🌲 Eager Beavers 🌲

Ever wanted beavers in Minecraft? Well here they are!

Special 1.3 update! Spawning issues should now be fixed along with beavers eating too much of the world!

BEAVERS

Features:

🛠️ Tree Chopping:

  • If mobGriefing is enabled, beavers will chop down nearby trees
  • Trees will fall to the ground, leaving stumps behind

🎒 Item Collection:

  • Beavers will pick up logs they bite down, as well as food, saplings (which they replant), and sticks (which they eat)
  • Give a beaver food and it will eat it after a short while

🌊 Dam Building:

  • After gathering logs (or picking up any other blocks!), Beavers will seek out the nearest source of water and begin to dam

Other:

  • Can be bred with logs/wood
  • can be tamed with sticks
  • Drops Beaver Pelts
  • Craft a Beaver Pelt into a Beaver Hat, which lets you swim fast underwater!

Neoforge release!

  • Improved AI slightly, beavers should more reliably place dam blocks
  • Beavers fight for blocks less
  • Unfortunately the tail animations on the Beaver Hat are broken in Neoforge, I'll fix this in a later update but for now the beaver hat is just static
  • A config file! Now you can adjust the spawn rates if they're too low/high
  • a creative tab in the menu (its sparse but the items are no longer just in miscellaneous)

BIG UPDATE! Sorry this has been a long time coming, but I wanted it to be as good as I could make it for now. Updates

  • Beaver overspawning SHOULD be fixed! Please let me know through discord if it's not.
  • Beaver lodge structure added
  • Many, many bugfixes and tweaks:
    • Beaver dam building should be much more efficient
    • Beavers use a reservation system to make sure two don't go for the same block
    • Beavers will remember where the tree they knocked down was before going for a new one
    • Restrictions on what a Beaver can chew have been tightened, so they shouldn't eat your house anymore
    • Taming was removed cause it wasn't doing much
    • Beaver swimming was improved
    • Beaver AI should also be improved in general

  • Hopefully actually fixed the spawning bug this time
  • Added taming with sticks
  • Cleaned up a bunch of code and the AI so they should work a lot more consistently now
