focus of compatibility with Essential, so enjoy playing with your friends, no matter the client!

(note: this has been tested with skel's client hosting the world alongside a client with JUST the Essential mod loaded. if your friend is hosting a world on a modded client that may cause conflicts with joining their world, i cannot be of any assistance and that is a problem for you to solve.)

controller support (also with handheld support!)

want to or prefer to kick back and relax, without the need of using a keyboard and mouse? skel's client can solve that! thanks to the Controlify mod, you can easily hook up a controller to your game and play with nothing else needed to do! you can add custom mod binds and do everything you would usually be able to do, like changing your sensitivity for example.

alongside controller support, this also includes support for handhelds such as the Steam Deck! it does take a little bit of setting up however if you play on an OS such as SteamOS/Bazzite, setup however is very easy to do and you only need to do it once!

includes automatic AND manual downloads!

skel's client also includes a manual download file with every version as a .zip folder! this basically means you can take this modpack and put it in virtually any launcher! and yes, i'm aware this was possible before, but i'm making it less tedious and time-consuming to do now :p

the first update of 2026! apologies this took long, i've been very busy with college lately. alongside that having to make time for myself a lot more than focus on projects. alas, here's v3.3!

hey everyone! so, i'm back and i've added some extras to the modpack alongside updated it to the latest version.

changelog

  • updated mods to latest version
  • re-added Roughly Enough Items
  • added C2ME (Concurrent Chunk Management Engine)
  • added Freecam
  • added Fusion (replaces Continuity)
  • added Discord RPC
  • fixed video options slightly. now you're not using 6 threads for chunk updates!
  • fixed sound options to use all 100% (default)

this version is just a client update to MC 1.21.10. next version should include discord RPC.

i only disabled mods. those mods include the following:

  • roughly enough items
  • continuity
  • bobby

this version goes over a few issues with the modpack and fixes them, alongside adds 2 more mods to the mix!

what's new in this version?

  • added AppleSkin, so now you can see your saturation n whatnot.
  • added Better Mount HUD
  • in the main menu, the logo text is slightly bigger.
  • fixed the issue where the Ukulib button appears in windowed mode.
  • armour hotbar is now positioned correctly.
  • updated all mods to the latest version.

well then, this marks the start of the new v3 series for skel's client! honestly, i wasn't planning to do this, but seeing as i update my Minecraft to the latest version anyways (alongside my friends) i figured, "why not bring back skel's client?"

and lookie here, that's exactly what i did! :p

what's new in this version?

  • finally unarchived the project, and now updates will be regular.
  • released v3.0r, basically has everything.
  • manual downloads are now available starting now!
  • this new changelog layout!

upcoming in the next version!

  • honestly, no clue other than the next Minecraft version. i'm up for suggestions though!
