Ever dreamt of having a free, high quality and up to date hopper filtering plugin?

Filtering Hoppers is exactly what you've been looking for. It's a free, high quality, up to date and open source alternative to other hopper filtering plugins you can find out there. It even supports Folia!

It can also collect items either in a chunk, or in a radius around hoppers and limit the amount of hoppers in a chunk, effectively reducing lag by lowering hopper checks every tick and item entities on the ground!

Adding items to a hopper's filter is as easy as shift + right clicking a hopper and clicking items in your inventory. You can change back and forth between a whitelist and a blacklist by clicking on the white or black glass pane in the corner of the filter!

And for those of you who happen to have communities with members who don't all speak the same language, everything in this plugin is translatable!
If you wish to add languages or edit the pre-existing languages for your players, simply follow the instructions given in any of both language files distributed with the plugin in the plugins/FilteringHoppers/lang folder!

  • Filters are now 9 items larger, reducing the amount of hoppers needed even more!

Another small update, but not without meaning.. This is the first update to contain code contributed by someone other than me! Huge thanks to sialim for contributing!

  • Confirmed 26.2 support!
  • Changes to hopper inventories is now done on the proper threads when using Folia, idea from sialim's contribution
  • Update checking/downloading is now done by the same updater
  • Update checking/downloading at server start is now async, courtesy of sialim
  • Fixed edge case issue where the plugin would throw an error when adding items to a hopper manually in code, courtesy of sialim and extended by myself
  • Fixed issue where config would desync even when reloaded in some rare cases, courtesy of sialim
  • Fixed issue where item destruction wouldn't be reliable all the time
  • Fixed another duplication bug, details undisclosed for now

So apparently, I can't manage to make a single stable update! I sure hope this one will be...

  • Fixed duplication glitch related to item placement in the chest above a hopper
  • Fixed another duplication glitch related to the amount of items a hopper would move at a time

So it turns out I overlooked one of the fixes in the previous version... Next time I'll sleep some more...

  • ACTUALLY fixed whitelist behaving as blacklist and vice versa when dropping an item on a hopper with item collection off

More tweaking and once again, feature! Truly proud to be making this plugin!

  • Added FILTER MODES! You can now be even more specific on how to filter your items! All filters can be stacked on top of each other, and can be inverted with whitelist/blacklist mode!
    • Filter by type will only allow items of the same type as other items in your filter through!
    • Filter by metadata (compares item display name, lore etc...)
    • Filter by enchanted (will only allow enchanted items through!)
  • Fixed an issue where whitelist would behave as blacklist and vice versa when dropping an item on a hopper with item collection off
  • Fixed an issue where blocked items wouldn't be destroyed by hoppers with item destruction on with item collection off

I've got some sweet ideas for future updates so, stay on the lookout! I've been awake for 22 hours now, I'm going to sleep...

I swear, these bugs/oversights are like the hydra. Fix one, two more appear...

  • Added a new toggle to your hoppers... item destruction! You can now choose whether blocked items are kept, or destroyed! The toggle takes the form of a green/red glass pane in the filter!
  • Commands now also play a sound depending on their outcome!
  • The auto-updater now pulls the updated plugin file from Modrinth instead of Spigot!
  • Fixed oversight which made blacklisted items able to be picked up by hoppers when dropped right onto it
  • Fixed an issue that spammed players with "You do not have permission to do that!" due to the way the Brigadier command system works

Some more mistakes I need to fix and new stuff... Here goes!

  • When running on Paper, the plugin now registers using Paper's system instead!
  • With the update above comes new command organization! /fh item-collection is moved to /item-collection!
  • This also means that permissions under filteringhoppers.set.item-collection are moved to filteringhoppers.item-collection! (This should be the last time I move permissions, sorry!)
  • Fixed compatibility with Folia for items moved from any container to a hopper (the event wouldn't be fired because of a listener priority issue)
  • Fixed an issue that would let items through the filter that shouldn't because of an early return when moving from any container to a hopper
  • Brand new plugin overview both on Spigot and Modrinth!

This update means better compatibility with Paper and better maintainability for me in the future. I hope your day goes well, and that you enjoy FH as much as I enjoy maintaining it!

I realized after messing around for a tad longer after I released 1.2.3 that there was a massive issue. Due to the way Paper works internally with hoppers, the issue described below would occur.

  • Fixed a critical issue that erased entire stacks of items if they happened to be in the filter and the first item in the inventory

I only now exited the tunnel vision I was stuck to after resting for a while, I'm terribly sorry that an item loss bug was out in the wild for so long
