CoolAid's Village and Pillage Tweaks

A collection of server-side tweaks to villagers and pillagers!

  • Hands Off My Block: Shift click a villager workstation block using a stick by default (or any configurable minecraft: item_ID) to restrict villagers from accessing them
  • Dynamic Raid Spawn Radius: Allows changing the spawn radius of raid waves via a simple config slider
  • Named Traders: Naming wandering traders and their llamas will prevent them from despawning
  • Trapdoor Tweaks: Greatly improves upon villager AI, helping them get unstuck in a few scenarios
  • Ignore Unarmed Pillagers: Pillagers without their crossbows will not affect villagers or golems
  • Crop Trample Threshold: Configurable fall distance before entities can trample crops
  • Config screen lets you toggle each of these features (All mob behavior changes are disabled by default
  • Required on the dedicated server-side and optionally client-side for some functionality

Will I backport this mod?

Probably not, but maybe. If it's requested then I'm more likely to get around to it. Like most of my mods, I created this collection of features to provide some tweaks I enjoy using on my personal Hardcore world, so things like proper multiplayer compatibility and NeoForge support are not always guaranteed or fully tested.

That being said, does it work on dedicated servers?

The original Hands Off My Block as well as Raid Spawn Radius mod implementations were tested on dedicated server environments and confirmed to work fine. However, further testing would be appreciated.

  • Bumped to v1.2.0 and updated README
  • Added Crop Trample Threshold config, with vanilla's 0.5 blocks as default
  • Implemented server-side farmland logic so entities use the configured trample threshold (players are unaffected)
  • Added the option 'Ignore Unarmed Pillagers' where villagers and other mobs that flee from pillagers no longer treat unarmed pillagers as hostile. Iron golems, snow golems, and trader llamas also stop targeting unarmed pillagers
  • Removed 'Miscellaneous Tweaks' category and merged most config options into new "Mob Behavior Changes"
  • Updated en_us and ko_kr translations

  • Fixes a BIG oversight where data is not saved when upgrading pre-existing worlds to 26.1 under the new directories.
    • Added HandsOffMyWorldDataMigrator which runs on server start and copies handsoffmyblock_marked.dat from the old pre-26.1 flat dimension paths
  • More details provided in HandsOffMyMarkedBlocksData and HandsOffMyWorldDataMigrator. Apologies to anyone who may have downloaded the deleted Modrinth version

  • Lots of client-side tweaks and UI reliability fixes specifically when playing on servers
  • Fixed Fabric config screen title widget creation so it is only created once
  • Disabled the marker item EditBox and all client config toggles on multiplayer servers
  • Updated translations, and added a new localized message key message.actionbar.onServer for en_us and ko_kr.
  • Added tooltips to disabled config controls on multiplayer servers using the onServer message.
  • Updated keybind behavior on multiplayer servers:
    • show_markings and require_sneaking keybinds no longer change local client config when on servers, they will now display the same onServer actionbar message instead
