ItemCap Plugin ⚖️

ItemCap is a lightweight but powerful Minecraft plugin focused on keeping your server fair and balanced by limiting how many specific items players can craft or own. It is ideal for competitive environments, helping prevent hoarding of powerful or rare items such as god apples, maces, or other end-game resources.

Designed with flexibility and performance in mind, ItemCap gives server administrators full control while remaining easy to configure and maintain.

ℹ️ Per-Player Limit Setup Notice

To use per-player item limits, you must first:

  1. Set the item using
    /ic set (item) (ammount) (or any desired global amount)
  2. Open /ic menu and enable/edit the per-player limit for that item inside the GUI.

Per-player limits will not apply unless the item is registered first. Be advised that -1 means unlimited, and its the default setting for per-player limit

📜 Commands (use /itemcap or /ic)

  • /ic reload
    (Reloads the plugin configuration)

  • /ic set (item) (amount) (effect) (amplifier)
    (Sets a max cap for an item, -1 means unlimited — effects are optional)

  • /ic reset (item)
    (Resets the current count of a specific item back to 0, or resets all items by using all)

  • /ic check
    (Shows limited items, availability, max caps, and previous leak data)

  • /ic menu
    (Opens the admin GUI for item & effect management and plugin reloads)

  • /ic help
    (Displays the command list)

  • /ic version
    (Shows the plugin version)

  • /chesttracktest
    (Debug command to test tracker warning messages)

ItemCap 2.1.2 - Bug fixes and compatibility added

Last small update before version 3.0.0

What is fixed?

  • Fixed enderchest block not working
  • Curse of Vanish not refunding on death
  • Added %player% to the config.yml messages!

What to expect?

  1. Unless new major bugs are found the next version is gonna have more config tweaks, such as whether or not you are allowed to store the limited items in shulkers, armor stands, etc...
  2. Per player count, limiting the amount of limited items that player can have in his inventory!

ItemCap v2.1.1 — Important Bug Fix Update

A big thanks to "Finn" from our Discord, who helped discover a bug.

This update fixes a problem where, in very specific situations, the game could think an item was gone when it actually wasn’t. This could let players dupe limited item.

What changed

  • Fixed a bug where dropped items could be miscounted when the world unloaded them temporarily.
  • Fixed some behind-the-scenes tracking issues that could cause errors during inventory use.
  • Improved overall stability and safety of item tracking.

🔧 How to change the language

To change the plugin language, open config.yml and:

1- Replace "en" with one of the language codes listed above.

2- Restart the server.

3- Done!

ℹ️ Important Notes

The translation system affects all plugin messages and GUI text

Custom messages defined in config.yml (editable by the server owner)

❗ are NOT translated, by design

If a translation key is missing, the plugin will safely fall back to English

ItemCap 2.0.0

Key Changes & Features:

  1. Admin GUI (/ic menu) – Full interface to manage limited items, add effects, and reload the plugin.

  2. Bypass Permissions – ItemCap.bypass.ender allows OP users to bypass the enderchest item block.

  3. Enhanced System – Optimized code, safer GUIs, void destruction and all other survival item ways of destruction now tracked.

  4. Effects - Now you can add effects to the limited items, motivating people to have them in their inventories!

New Commands:

  • /ic menu (Opens the admin GUI for item/effect management and plugin reloads)

New Permissions:

  • ItemCap.admin (Access the admin GUI (/ic menu) to manage limited items, apply effects, and reload the plugin)
