Features

  • OpenInv: Open anyone's inventory, even if they're offline.
    • Read-only mode! Don't grant edit permission.
    • Cross-world support! Allow access only from the same world.
    • No duplicate slots! Only armor is accessible when opening self (if allowed at all)!
    • Drop items as the player! Place items in the dropper slot in the bottom right. Can be disabled via permission!
    • Allow any item in armor slots! Configurable via permission.
  • OpenEnder: Open anyone's ender chest, even if they're offline.
    • Allow access only to own ender chest! Don't grant permission to open others.
    • Read-only mode! Don't grant edit permission.
    • Cross-world support! Allow access only from the same world.
  • SilentContainer: Open containers without displaying an animation or making sound.
  • AnyContainer: Open containers, even if blocked by cats or blocks.
  • Resource Pack Support: Personalize view using resource pack tricks like custom fonts and characters. See the wiki for details.

Announcement

The communities I'm involved in have moved away from Minecraft. As a result, I don't have a finger on the pulse and don't notice when updates happen. I'm still happy to update OI, but I need your help! If Minecraft updates and you don't see a pull request working on it, please open an issue to let me know.

What's Changed

  • Add support for 26.2
    • Thank you to @kalkafox for producing an initial adapter for Paper 26.2.
    • Spigot is no longer using versioned packages, so expect to see Spigot supporting similar versions to Paper as time goes on.
  • Drop support for 1.21.6-1.21.8
  • Replaced link listing for unsupported versions with a new wiki page: https://github.com/Jikoo/OpenInv/wiki/Supported-Versions
    • Since most people see the unsupported version message when Minecraft updates rather than when trying to install modern OI on an ancient server, it's easier to have an externally-maintainable listing rather than include known versions at the time into each release. This will also allow me to post announcements when updates are in-progress, making it easier for you to find out what the status is by checking a single place.

  • Fix certain additional Bukkit data not saving correctly for offline players

What's Changed

  • Added permissions for usage of container modes when toggled by an addon by @Kawi16
    • This allows integrations to enable Silent/AnyContainer without granting access to the corresponding toggle commands.
  • Improved offline fuzzy search
    • Instead of reading every single player file from disk when doing a fuzzy match, we now do a single lookup. This is a massive performance boost for servers that have high player counts or run on spinning disks.
    • Searches now require that the first character of the target player's name be correct (case-insensitive). For Geyser-like names, this extends to the first character of their real name. For example, "XxXJohnMinecraftXxX" can no longer be located by a "johnminecraft" search. A search for "xjohnminecraft" could be used instead. A Geyser player ".FranMinecraft" would require ".f" to be eligible, i.e. "franmc" cannot produce the correct result while ".franmc" might.
