Description

Programmer Art x Fresh Animations (Fresh Programmer Animations) is an addon resource pack that makes Programmer Art compatible with Fresh Animations (duh). It also comes with an extension pack that supports Fresh Animations Extensions and includes additional content of its own! (Refer to the bottom of this page to see the intended order of active resource packs)

Info

This pack does not aim to retexture mobs introduced in newer versions of the game to match the Programmer Art aesthetic, except in cases where those mobs are directly related to or derived from entities that existed earlier than 1.14.X (Such as Villagers and Illagers). Instead, the purpose of this resource pack is to modify/edit the textures of entities from Programmer Art so that they are fully compatible with Fresh Animations and can be animated correctly.

Content Overview (The Extension Pack contains most of the new content)

General (Base Pack)

  • Fully retextured Villagers. See the changelog for a complete overview of the changes.
  • Classic bats are back!

Special Renamed Variants (Extension Pack)

  • Rename a creeper to "Aww man" or "Creeper?! Aww man" to obtain the variants with red eyes inspired by "Revenge" by CaptainSparklez. Each has a 1% natural spawn chance.
  • Rename a pig to "Legend" to obtain the TechnoThePig variant. Equip it with a saddle to add a cape. Technoblade Never Dies!
  • Rename a pink sheep to "Pink Sheep" to obtain the variant inpired by ExplodingTNT's Pink Sheep character.
  • Rename a pink sheep to "Mr. Pink Sheep" to add the iconic thug life sunglasses to the variant above.
  • Rename a purple sheep to "Purple Shep" to obtain the variant inpired by ExplodingTNT's Purple Shep character.
  • Rename a slime to "Slamaslime" to obtain Slamacow's slime variant. It has a 2% natural spawn chance.

Pigmen (Extension Pack)

  • Classic Pigmen have been fully restored.
  • Pigmen have a 50% chance to use zombified piglin animations and a 50% chance to use zombie animations, preserving the classic appearance.
  • Pigmen have a 50% chance to spawn with a snout.
  • Pigmen wielding golden axes use a custom texture based on piglin brutes (Minecraft 1.21.5+ only, as there is an issue with NBT tags in previous versions).
  • Rename any pigman to "Legend" to give it a crown.

Additional Mob Variety (Extension Pack)

  • Chickens, cows, pigs, and sheep have a 50% chance to spawn without ears or tails. These variants add visual diversity while maintaining a more vanilla-friendly appearance.
  • Sheep in the Extension Pack feature dyed wool undercoats even in versions before 1.21.5, while sheep in the base pack do not have dyed wool on their heads (the undercoat part) even in versions after 1.21.5, to preserve the classic look. Their bodies do still have dyed undercoats though!

GENERAL:

  • Fixed pack.mcmeta formatting for 1.21.9+ and fixed compatibility with FA+All_Extensions-v1.7
  • IMPORTANT!!! The official FA+All_Extensions-v1.7 removed the Classic Horses Edit from the pack altogether to prioritise the Details Add-on (very weird decision imo fr fr) Because of this, the official Classic Horses Edit MUST be downloaded SEPARATELY and added to the list of active packs. To see the proper order of active packs please navigate to the bottom of this project's description. (sigh... will I really have to make the extensions separate too... last time proved that maintenance on this scale was too much to handle, imma need a Gapple)
  • Other smol fixes

GENERAL:

  • Fixed compatibility with FA 1.10.1 and restructured the pack. This pack is now lighter, a lot less complicated on the inside and works across many Minecraft versions without needing dedicated folders and custom folder paths for each Minecraft version.

BAT:

  • FINALLY implemented old bats that use the animations from FA! There are two naturally spawning variants, the classic bat and the 1.14 bat. The latter has a 1 in 10 spawn chance. HUGE thanks to @Kizzycocoa for providing the model, this would not be possible without them!

HORSE:

  • Fixed horse markings.

VILLAGER:

  • Butchers, clerics, farmers and librarians now have a 50% chance of spawning without hats, headbands and robe designs instead of always having them. This was made to preserve the classic villager look while also keeping some of the newer design elements.
  • Fixed a random spelling error.

