Dungeon's Delight is an addon to the popular Minecraft mod Farmer’s Delight which aims to introduce new content in the farming and cooking aspects of the game. Dungeon's Delight expands on Farmer’s Delight with the ability to cook and monsters and earn various new status effects from them.

🍲Monster Cooking🍲

Dungeon's Delight features a new crafting station known as the Monster Pot. The Monster Pot acts very similar to the Cooking Pot found in Farmer's Delight but must be heated by spawner-like blocks and can create new foods known as Monster Foods that of which all grant special new effects!

🔮Monster Effects🔮

Dungeon's Delight features a new alternative effect type to existing effects known as Monster Effects. Monster Effects are mutually exclusive with their normal counterparts meaning if the user tries to attain both versions of an effect the normal one will become "monsterized" and turned into the monster variant. Monster Effects keep the themeing of the original effect but flip it on it's head!

Dungeon's Delight features some extra side features such as the Cleaver, a new alternative to the knife which can be thrown or Rotbulbs, a new crop that must be grown in dark locations.

  • A: I do not have any plans to port to any older versions of Minecraft, as for newer versions of the game I will probably be sticking to the biggest modding version at a given time since that will be the version I will be playing the game on.

Lull Garden Update || v1.5.0 NeoForge-1.21.1

This update adds compatibility with Farmer's Delight 1.3.0+ and is also thus now the minimum required version to play Dungeon's Delight. Additionally, NeoForge v21.1.219 or later is required.

There will be some changes to go along with Farmer's Delight 1.3 such as Tenacity being moved away from Comfort, these changes will come in a future release however

TLDR: Farmer's Delight v1.3+ and NeoForge 21.1.219+ are required

Changes

  • Ricochet now increases Cleaver damage by 1.33x for each consecutive bounce (previously 1.25x)
  • Gunk Arrows not inflict Putrid Scent for 15 seconds (previously 10 seconds)
  • Chloropasta now grants Nourishment instead of Comfort
  • Reduced use time on Bubblegunk to 12 ticks (previously 24 ticks)
  • Rich Soil now influences Rotbulb growth
  • Raw Spider Meat can now be smelted and campfire cooked into Smoked Spider Meat (previously exclusive to Smokers)
  • Ghast Calamari can now be smelted and campfire cooked into Fried Calamari (previously exclusive to Smokers)
  • Sniffer Egg can now only be campfire cooked into Soft Serve Sniffer Egg (previously exclusive to Smokers)
  • Dungeon Stoves now only drain experience in a 13x radius on the top of the block

Putrid Banquet Patch || v1.4.6 NeoForge-1.21.1

Additions

  • When Living Fire blocks steal exp points it now stores it inside with a cap of 30 levels, when broken is drops 75% of the exp points
  • Living Fire blocks now steal 1 exp point at a fast rate instead of 3 exp points every 1.5 seconds
  • Added new death message for dying to Living Fire or Living Campfires
  • Added Rot and Steel, can be used to place Living Fire on any block, when used on Soul Sand it will create Spirit Fire

Changes

  • Fixed Cleavers dealing 1.5x more damage than they should be doing
    • Due to these changes the attack damage of Cleavers have increased by +0.5
    • Cleavers now deal 1.5x increased damage when fully charged instead of +0.75
  • All foods that grant some sort of effect are always edible instead of only when hungry
  • Biteable foods no longer are required for eat all advancements

Recipe Changes

  • Stained Scrap Block now requires x2 Stained Scrap Fragments and x2 Stained Scrap instead of x4 Stained Scrap and now outputs x4 instead of x1
  • Stained Doors and Trapdoors now require Stained Scrap Fragments instead of Stained Scrap
  • Stained Lantern now outputs x4 instead of x1 and is cheaper on Stained Scrap Fragments
  • Living Torch now outputs x16 instead of x4
  • Living Candle now outputs x4 instead of x1 and requires Stained Scrap Fragment instead of Stained Scrap
  • Living Lantern now outputs x4 instead of x1 and is cheaper on Stained Scrap Fragments
  • Living Campfire now requires Stained Scrap Fragment instead of Stained Scrap
  • Fixed Living Jack o'Lantern requiring a normal Rotgourd instead of Carved Rotgourd

Tweaks

  • Updated the textures/palette of all Stained Scrap items and blocks
  • Updated the texture of Rotgourds

Notes

  • [Warning] Existing Rotten Zombies and Glow Berry Gelatin will disappear upon updating, read below for more details
  • Assuming no issues arise this will most likely be the last content update for some time, so if things go quiet it's not because the mod is dead
  • Versioning has been slightly reformatted, all future updates will now follow a semantic versioning scheme
  • Due to overhauls involving its generation, expect a few things with Rotten Dungeons
    • You may notice several warnings when entering chunks with existing Rotten Dungeons; the structure itself has been completely removed. You can safely ignore these
    • You will no longer be able to use /place structure to place Rotten Dungeons, as they now work together with existing monster_room placement

