Title

chrissi's PvP Essentials is a lightweight all-in-one vanilla-like resource pack that includes:

  • Shorter Swords
  • Shorter Spears
  • Low Shield
  • Low Fire
  • No Pumpkin Blur
  • Better Powder Snow

and all of that, in a very lightweight way.

Please note: This resource pack is Java Edition only and exclusively hosted on Modrinth. The source code is available on GitHub. If you'd like to get in touch, feel free to join my Discord server.

Information

This pack is lightweight and compatible with modern Minecraft versions. All textures & modifications are self-made, crafted with love and care. ♥️

  • Changed the folder structure for 1.8.9 compatibility
  • Retextured all sword textures to match their original 1.8.9 appearance
    • Fixed an issue where the Wooden and Golden sword textures were not displaying correctly in-game

This is a ALPHA Release - expect bugs or other issues.

This will likely be the last update to the 1.8.9 backport for the foreseeable future. As originally planned, I want to focus my time and resources on maintaining and improving support for modern Minecraft versions. Interest in the backport seems low, so further updates are currently not planned.

  • Updated pack format from 55 to 63
  • Now compatible with Minecraft 1.21.6
  • Slightly reduced file size
  • Fixed an issue where the resource pack was not showing properly in newer Minecraft versions. (sorry for that)
    • The issue was fixed by rewriting the pack.mcmeta file

  • I added the JSON object "supported_formats" to the pack.mcmeta file. It describes a range for pack formats that this pack supports.

Here's how it looks in the pack.mcmeta file:

With this setting, the pack will be compatible with all Minecraft versions that use pack formats between 18 and 55. As a result, you'll see broader version support starting with this release.
