Static Badge

Vanilla Parity is a data pack that aims to resolve some parity issues between Minecraft Bedrock and Java, where some features only exist in one version and not the other. This data pack achieves this by bringing over Bedrock-exclusive features over to Java Edition.

Notable Features

  • Advancements from Bedrock and Legacy versions.
  • Beds and wool can be re-dyed by crafting.
  • Cobwebs can be crafted into 9 string.
  • Campfires and candles can be ignited by walking on them while on fire.
  • Curing time for zombie villagers are now shorter and at a fixed time duration.
  • Armor stands have arms when placed.
  • Fallen trees and coral clusters.
  • Respawn anchors keep their charge when mined with Silk Touch.
  • Shulker drops are affected by Looting, dropping up to 4 shells.
  • Tridents with Loyalty return to the player when thrown in the void.

Revoked Version

This data pack also has an alternative "Revoked Version" that doesn't add in the advancement from the original, for those who want to use this along other data packs in their world. Link can be found here.

*This data pack is made at which extraction is not required. It also contains world generation features that may not be compatible with other data packs that have such features.

  • Updated for 1.20-1.20.1 use.
  • The "Librarian" advancement now requires placing a bookshelf near an enchanting table, rather than having placed an enchanting table before then.

Removed

  • Recipes for re-dyeing wool and beds within the data pack.
  • Recipe for crafting string from cobwebs.
  • All functonality from Snowy++, due to new snowAccumulationHeight gamerule.

  • Optimized how baby zombie jockeys work. No longer is it janky and heavy on performance.
  • Raider bonus loot chance is now determined by difficulty, with 65% on Easy and Normal, and 80% on Hard.
  • Optimized the way entity selectors worked within the data pack, making it less heavy on performance.
  • "Free Diver" and "Sleep with the Fishes" advancements have been relocated to better fit the category it's in

Retraction

The following feature has been removed from the data pack, as it has now been officially added:

  • Juke boxes play note particles when playing music

New Additions

  • A new trigger command that simply sends out a link to report any issues when using this data pack. syntax: trigger vp.reportLink
  • Candles light up when walking while on fire

Changes

  • Buried treasure now generate in stony shores
  • Spawn bonus chests now contains carrots and potatoes

Retraction

This data pack has now come to a phase where any parity issues resolved within the pack are now official. As such, any features affected will now be obsolete and be removed from the data pack, to prevent any confusion and further close the gap of parity

  • Carrot on a stick recipe is no longer shapeless
  • Warped fungus on a stick recipe is no longer shapeless
