Fixed

Crop searches no longer force-load unloaded chunks, which could cause severe lag spikes near chunk borders. Removed a cleanup routine that iterated every entity on the server on each chunk load. Fixed a counter leak that could permanently stop bees from working in a chunk after the original bee flew away or died. Improved

Crop detection now uses a single combined scan instead of two, reads block types without creating objects, and skips unloaded chunks — over 100× less work per search. Crop searches are now spread out: a limited number run per cycle (performance.max-scans-per-cycle), so server cost stays flat no matter how many bees are loaded. Bees that find no crops nearby now wait before searching again (bee.scan-retry-seconds) instead of re-scanning every second. Container search for harvested items is a single early-exiting pass instead of one full scan per container type. Config values are cached instead of being read from disk structures every tick. Config — new keys added automatically with safe defaults; existing settings are kept:

bee.detection-radius-vertical (default 5) — how far up/down bees look for crops; set to your detection-radius to restore the old full-cube behavior. bee.scan-retry-seconds (default 10) — wait before a bee searches again after finding nothing. performance.max-scans-per-cycle (default 4) — max crop searches per task cycle.

• Bees now harvest fully grown crops automatically

• Bees will search for nearby storage containers (chests, hoppers, barrels)
• They'll automatically find the closest available chest within 10 blocks
• You can customize which types of containers bees prefer in the config

3. Full Configuration Options

A new config.yml file lets you customize everything:

Bee Behavior

• Cooldown: How long bees wait before helping another crop (default: 30 seconds)
• Growth Time: How fast bees grow crops (default: 5 seconds)
• Detection Range: How far bees can see crops (default: 15 blocks)
• Chunk Limit: Maximum bees working in one area (default: 3 per chunk)

Particle Effects

• Turn particles ON or OFF completely
• Control growth particles (while working)
• Control completion particles (when done)

Harvesting Options

• Enable/disable automatic harvesting
• Choose which containers bees prefer (chests, hoppers, barrels, etc.)
• Set how far bees search for storage (default: 10 blocks)

1. Install the plugin - Drop it in your plugins folder and restart the server

3. Want to customize? - Edit the config.yml file in the plugins/beeblessing folder
4. Reload changes - Use /beeblessing reload in-game to apply new settings without restarting
