Dive into a simpler time.

This modpack aims to restore the way Minecraft played back in Beta 1.7.3 with a collection of mods, resource packs and scripts.

Credit to ImNero for the RetroHungerLegacy mod, which I forked and modified and included in this modpack. (Licensed MIT)

How to install

  • Download the .mrpack file
  • Install the pack using a custom launcher, such as the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or MultiMC
  • Enjoy! You can also join the official modpack's server, which is in the server list.

OptiFine is also recommended to allow for some minor details and performance improvements. You will need to install that yourself.

This release adds some long awaited features that have been missing from this modpack.

  • Added the old title screen; dirt background, no realms button, etcetera.
  • Set the default Modern Beta terrain preset to Beta 1.7.3's terrain. No more extra inputs required on the world creation screen.
  • Added the old Book and Fence recipe. Removed Fence Gates.
  • Added the old water texture.
  • Removed Coarse Dirt and Concrete.
  • Flipped the half armor icon.
  • Added the old boat texture.
  • Disabled OptiFine's Alternating Textures to match Beta.
  • Fixed an issue where beds can't be crafted too high up in the crafting table.
  • Re-added Squids.
  • Made fall damage in water accurate to Beta.

  • Optimized the resource pack some more by deleting unneccessary assets, bringing the modpack way down in size.
  • Replaced drown and fire damage with the old hurt sound as well.

Added DamageTilt and StackUp! to the modpack and added/changed a bunch of configs.

  • Porkchops now have a stack limit of 1
  • Optimized the Resource Pack by deleting a lot of unnecessary textures
  • Disabled sword blocking
  • Cleared sheep of their loot drops
