Overview

Things is a collection of many small and a few bigger items and features that I feel enhance the vanilla experience in a mostly non-intrusive way

Curios API is required for versions before 1.17

Trinkets API is required for versions 1.17 and onwards

Most items have minimalistic documentation in their tooltip, Patchouli is highly recommended however as there is a very fleshed out book. You get this when first loading into a world, and can also make a new one by Right-Clicking Gleaming Ore with a book.

Quick Walkthrough of some of the more notable items:

Displacement Tome

The Displacement Tome is an item inspired by Warp Book and it's many clones that allows you to teleport to up to 8 locations and uses Ender Pearls as fuel. It is very expensive in a semi-vanilla context, in bigger modpacks it would need to be balanced though

Bater Wucket

The Bater Wucket is an infinite water bucket. That's it

Ender Pouch

The Ender Pouch is a portable Ender Chest accessed through a Keybind

Enchanted Wax Gland

The Enchanted Wax Gland is inspired by Trinkets and Bauble's Stone of the Sea. It makes you float in water and also gives a great speed boost. You can also combine with another item to even make it work in Lava!

  • Gleaming Ore can now be mined properly even when the pickaxe has enchantments besides Silk Touch (this has nothing to do with the previous fix we swear)

Changes

  • Updated to support 1.21 - support for older versions will be dropped
  • As part of the port to 1.21, Things now uses Accessories instead of Trinkets to implement its accessory items. Accessories is available on both Fabric and NeoForge and also supports other mods still built using Trinkets. Check its mod page for more information

  • The new Bempty Ucket is a counterpart to the Bater Wucket which allows picking up (and thereby voiding) infinite amounts of any fluid (#85)

This build includes a newer version of Lavender to fix compatiblity with JourneyMap waypoint rendering (and possibly some other mods as well). As a consequence of this change, the latest 1.20.1 releases of Conjuring and Victus are required as well - older versions of those mods will crash

Additions

  • The Broken Watch's in-world crafting method is now integrated into REI
  • The 'Jumpy' attribute on socks is now toggled through a new keybind (defaults to caps-lock) instead of prolonged sneaking while sprinting

Changes

  • Text wrapping in tooltips now uses Minecraft's built-in systems to fix a few edge-cases and preserve text styling
  • Ported to 1.20.2
