This is my first minecraft mod, so take that as you will... Anyway i created this mod specifically for a modpack i was making some time ago, that project has since ended however ive continued working on this in my free time. I now think that the mod is maybe ready for the public, hopefully...

The mod is centered around salvaging scrap metal and recycling it into new equipment, the mod currently features:

  • Scrap metal blocks that can be mined for resources
  • a suite of scrap and reclaimed metal armors and tools
  • a number of blocks to make recycling and processing materials easier/quicker
  • 14 new ranged weapons with modded varients each with their own animated models
  • 2 explosives
  • 3 mobs, 1 ranged two melee
  • a wasteland biome "still a work in progress"
  • 15 different structures and features
  • and much more!

In the future i would love to remake this mod from scratch by coding it in its entirety, however for now ill keep working on it with mcreator!

Rusted Rebirth 2.0

THE MOD HAS A NEW KEYBIND, THIS KEYBIND MUST BE SET FOR WEAPONS TO FIRE

id recommend binding it to left click

MAJOR CHANGES

  • Added config files
  • Radiation can now be turned off via the config file.
  • All ranged weapons are now left click based, BIND THE KEYBIND
  • removed the ADS from rifles, replaced it with an ADS button, while holding any ranged weapon from the mod pressing this button will zoom the camera in, if the weapon has a scope then this zoom is magnified.
  • Dunerider is now fully functional
  • added the old circuit board and old hard drive:
    • the circuit board is now needed to craft certain items and blocks
    • the harddrive is a valuable item that can be traded or can be disassembled.
    • both of these drop from the new old tv, computer and server blocks. for best results disassemble the blocks with a screwdriver or drill.
  • you now passively gain rads when in the wasteland, the rad suit and reclaimed armor prevent this.
  • reworked all the gun models, arms no longer included
  • added the Powersaw, a powerful wood harvesting tool
    • the saw has 2 modes, fell and chop.
    • chop harvests logs quickly
    • fell chops whole trees
    • the saw may also be used as a weapon in close quarters, it deal significant damage but uses a lot of power when used in this way.
  • Some foods now spoil slowly while in the wasteland
    • One food spoils every 5 minutes by default, this time can be either raised or lowered by the config file
    • radiation makes food spoil faster, the worse the rads the quicker food spoils
    • Canned and packaged dehydrated foods do not spoil
    • most vanilla foods spoil
  • Added the scrap turret, a new turret that can be made in scrap tier
    • its inaccurate but deals acceptable damage.
  • Reworked the weapons bench, both model and function
    • now when you input a weapon you can attach and remove mods. swapping them out as you see fit.
    • This is still a work in progress, so be aware of potential bugs.

MINOR CHANGES

  • reworked how the rod mold works, its now mostly texture based, should cut down on item bloat
  • pipe shotgun now deals damage in an AOE in front of it, this is to make it competitive with the other shotguns
  • the elite shotgun also gained this AOE
  • added compatibility for create, you can now press plastic billets and reclaimed ingots to get plates
  • the mining drill has changed, it now works with left click, its item did switch entirely though so if you had one you will have to cheat in another one. "sorry"
  • removed the sturdy table
  • Ranged raiders have been reworked, they now need to reload after 8 shots.
    • they deal roughly the same damage and will run away when reloading
  • The Rad beast has had a touch up
    • They will no longer attack each other, but will attack ANYTHING else
    • the tamed version can now climb walls.
  • The remote explosives have been tweaked, its explosion radius is much smaller now, but its also cheaper to craft.
    • it can also now be triggered via redstone.
  • added a number of new structures
    • a highrise with several floors, and a city block that connects to it.

