What is TrueEssentials?

These days EssentialsX is filled with various "utility" commands which are mostly never used and override vanilla ones. Using this plugin, you only get the basics and you can toggle more features to your liking! This allows you to have the perfect core plugin, to your liking, without missing out on features YOU might consider important.

Essentially (pun intended), TrueEssentials is a core utility plugin for your server, packed with useful commands such as gamemode shortcuts (gmc, gms, etc), basic moderation utilities such as /invsee (more coming soon!), and other useful features your server might need.

Placeholder support

This plugin has simple built-in placeholders, but using PlaceholderAPI is strongly recommended for the full experience.

Message formatting

For all messages, Mini Message formatting and Legacy Color Codes are supported.

Metrics & data collections

Starting with version 1.1, TrueEssentials will collect anonymous statistics including the number of servers running TrueEssentials, the number of players, etc. using bStats, an open-source statistics service for Minecraft software. You can opt out in /plugins/bStats/config.yml. You can check out bStats' website here.

What's new

  1. I finally figured out how to make commands modular! Although that is the case, due to some limitations, you will have to restart your server to enable/disable extensions, as commands cannot be modularly registered. You can still reload extensions normally to change settings.

Once again this is a reupload because I forgot to remove some stuff... I think I need a reminder because it's the second time I've done this :(

  1. Added /vanish to the Moderation extension
  2. Fixed the quit message not getting removed if the extension was disabled.

What's new

Added the Moderation extension. This adds moderation-related features, including bans with custom durations via the config, warns, logs for punishments, and customizable menus for bans and warns.

The ban configuration is quite simple: You are able to specify durations within the configuration file. Durations automatically follow the amount of times the player has been banned. More information is available in the configuration file.

Due to various technical issues which I have not managed to resolve yet, disabled commands will (unfortunely) override vanilla commands. I apologize for the issues this may cause. I do plan on solving this issue in a later build.

Important

To update to the latest version, you must delete your old configuration file so TrueEssentials can generate a new one.

Added a brand new extension, the Command Manager!

With this extension, you can select which commands will appear when the player types a command in chat. For example, you can hide your plugins with this extension.

A deletion of the config file is required to use this extension.

  2. Added a new option in the join and quit message extension that allows you to configure the join message when a player first joins your server.

To apply the Join and quit message changes, you must delete your configuration file so TrueEssentials can generate a new one. (I know it's wack, I'm going to improve it later down the road)
