why?

Optimization mods for Fabric scale really well with large modpacks, meaning that gameplay stays relatively smooth regardless of modpack size.

Forge doesn't have this luxury. FPS often tanks when using upwards of 75 mods. The few optimization packs that exist for Forge aren't as good at mitigating this as the ones on Fabric.

When putting together large modpacks, I often build on top of pre-existing optimization packs. Robin surpasses comparable Forge options and can consistently match—and sometimes even outperform—Fabric's performance packs, whether running without any mods or with over 250.

yes.

tested on ryzen 9 3900 + radeon rx 5700 xt on a randomly generated world.
render distance 12, sim distance 5.
preference-based settings like FOV that affect performance have been matched to robin's default.
