Adds an extremely dangerous alien species (based on The Thing) to Minecraft!

Important note: This mod is not currently being developed as I have been losing interest in modding Minecraft. It's not abandoned and I would like to do more with it in the future (at least one update to make it feel like a more complete and refined experience) but for now there won't be any updates for a while. I hope you understand :)

Adds everyone's favourite alien shapeshifter to Minecraft 1.20.1!

Requires AzureLib and FromAnotherLibrary (and Fabric API if you're using the fabric version)

This mod has a unique take on the concept of invasion and infection mods:

-The mobs have a consistent presence - they cannot spawn or despawn randomly. They spread through your world like a real organism with a consistent method of reproduction and never "cheat."

-Survival is the focus - everything is balanced and tested for survival mode with no other mods installed. If something is unfair/unfun, this is not intended, please report it.

Tips:

-USE FIRE. Flint and Steel can set mobs from this mod on fire just by right clicking them.

-The Alien Thing may seem impossible to kill at first but it is beatable. You just need to be a bit smarter to make sure it can't survive.

A: No, I only want to support the latest version but anyone is welcome to backport it themselves (and if you do I apologise for the state of my code, I never took any actual lessons to learn Java, it's a miracle I managed to make a functional mod).

Technical changes to transformations

Hoes break assimilated sculk and assimilated sculk activators faster

Axes break sprawling tentacles faster

Shovels break tunnels faster

Reduced assimilated sculk tentacle render distance (128 -> 64) and made it configurable

Alien Thing transformation particles don't spawn while it's frozen

Assimilated sculk collision and hitboxes now match their vanilla counterparts

Revealed assimilated sculk vein texture

Assimilated sculk gradually redisguises (should also reduce lag caused by tentacles as more of them will be inactive)

Stepping on assimilated sculk special blocks alerts them

Assimilated sculk reveals faster but has a shorter range (the whole biome revealing at once was cool but could lead to a billion tentacles destroying framerate)

Maximum of 1 assimilated sculk tentacle active within a 48x48x48 area to reduce lag

Brambles now break instantly

Alien thing assimilated sculk tentacle placement config option

Starship crash explosion is larger and sets blocks on fire

Most blocks are now silk touchable

Breeding assimilated animals produces assimilated child

Blood crawlers ignore mobs that have already began assimilation

Rebalancing:

BUFFS:

-DogBeast Spitters can spit from further away

-Crawlers are faster

-Blair Things are more aggressive (but also spend less time healing underground)

NERFS:

-Wither now stops Thing regeneration, just like fire

-DogBeasts flee slower

-Minibosses formed by merging are now one tier lower (previously ranging from 1-3, now 0-2). This means the weakests Beasts formed by merging are now equal in strength to those formed by assimilating large quadrupeds, instead of being one tier stronger

-Some mobs that could previously become beasts now just become ordinary quadruped things

-Blood Crawlers drop less XP

Misc:

-Now uses Architectury, allowing for easy development on both forge and fabric (does not require Architectury API)

-Moved entity classification to tags that can be edited with datapacks

-Added built in compatibility datapacks for: Alex's Mobs, Guard Villagers, MCA

-Requires AzureLib instead of GeckoLib