  • scrap grinder and E scrap grinder have new models

  • reworked the Auto sifter and updated its model

    • the input slot now converts items into specific values within the block
    • scrap, natural, and nuggets. Each up to a max value of 256
    • as it runs it generates items based on these values
    • items like wheat and coal powder work differently in the block, basically the same as before though.
    • once the storage in the block is full it will start spitting results out from its top.
  • Added the Can launcher, a powerful new weapon that can be obtained via trading

    • the launcher fires the new launcher projectiles
    • explosive explodes, dealing damage in a radius
    • flechette is a scattergun, firing a volume of smaller projectiles in a cone
    • incendiary explodes dealing damage in a radius and igniting anything flammable
    • mininukes explode in a massive radius dealing immense damage and breaking blocks, these can only be found, not crafted
  • The helsing can now have its arrows coated, once applied the effect is transferred to any creature you shoot. currently you can apply:

    • burning with booze, sets mobs on fire for 15seconds (May get nerfed)
    • poison, healing, harming, regen, and slowness with potions
    • levitate with popped chorus fruit
    • glow with glowstone dust.
    • Arrows remain effected until you reload or apply a new effect.
  • Added a suite of new elite firearms, these weapons can only be found in the wasteland. They cannot be modified, at least yet.

  • Added the battle rifle, a powerful carbine with an underslung grenade launcher, launcher uses launcher he as ammo

  • Added the compact pistol, a variable fire pistol with low recoil and great damage.

  • Added the bulpup shotgun, a variable fire shotgun with great spread and a 20 round capacity.

  • Added the DuneRider, its a vehicle, not currently functioning.

    • it uses fuel canisters for fuel
    • can ram mobs and send them flying
    • can be repaired with a screwdriver or powerdrill with either scrap metal(1hp), iron plates(5hp), and reclaimed plates(10hp)

  • changed the way battery banks function, they now only store and distribute power
  • mining drill now has the same power capacity as the other tools "1000fe"
  • added a new charging station to charge tools and batteries
  • added a new junk block: the washing machine, it drops scrap and yields electric motors when disassembled.
  • added a bunch of new tooltips
  • fixed a bunch of sounds, they should now play on both client and server correctly
  • added a new mode to the reclaimed axe, press the C key to switch it to combat mode
    • while in combat mode the axe deals more damage and has a special attack, to use the special attack hold right click until you see the ready prompt. Then just release right click.
    • The attack will hit the nearest mob in front of you and ill deal massive damage, but it has a long cooldown.
  • added a few new structures
    • a bus stop with and without a bus
    • a giant sprawling underground bunker complex with great loot
  • rebalanced canned food, only stews and canned meats apply effects now
  • Changed most of the existing structures
    • the basic 3 story appartment complex now has slightly different loot
    • the large ruin of 3 buildings now HAS loot
    • the small restaurant now HAS loot
    • the farm is now slightly different
  • raiders now spawn in the wasteland during the day

  • Added mining drill
  • changed the way the portable compressor and powerdrill store power
  • all power tools should roughly display their remaining energy as their durability
  • added particles to the can grenade and molotov
  • changed the can grenade to a 2d texture
  • changed the textures on all food items
  • Added remote explosives
  • changed the way airtanks work, and removed the empty air tank.
  • Removed some un-needed items and recipes

  • adjusted resources gained from sifting wheat and grinding seeds. Flour now only takes 2 seeds to make.
  • fixed the electric furnace, should no longer waste energy.
  • the metal pipe is no longer a weapon, and stacks to 64
  • The Helsing can now be fired while moving

Major changes

  • Changed the way the wasteland is accessed. It is now considered a dimension and can be accessed via a portal.
    • The portal is made with 10 or more reinforced concrete blocks and is ignited with either a screwdriver or power drill.
  • The datapack is no longer needed for this mod to function, ill leave it up but it will no longer be considered a dependency from this version onward.

Minor changes

  • Added a new powerdrill, can be charged in the battery bank and used in the same manor as the screwdriver
  • Added the ability to disassemble scrap blocks, currently only the old stove and fridge. Just right click on them with a screwdriver and power drill. Disassembling yields more resources.
  • Fixed the turret ammo box loading, should no longer eat bullets
  • Tweaked rad beast spawn rates, should spawn less often now.
  • Added two vending machines, they can drop food and scrap, they can also be disassembled with the screwdriver and powerdrill.