Rotgourds & Rotgut Effect

  • Added Rotgourd, a new pure rot crop ready for your tending
    • Can be obtained by splashing a Pumpkin with Rancid Reduction
    • Can be carved into a Carved Rotgourd using Shears, Knives, or a Cleaver
  • Added Rotgut as Rotgourd's Monster Effect
    • Monsterizes Regeneration
    • When damaged while this effect is active a portion of lost health will be turned into rotten hearts (cap of +8 rotten hearts +2 per level of effect)
    • Rotten hearts will not protect any damage and will act like empty containers
    • When dealing damage to entities with rotten hearts half the damage dealt will be siphoned back into normal health
    • When damage is dealt with rotten hearts there will always be a minimum of 1 heart that heals in the case the player deals less than 2 damage
    • A new advancement has been added for obtaining Rotgut
  • Added Spider Bisque, Grants Rotgut I for 2:00 and Pouncing I for 2:00
  • Added Rotpop, grants Rotgut I for 1:30 and can be consumed quickly
  • Added Rot Roast, grants Rotgut II for 1:30, Burrow Gut II for 1:30, and 75% of the time Ravenous Rush I for 0:10, can be bitten multiple times
  • Added Putrid Spice Latte, grants Rotgut III for 2:30
  • Tokayaki and Ghast Rolls are now crafted with Rotgourd Slices instead of Rotbulbs and grant Rotgut instead of Exudation

Sculk Foods Overhaul (Echo Blast)

  • Majority of Sculk Foods now unleash an Echo Blast that causes low damage but high knockback, these are helpful for getting out of a situation or attempting to eat foods while leaving room for Exudation to deal with tanking and offensive situations
  • Sculk Foods have 3 varying levels of blast size, each has a longer lifespan, windup time, and range
  • Sculk Foods that have an Echo Blast are now always edible
  • The level is determined by how many sculk ingredients are in an item's recipe
  • Echo Blasts can only affect hostile mobs
  • Echo Blasts inflict Slowness for 0:02
  • The #ignores_echo_blast entity tag has been added for mobs that should be unaffected, by default this includes Ender Dragon, Wither, and Warden
  • Some foods no longer have any effect which includes:
    • Wardenzola
    • Wardenzola Crumbles
    • Sculk Mayo
    • Cleaved Ancient Egg
    • Echo Rock Candy
  • Sculk Tarts, Polterghast Pizza, and Echo Rock Candy will keep the experience effect
  • Devilish Eggs are now eaten quickly
  • Gyudon now can monsterize an effect
  • Poisonous Poutine now costs an extra #sculk_cheese item
  • Echo Rock Candy now grants 50% more experience
  • Echo Rock Candy Strength II duration reduced from 1:30 to 0:45

Sniffer Foods Overhaul (Harmonizing)

  • Foods created using Sniffer meat now has a chance to cure a Monster Effect, this hopefully makes them feel connected to the mod rather than a random addition
    • Raw Snifferwurst has a 10% chance
    • Cooked Snifferwrust has a 15% chance
    • Soft Served Sniffer Egg has a 50% chance
    • Chloropasta's has a 20% chance
    • Snuffledog has a 100% chance
  • Sniffer foods no longer have slower eating speed
  • Cooked Sniffer Shank saturation decreased from 0.9 to 0.8
  • Raw Snifferwurst and Cooked Snifferwurst can no longer grant Regeneration
  • Raw Snifferwurst saturation increased from 0.5 to 0.6
  • Cooked Snifferwurst saturation increased from 0.7 to 0.8
  • Soft Served Sniffer Egg saturation increased from 0.4 to 0.6
  • Soft Served Sniffer Egg stack sized increased from 16 to 64
  • Snuffledog saturation decreased from 1.1 to 1.0
  • Snuffledog Regeneration level decreased from II to I
  • Chloropasta chance to not be consumed increased from 10% to 20%
  • Removed Ominous Omelette item
  • Advancement for eating a Sniffer Food has been updated to curing an effect using Sniffer Food

Rotten Zombies Overhaul (Zombified Dryads)

  • Rotten Zombies have been renamed to Zombified Dryads
  • Zombified Dryads now have a new texture & sounds (Sound credit: @TheArtyrian)
  • Zombified Dryads spawn with a Rotgourd equipped 25% of the time, while worn if hurt by a Knife or Cleaver the Rotgourd will be split open and drop Rotgourd Slices, a new advancement has been added alongside this interaction
  • Zombified Dryads with Living Jack o'Lantern's equipped will also be granted permanent Rotgut until the Rotgourd is removed

