DayOfMind Additions
Practical tools, smart enchantments and building blocks that feel like vanilla.
DayOfMind Additions is the companion mod to the DayOfMind modpack — a curated vanilla+ experience by OxFaTech — but it works standalone in any Fabric pack. It speeds up resource gathering, terraforming and farming, adds a full tool‑progression system, and rounds out your building palette, all without overcomplicating the base game.

A complete tool rework: a Harvester Scythe, a tier‑upgrade system with the Reforging Rune, two signature enchantments (Wide Reach & Magnetism), the Lodestar Charm magnet with optional accessory‑slot support, and a dedicated advancement tab.

🛠️ Smart Tools
A family of tools that turn tedious jobs into a single click. Every tool comes in all six tiers (Wood → Netherite) and works with modded blocks too.
- Terraformer Shovel — excavates earth‑like blocks in an area, and toggles dirt ↔ dirt‑path (sneak to reverse).
- Hammer — mines stone‑like blocks in an area, and creates paths just like the shovel.
- Prospector Pickaxe — vein‑mines a whole ore deposit at once.
- Lumberjack Axe — fells an entire tree, and strips logs in an area.
- Harvester Scythe — right‑click to harvest & replant mature crops, mow grass/ferns/flowers, shear vines/leaves/cobwebs, cut sugar cane/bamboo/cactus, harvest melons & pumpkins, and till farmland — all context‑aware.


♻️ Tool Progression & Reforging
Your tools grow with you instead of being re‑crafted from scratch.
- Durable by design — every tool carries extra durability over its vanilla counterpart.
- Reforging Rune — a craftable smithing item that upgrades an Iron or Gold tool to Diamond, carrying its enchantments and wear across.
- Netherite upgrades — promote a Diamond tool to Netherite with a vanilla smithing template, exactly like vanilla gear.

🌟 Signature Enchantments
Available at the enchanting table and listed in the mod's own creative tab.
- Wide Reach (I–II) — widens the affected area of the radius tools (and the Lodestar Charm's pull).
- Magnetism (I–II) — sends the drops from blocks you mine or harvest straight to you (never a general vacuum). Level II also pulls in the experience. Works on the mod's tools and vanilla mining tools alike.

🧲 Lodestar Charm
A mystical trinket that draws nearby dropped items — and experience — to you.
- Works from your off hand out of the box.
- With an accessory mod installed (optional) — Ohmega or Trinkets Updated — equip it in an accessory slot instead.
- Enchantable with Wide Reach to extend its pull radius.

🏗️ Architectural Options
Expand your building palette with variants that inherit the look and behaviour of their base blocks.
- Slabs, Stairs & Trapdoors for a huge range of vanilla blocks — including trickier ones like dirt path, Crying Obsidian and Magma.
- True to their base — Crying Obsidian variants still weep tear particles, Magma variants still burn and form bubble columns in water, dirt‑path slabs/stairs keep their lower profile, and grass variants turn snowy under snowfall.
- Lanterns — small, large and redstone‑powered, in materials like Copper, Amethyst and Diamond (with copper weathering).
- Redstone Chains — conduct redstone power along their axis for compact, tidy wiring.
- Grass Stairs & Slabs — biome‑tinted, so they blend into the landscape.

🌿 Nature & Quality of Life
- Configurable Fast Leaf Decay — quicker tree cleanup with adjustable timing.
- Vanilla Shovel Tweak — the plain shovel can toggle dirt ↔ path too (optional).
- Consistent Block Effects — every variant keeps the properties of its base block.
- Craftable Name Tag — craft name tags from string, a sign, paper and an iron nugget — no fishing or trading required.
- In‑game config — toggle the shovel tweak, tune the leaf‑decay speed, and manage translation downloads via ModMenu / MidnightLib.

🚀 Installation
- Download the mod from Modrinth or CurseForge.
- Drop the
.jarinto yourmodsfolder. - Make sure you also have Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin and MidnightLib for your Minecraft version.

DayOfMind Additions 0.15.0 — The Tools Update
The biggest update yet: a complete tool rework, a tier‑upgrade system, two signature enchantments, an item magnet and a dedicated advancement tab — now on Minecraft 26.2.

Several tools were renamed (new item IDs), so tools crafted in older versions will disappear from your inventory after updating and must be re‑crafted. Back up your world before loading it with this version.

✨ New tools & rework
- 🌾 Harvester Scythe (new tool) — right‑click to harvest & replant mature crops, harvest melons & pumpkins, mow grass/ferns/flowers/wildflowers/firefly bush, shear vines/leaves/cobwebs/glow lichen, cut sugar cane/bamboo/cactus, and till farmland — all context‑aware.
- Reworked models & textures for the Terraformer Shovel, Hammer, Lumberjack Axe and Prospector Pickaxe (Blockbench sources in the repo).
- 🪓 Smart stripping — the Lumberjack Axe now strips connected logs (not a fixed radius), with dynamic support for modded wood.
- ⛏️ Smarter vein mining — the Prospector Pickaxe follows connected ore veins more reliably, including many modded ores.
♻️ Tool progression & reforging
- Reforging Rune (new item) — upgrade an Iron or Gold tool to Diamond, carrying its enchantments and durability across.
- Netherite upgrades — promote Diamond tools to Netherite with a vanilla smithing template (Netherite is upgrade‑only now).
- Rebalance — reworked durability, a cheaper shovel recipe, and an anvil‑repair fix so tools no longer repair each other for scraps.
🌟 Signature enchantments
- Wide Reach (I–II) — widens the area of the radius tools (and the Lodestar Charm's pull).
- Magnetism (I–II) — sends the drops from blocks you mine or harvest straight to you (never a general vacuum); level II also pulls in the experience. Works on the mod's tools and vanilla mining tools.
- Both come with description tooltips on tools and enchanted books, and are listed in the mod's "Magics" creative tab.

