A resource pack that adds decorative strings (fairy lights or garlands) and other custom items to enhance the decorating potential of vanilla Minecraft, all without any mods!

There comes a time in every survival playthrough where you want to decorate your abode, but a search around for building inspo leaves you unsatisfied. Creative mode options require a lot of tinkering, and anything survival friendly just takes up too much space.

This pack was born from this frustration I had while playing on an SMP. Previous packs achieved custom models with Optifine or CIT (which is defunct).

Thanks to 1.21.5 pack changes, custom models are now much easier to implement into vanilla gameplay. That's right, this pack require zero mods to function.

The pack currently features 85+ custom items to choose from!

Pack Features:

  • String lights (Fairy lights) and fun decorative extras add a touch of detail to your base, while still fitting into vanilla survival gameplay.
  • Extra decorative items and accessories to discover! (use the pack README to find them all!)
  • Strings are accessed by renaming glowstone dust in an anvil. This means the pack doesn't replace or interrupt any normal gameplay. - Glow item frames have been made invisible by default to allow for the cleanest appearance. Be sure to use Glow item frames for the best effect.

Strings:

  • Added clothesline elements, some with animation to bring more life to your builds.

a couple clotheslines holding sheets, shirts, pants.

Tweaks:

  • Updated to 26.2
  • Item frame and Glow Item frames now appear as a subtle border to make them easier to place, use an invisible item frame pack on top of this one to take it all the way!
  • temporarily reverted the birthday string because it broke the pack.. cursed object.
  • retired some halloween strings and a couple other things which will get better versions in the future.

  • Added flag strings in all standard wool colours!Yellow and Light Blue flags strung across an open courtyard.

Tweaks:

  • Fixed naming errors in the README (whoops!)
  • Bumped to latest snapshot version
  • Tweaked happy birthday string (new rope texture, also works better in sequence with flags)

Strings are now more modular than before, with the ability to create strings that span a single block or wrap a corner (no more measuring in threes!).

Strings:

Please use the updated README to make sense of the options, the list is getting really long..!

  • Added mini lights that surround pillars and posts (SLM "WRP" for wrap)
  • Added mini lights that string across only a single block, great for use around windows and corners! (SLM "I" for individual)

Things:

  • Wear the wrap pillar string as a hat (using a carved pumpkin)!

Tweaks:

  • Corrected issue with pack version in 4a in newer pack versions, (there is some kind of minecraft bug that makes the pack break when textures arent assigned to faces) version bump to 76 (1.21.11 and latest snapshots)
  • Adjusted a couple string positions so they fit in with the new additions
  • The ReadME is now a bit more clearly layed out for using each piece modularly
  • Removed SLMULTI (I want to revisit them later)

Strings:

  • Added 22 strings to match vanilla minecraft colour options for the mini lights and regular sized lights (red, orange, yellow, lime, light blue, blue, pink, magenta, purple)
  • Added copper lantern strings (and weathered versions)
  • Added springtime floral variation of the spruce garland
  • Added flame particles to candle models
  • Removed SLS, SLST, SLH, SLG (redundancy, may see return in future)

Things:

  • Added expirimental decorative seafoam element (WAVE)
  • Added flower crown
  • Added lucia crown

Tweaks:

  • Pack version bump to 74 (1.21.11) Fixed in 5a
  • Tweaked SLSNOW, ARM, and LLAMA string models
  • SLT speed slowed a touch

*Important note: carved pumpkins are now only used for named hats/plushies, all strings and decorative objects are accessed by renaming glowstone dust.

Added:

  • Added candelit tree
  • Added candelabra and candle sconce.
  • Added spruce garland string varient
  • Added snowflake string
  • Added string with a vanilla lantern style

Tweaks:

  • New Pack Icon
  • Mini light strings now work in Shelf blocks; great for marquee signs (SLM, SLMC, SLMCC)
  • Carved pumpkin overlay replaced with small icon by hotbar that indicates if hat is equipped or not.
  • SLMCS now features spruce garland cable.
  • SLT now has four bulbs per set to make them look better in sequence
  • Item icon scale fit inventory grid better, fixes to icons.

  • JACKS string received a flashing animation
  • LANTERN now flickers

Tweaks:

  • Changed texture resolution for the mini bulbs to make them pixel consistent (16x16)
  • Fixed a few icons and a holding glitch in third person

  • strings now have rudimentary icons

Tweaks:

  • fixed "incompatibility warning" on versions back to 1.21.5
  • strings moved to using named glowstone dust items to fix shaderpack glowing issues, and to make the gameplay make a bit more sense.
  • single bat string now uses mini bulbs
  • removed glow outline when bulbs appear off
  • animation timings changed across the range of strings
  • fixed third and first person positioning while holding
  • fixed how strings appear on ground
  • tweaked llama string
