SkyRandom is a fast-paced Paper mini-game built for small PvP matches on floating pillars.
Players join a lobby, get sent into a random arena, and fight through multiple rounds while the game drops random loot above them. Drops can include useful blocks, weak and strong tools, strange utility items, potion effects, mobs, and chaotic surprises.
How matches work:
Each match lasts 10 rounds.
Throughout all 10 rounds, placed blocks, dropped items, water, and other arena changes remain in place.
After the 10th round, the arena is fully cleared, and players are moved to a different arena
SkyRandom is a server plugin, not a mod, so it cannot be used in singleplayer.
To use SkyRandom, you must install it on a Paper server:

Looking Ahead
I’m also planning to build my own server around SkyRandom, with an expanded and more polished version of the experience. This plugin is only the beginning, and I want to keep improving it with new ideas, better maps, and more unique gameplay over time.

Hey everyone! SkyRandom 1.2.0-beta.2 is here with Minecraft 26.2 support and a new chaotic Sulfur Cube event.
This update brings SkyRandom forward to Minecraft 26.2 and adds a new rare surprise during matches: a Sulfur Cube can spawn near a player with primed TNT already inside. If you see one appear, you only have a few seconds before it explodes, so move fast.

Welcome to the first beta of SkyRandom 1.2.0!
This update introduces Random Events, a new optional feature designed to make matches feel a little less predictable and a lot more chaotic. Some events can help you, some can make things harder, and some are just there to create funny moments.
Random Events can be enabled or disabled by the host before the match starts.
If enabled, the first event can happen around 25-40 seconds after the game begins. After that, new events may appear every 45-75 seconds.
When an event starts, you'll see a message like:

New
Added optional Random Events (BETA).
Added a host setting to enable or disable Random Events.
Added the Mace to the ultra rare drop pool.
Added rare random enchantments for weapons and tools. Improvements
Weapons, tools, and Maces can now occasionally spawn with random compatible enchantments.
Stronger enchantments are much rarer than weaker ones.
Some items can rarely receive multiple enchantments.
Lucky Drops can now reward more exciting enchanted gear.
Events:
Added Low Gravity. For 15 seconds, everyone jumps higher and falls slower.
Added Lucky Drops. For 10 seconds, drops only use rare loot groups.
Added Resistance. All active players receive Resistance I for 15 seconds.
Added Sudden Hunger. For 15 seconds, players gradually lose hunger.
But don't worry! your original hunger level is restored when the event ends.
Random Events are still in beta, so don't be surprised if some values change in future updates. This is the first public test, and your feedback will help shape the feature before the full 1.2.0 release.

Hey everyone! SkyRandom 1.1.0 is a big update with new arenas, a new optional Shrinking Zone modifier, and better tools for hosts.
This update adds three new arenas: Frozen Peaks, Crystal Cavern, and Trial Chamber, along with the new optional Shrinking Zone modifier. Each arena has its own style, while Shrinking Zone gradually reduces the playable area during a match and can shrink all the way down to 16 blocks in the final phase.
New
• Added the new Frozen Peaks arena.
• Added the new Crystal Cavern arena.
• Added the new Trial Chamber arena (experimental).
• Added the optional Shrinking Zone (BETA) modifier.
• Added a second final Shrinking Zone phase, which can shrink the arena down to 16 blocks.
• Added Flint and Steel to the random drop pool.
• Added map icons to the host map selection menu.
Improvements
• Host map selection is now more visual and easier to understand.
This is probably the biggest SkyRandom update so far. I wanted to get the update out today as planned, so some parts of Shrinking Zone are still marked as BETA and may change in future updates. Feedback and bug reports are always welcome!

Hey everyone! SkyRandom 1.0.1 is a small update focused on safer arena resets, better spectator tools, and more natural Sudden Night behavior.
New
• Added a new Sudden Night setting for mob spawning during the event.
• Added safe arena cleanup after matches.
• Added a spectator teleport item in the second slot.
• Spectators can now choose an active player from a menu and teleport to them.
Improvements
• Arena cleanup now runs gradually instead of removing everything at once, reducing lag after large matches.
• Sudden Night mob spawning uses vanilla Minecraft night spawning instead of custom mobs spawning near players.
• Sudden Night mob spawning can now be turned on or off by the host.
Fixes
• Fixed heavy arena cleanup potentially causing lag spikes.

SkyRandom is now officially out of release candidate status. This release focuses on polishing the host settings experience and fixing the last gameplay issues found during RC testing.
New
• Added a Reset to Defaults button to Game Settings, letting the lobby host quickly restore the classic setup: random map, 10 rounds before reset, Sudden Night after 3 minutes, 5-second item drops, and autostart enabled.
Fixes
• Fixed Always Sudden Night so it now works as intended: when a round starts with this option enabled, Sudden Night begins immediately and stays active until the round ends.
• Fixed several final release bugs and edge cases discovered during RC testing.

• This is the stable 1.0.0 release, replacing the previous rc.1 build.

Hey everyone! This update moves SkyRandom from beta to the first release candidate and adds a much better host settings flow and fixing important bugs.

• Reworked the Lobby Host settings item into a cleaner Game Settings menu.
• Added a dedicated Map Selection menu, so maps are now selected from a list instead of cycling instantly when clicked.
• Added a Game Speed menu for item drop intervals.
• The host can now choose between Fast, Classic, and Slow item drops.
• Added expanded Sudden Night settings.
• The host can now turn on Always Sudden Night, or set Sudden Night to start after N minutes.

• The Game Settings menu now lets the host change the item drop speed, with 3-second, 5-second, and 10-second options instead of only the classic 5-second timing.
• Classic item drop timing remains 5 seconds by default.
• Replaced disconnected white glass panes in the lobby with full white stained glass blocks.
