Grimstone Deepslate

Bringing Back the Grim to The Underground

Grimstone meets deepslate, blending the old with the new. This pack aims to blend the official deepslate textures with the 21w07a grimstone in a way that takes the best from both.

Deepslate Ores

The pieces of ore in the official deepslate textures are untouched, with the deepslate background replaced with grimstone. This makes the ores blend seamlessly with any surrounding grimstone textured deepslate.

Unchanged Variants

This leaves the craftable deepslate block variants (and reinforced deepslate) untouched, avoiding some of the higher contrast texture shortcomings of other Caves & Cliffs snapshots, such as from 21w08a.

Deepslate

The only block fully replaced is deepslate, using the original 21w07a grimstone block, which uses the same texture on all sides, exactly as it came. Choices for all the crafted variants and ores were made based on what should visually flow well with it.

Deepslate as a name is not changed to grimstone, to stay faithful to the base game and its philosophy of not telling the player how they should feel.