Glow Berry Gelatin Overhaul (Monster Mousse)

  • Glow Berry Gelatin has been renamed to Monster Mousse (this will break existing Glow Berry Gelatin in worlds)
  • Texture has been updated to match the name
  • Monster Mousse grants Tenacity instead of Comfort and additionally Exudation
  • Recipe has been updated to use a Rotbulb instead of a Glow Berry
  • Monster Mousse is now considered a Monster Food
  • This change alongside Sniffer foods hopefully means all foods in the mod should feel true to the theme

Cleavers Balancing

  • Cleavers now increase in velocity when charging up, charging up is optional but fully charging a Cleaver will be rewarded
    • Charging a Cleaver to 75% will be the same as how it used to be in previous versions
    • Fully charged Cleavers will decrease the miss cooldown time by 50%
    • Fully charged Cleavers will deal +0.75 additional damage
    • Fully charged Cleavers will increase the time of Serrated inflicted on entities
    • A "shine" will now play when the Cleaver is fully charged (Sound credit: @TheArtyrian)
  • Cleaver charge levels
    • 100% charged is 32 ticks
    • 75% charged is 24 ticks
    • 50% charged is 16 ticks
    • 25% charged is 8 ticks
  • All Cleavers have had their Throw Range changed
    • Flint Cleaver: 1.25x -> 1.0x
    • Iron Cleaver: 1.5x -> 1.25x
    • Golden Cleaver: Unchanged (1.75x)
    • Diamond Cleaver: 1.75x -> 1.5x
    • Netherite Cleaver: Unchanged (1.75x)
  • All Cleavers now are given a cooldown when a thrown is missed
  • All Cleavers have had their attack speed decreased by 0.1
  • Thrown Cleaver damage bonus has been decreased from +1.66 to +1.5
  • Serrated damage tick rate has been decreased from 20 ticks to 10 ticks
  • Serrated no longer bypasses Resistance
  • Throw Range tooltip now displays as a multiplier rather than a fixed number

Rotten Dungeons (thanks to @TheArtyrian)

  • Generation code has been completely overhauled
    • Instead of a seperate structure, Rotten Dungeons now share generation with regular Monster Rooms. They will now have a 10% chance of replacing them upon generation
    • Rotten Dungeons will no longer all look the same; they'll have randomized layouts every time, just like regular Monster Rooms!
    • This overhaul fixes several issues with previous Rotten Dungeons:
      • Now that the code is shared with Monster Rooms, you'll FINALLY be able to see them exposed to caves, making them far easier to find!
      • Rotten Dungeons will no longer spawn in awkward locations, i.e the ocean, surface, or air

Misc Additions

Changes

  • Creative inventory ordering has been changed, the bulk of the change is that the ordering of foods now prioritizes "Mob Type" then "Food Type" instead of the reversed
  • Zombified Piglins and Zoglins now drop Rotten Tripe when killed with a Knife or Cleaver
  • Exudation's base damage has been increased from 10 to 12
  • Exudation's base range has been increased from 8 blocks to 10
  • Exudation's range now increases by 2 blocks per level instead of 1
  • Exudation's damage now bypasses armor but no longer enchantments
  • Sound now plays when monsterizing an effect
  • Wild Rotbulb can now found rarely growing underground in Swamps or Mangrove Swamps, this is an easier alternative method of obtaining Rotbulb for now

  • Slightly altered how Rotbulbs grow
    • Rotbulblings can now be placed on any block with a solid top (of course, provided it's dark enough or it can't see the sky)
    • Rotbulbs now use a tag, rotbulb_crop_grows_faster, to determine how quickly they grow. This tag contains blocks in rotbulb_growable_on, but also Netherrack and Mud.
    • Rotbulbs grown on the above blocks will grow faster than they would on any other block
  • Removed Life Grasp enchantment (was unused/unobtainable after v1.3 anyway)
  • Removed "fdGlowingFoodsGrantPerception" configuration
  • Removed "fdStickFoodsGrantStrength" configuration

  • Dungeon Stoves now require Tuff Bricks to craft

  • Cleavers now use the Trident throw animation when in 3rd person

  • Entities killed by another entity with Voracity will disappear without performing their death animation (Credit: @TheArtyrian)
    • A new tag has been added, voracity_death_fx_blacklist, to allow entities (the Wither and Ender Dragon by default) to do their normal death animation, as to prevent issues
  • A few of the cleaver sounds now have random pitch
  • Slightly lowered the volume of the Cleaver
  • Rancid Reduction now has a particle trail when thrown
  • Advancements for obtaining effects no longer display in chat (this is due to how some foods have multiple effects which will clutter chat)