🐛 Fixes & quality of life
- Fixed vein mining only breaking a single block in creative mode.
- Removed the disruptive mid‑session translation resource reload (community translations now apply on the next launch).
- Block variants are now always registered (dropped the enable/disable config toggles).
- Broader vanilla + modded ore tag coverage.
⚙️ Technical
- Ported to Minecraft 26.2 (also builds for 26.1), on Java/Kotlin 25.
- Migrated the codebase from Yarn to official Mojang mappings.
- Copper lantern/chain textures are now driven from the weathering‑collection state instead of id‑string parsing.

Hey @everyone 👋 A new Alpha build (Build 90) for the Tool Rework is now available!
This update focuses on making our specialized tools much smarter, more efficient, and better at interacting with other mods.
✨ What's New:
- ⛏️ Advanced Vein Mining: The Prospector Pickaxe is now significantly more efficient! I've overhauled the logic to ensure it correctly identifies connected blocks—especially those from other mods that were previously missed.
- 🪓 Smart Stripping: The Lumberjack Axe has been upgraded. Instead of a simple radius (AoE), it now uses a connected-block algorithm to strip logs. It’s more precise and includes a dynamic lookup for improved compatibility with modded wood types.
- 💎 Comprehensive Ore Support: Updated the internal block tags to include a wider range of vanilla and common modded ores.
- 🐛 Creative Mode Fix: Resolved an issue where vein mining would only break a single block in creative mode by ensuring tool tiers are now correctly respected.
⚙️ Technical Upgrades:
- Engine Update: Ported to Minecraft 26.1.1 and upgraded to Java/Kotlin 25.
- Mappings Migration: The entire codebase has been migrated from Yarn to official Mojang mappings (MojMaps).
- Dependency Bump: Updated Fabric API, Loader, MidnightLib, and Jade to the latest versions for better stability.

DayOfMind Additions v0.14.4-BETA (Minecraft 1.21.x)
This beta release is packed with new tools, a completely overhauled translation system, and numerous under-the-hood improvements to enhance the gameplay experience and mod maintainability.
✨ Features & New Additions
New Vein Mining Tools:
- Vein Mining Pickaxe: A new tool designed specifically to mine entire ore veins at once. It intelligently targets connected ore blocks while ignoring stone, allowing for precise and efficient extraction.
- Vein Mining Axe (Lumberjack Axe): Fells entire trees in a single swing! It breaks all connected logs and leaves. Additionally, it can strip logs in an Area of Effect (AoE) with a right-click.
Fast Leaf Decay:
- Leaves from felled trees now decay almost instantly. This feature is enabled by default and can be configured or disabled in the settings (
EnableFastLeafDecay,LeafDecayDelay).

Completely Reworked Translation System:
- The mod now automatically and efficiently downloads community translations from a single, centralized source.
- The frequency of the update check can be configured to minimize load (e.g., only on every 3rd game launch).
- The new process is more robust and easier to maintain, resulting in more up-to-date and consistent translations for all players.
Radius Mining in Creative Mode:
- The AoE functionality of Hammers and other radius-mining tools now works seamlessly in Creative Mode, just as it does in Survival.
🔧 Improvements & Adjustments
Overhauled Crafting Recipes:
- The recipes for all custom tools have been completely redesigned to be more distinct and balanced.
- The required secondary materials have been adjusted to improve progression (e.g., Lead for stone tools, Amethyst Shards for iron tools).
- Recipes for all lantern types have been optimized, and all are now craftable.
Improved Naming & Tooltips:
- Tool names have been standardized to match vanilla patterns (e.g., "Wooden Hammer").
- The naming convention for blocks made from common materials has been improved for better consistency (e.g., "Stairs of Diamond" instead of "Diamond Stairs").
- Added tooltips for the new vein mining tools and optimized the display for radius-mining tools to take up less UI space.
🐛 Bugfixes
- Path Stairs Collision Fixed: Path Stairs are climbable again. The collision issue has been resolved.
⚙️ Technical & Code Structure
- Item System Refactoring: The registration for all tools has been greatly simplified through a new, flexible
ToolItembase class and the introduction ofToolTypesandMiningTypesenums. This reduces code duplication and makes it easier to add new tool types in the future. - Centralized Logic: Common functionalities, such as the block-breaking logic, have been moved to the
ToolItembase class to increase reusability. - Code Cleanup: Minor refactorings, like encapsulating the
AttackBlockCallbacklogic and moving helper classes, improve overall code quality. - Dependencies Updated: Project dependencies have been updated to their latest versions.
