A resource pack for Minecraft Transit Railway.

Overview

The British Rail Class 153 Super Sprinter is a class of Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) converted from 35 British Rail Class 155s originally produced by Leyland Bus. During the late 80s, shortly after British Rail (Regional Railways sector) took delivery of the 35 Class 155 units, a need for replacing aging railcars such as Class 121 Bubble Cars was required, leading to RR deciding to convert all Class 155s they had into railcars to accomplish this. The 7 units delivered for West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (155341-155347) were not included in this plan.

The work took place from 1991 to 1992 by Hunslet-Barclay (Now Brodie Engineering) in their Kilmarnock plant. The conversion involves reclassifying these Class 155s as Class 153s and removing the luggage rack on the end of the vehicle (originally without a cab) and retrofitting it with a cab (the "B" end).

These units are fitted with BSI couplers to allow them to work with other Pacer, Sprinter and/or Turbostar units.

Currently, Transport for Wales Rail and ScotRail operate 30 and 5 Class 153s respectively.

This resource pack is to add Class 153 to Minecraft with Minecraft Transit Railway mod, made by Navi_LX9702 in 2025.
