Wildfire Additions

This add-on for ProtoManly's Weather overhauls the way players combat wildfires in their world. The mod adds several new items and includes integration with Immersive Aircraft to provide players with aerial firefighting tools.

Pump Box and Hose

The pump box is a new block that can act as a personal tool to deal with smaller fires. The pump box must be placed adjacent to a water source to function. When shift-right-clicked with an empty hand, a hose will connect the player to the box. Right click to spray a stream of water. The range of this hose is 50 blocks and can get tangled. Shift right click the box to stowe the hose.

🔥 Drip Torch

The drip torch is an item with similar functionality to flint and steel, with the caveat that fires ignited by the torch will not grow out of control. In the presence of a wildfire, the flames created by the torch will burn towards the blaze, starving the wildfire of fuel downwind. If no wildfire is present, the flames will spread slightly, fizzle, and die in place.

🧯 Retardant Sprayer

This item acts as a personal applicator for fire retardant. When used, the sprayer coats a 3x3 area in front of the player with a layer of red retardant. This makes it nearly (but not) impossible for fire to spread through the coat and ignite the underlying block. The sprayer is an effective tool for creating breaks in a fire line or protecting specific structures in the path of a wildfire. A retardant coat lasts 10 minutes (by default) and will disappear after.

Fire Sprinkler

This item acts as an automated defense system that protects a ~25 block radius around it. It must be placed on top of a pump box to function and serves as an effective and passive point-Defense tool. Right click the turret to toggle activation.

Immersive Aircraft Integration

If immersive aircraft is installed alongside the add-on, two new items become available. An aircraft tank, when right-clicked on any immersive aircraft, will equip it for firefighting. This will allow water- or fire-retardant buckets placed in the aircraft's inventory to be dropped from above (unbound keybinds by default). Fire-retardant buckets serve as ammo for the aircraft and can be crafted using a water bucket and magma cream.