ZOMBIE VILLAGER:

  • Butchers, clerics, farmers and librarians now have a 50% chance of spawning without hats, headbands and robe designs instead of always having them. This was made to preserve the classic villager look while also keeping some of the newer design elements.

GENERAL:

  • Fixed compatibility with FA Extensions 1.6 and restructured the pack. This pack is now lighter, a lot less complicated on the inside and works across many Minecraft versions without needing dedicated folders and custom folder paths for each Minecraft version.

CHEST:

  • Added the old chest textures.

CHICKEN:

  • Chickens now have a chance to use an unmodified texture (no tail). This was done to preserve the classic look and aesthetic while also keeping some of the newer design elements present.
  • Baby chickens have 2 new "golden" variants. Regular baby chickens still spawn most of the time.

COW:

  • Cows now have a 50% chance to use a model without ears and tails. This was done to preserve the classic look and aesthetic while also keeping some of the newer design elements present.

CREEPER:

  • Removed custom creeper variants added in FA Extensions 1.6

HORSE:

  • Fixed horse markings.

ILLAGER:

  • Removed illager helmets added in FA Extensions 1.6

PIGLIN/PIGMAN:

  • FINALLY, AFTER ALL THIS TIME, THE CLASSIC PIGMEN ARE COMPLETE. Pigmen have a 50% chance to have zombified piglin animations and a 50% chance to have zombie animations (to preserve the classic look). Additionally, there is a 50% chance that a pigman spawns with a SNOUT. Pigmen holding golden axes have a custom texture to match piglin brutes (1.21.5+ only, as there is an issue with nbt tags in previous versions). All pigmen can be renamed to "Legend" to equip them with Technoblade's crown. Huge thanks to @Kizzycocoa for providing and allowing the use of the base models for classic pigmen. (I STILL HAD TO MODIFY THEM TO MAKE THEM WORK WITH FA1.10.1/FAE1.6 AND ADD THE CROWN LAYER WHICH TOOK AGES BUT I AM PROUD OF MYSELF BECAUSE THAT WAS HAAAAARD BUT I DID IT yay)

PIG:

  • Pigs now have a 50% chance to use a model without ears. This was done to preserve the classic look and aesthetic while also keeping some of the newer design elements present.

SHEEP:

  • Added the "Pink Sheep" and "Mr. Pink Sheep" variants resembling the Pink Sheep from ExplodingTNT's videos. Rename a dyed sheep (pink specifically) to "Pink Sheep" or "Mr. Pink Sheep" (. is optional) to get the custom variants! The latter has MLG/Thug Life glasses. (I HAD TO RECONSTRUCT THE MUSTACHE AND THE GLASSES PIXEL BY PIXEL FROM SCREENSHOTS RAAAWR HELP)
  • The new sheep models and textures added in FA Extensions 1.6 have been "cancelled"/replaced. Sheep will continue to use the old model everybody is familiar with.
  • Sheep now have a 50% chance to use a model without ears. This was done to preserve the classic look and aesthetic while also keeping some of the newer design elements present.

VILLAGER:

  • Added variation to villager faces (Custom eyebrows, mustaches, beards etc)

ZOMBIE VILLAGER:

  • Added variation to zombie villager faces. Instead of custom eyebrows, mustaches or beards, the eyes taken from old zombie villager textures are now randomized. This was done to preserve the old zombie villager look (a smol side effect is that a villager with a beard (for example) won't have a beard when transformed into a zombie villager)

Probably something else I forgor, this update was a ton of work!

GENERAL:

  • Made an ULTRAGIGAHYPERMEGAMULTIALPHAMETAEXTRAUBERPREFIXPROMAXTON of necessary changes to most of the textures for the pack to be compatible with Fresh Animations 1.10. This required changing the implementation of the version overlay system as well. (I'm pretty sure there's a better way to say this)

GHAST:

  • Retextured Happy Ghasts and reverted the textures to their original resolution. The harnesses use the texture from Vanilla Tweaks as a base, the "saddles" have been retextured to use NEW horse saddle colors (the old brown looks kinda BLEH), the side belt thingy uses a mix of old pig saddle and old EMPTY SPLASH POTION colors (don't ask, it works) and the glasses use old EMPTY SPLASH POTION colors too. The ropes were also retextured and use old lead textures now. (I might change their resolution in the future, not sure if the current one works)
