
Survivor's Elegy
A vanilla expansion datapack which adds plenty of items, mechanics and reworks some already existing mechanics. Designed to add cohesiveness and interesting features to the game.

Welcome to Survivor's Elegy, an extensive datapack designed to add cohesiveness and interesting features to your survival world! Some of the features added are the following:
Game Mechanics
Typing /function siscu:config in the chat will open up a menu
Extended Daytime
Adjust the length of the day with ease! Access the config menu and make your days more relaxed. By default a day now lasts 40 minutes.
Rotting
Zombified creatures will rot until they're just a sack of bones. By extension, this also adds new skeleton variants: Piglin Skeletons, Illager Skeletons, Husks and more!
Withering
Overworld creatures staying in the nether for a long time will be affected the withering ilness! This slow death can be avoided by staying on other dimensions, which will gradually cure withered entities, or delayed by eating warped wart food, which will extend the time of invulnerability. But beware! Eating too much of said food is not good, and you'll start experimenting side effects if consumed recklessly.
Zombifying
An Infected Zombie has been added, with the ability to inflict a virus on other creatures! Mobs infected with the Phage effect, will be slowly converted into their zombified counterparts. If there's no such entity, they will get poisoned to death. Players can be infected by this too, beware!
Cauldron Cooking
A culinary revolution has been brought with the introduction of the Ladle, which allows turning cauldrons into cooking pots! Mix foods in boiling water to get customised broths. A single potion can also be added to the mix, creating the superfood of your dreams!
Worldgen
Updated Swamp Hut
Swamp Huts have been boring since they were added. This pack changes them so it's a full-fledged house with multiple enemies and a vast amount of loot and information!
New Nether Biome: Withered Grounds
Dark desolated biome with vast amounts of undead withered corpses. Be prepared if you plan on adventuring here, the wither is watching closely!
New nether biomes: Metamorphic Caves
Why do blazes only spawn on nether fortresses? In this datapack blazes expand out of their cages and to this extra hot biome, where fire springs are common and lava rivers flood the ground.
Expanded Nether Fortresses
Nether Fortresses have been redesigned to depict a desolate fort, a refuge now filled with withered corpses. A decayed portal sits at the center of the city...
Desert Wells
Desert wells will now reward the player if it drops a golden ingot in it. This will work only once.
Piglin Crevices
Blackstone towers split in half, held together by massive chains. Brimming with piglins, brutes and treasure!
No Spawners
Survivor's Elegy makes his best effort to completely remove spawners from vanilla generation. This aims for balancing out the progression tree, removing xp farms from the equation. Currently the only spawners spawning with the pack are magma cubes on bastions and silverfish on strongholds.
Entities
- Illagers now equip torches on their offhand if they're on dark places.
- Endermen can spawn holding a wide range of blocks from all dimensions.
- Breeding Pigs now gives birth to 1-4 piglets.
- Zombies, Drowneds, Husks, Skeletons, Wither Skeletons, Piglins and Zombified Piglins now spawn with new equipment.
- Wandering Trader Llamas can now spawn already chested and with different carpets.
- Players, Piglins, Hoglins and Zoglins now drop their heads if killed by a charged creeper.
Sculk Plantoid
A plant-like entity that can be placed on decorated pots. Its favorite food is experience, which can be really handy for storing yours!
Mirage
A mirage will copy whatever you desire do display. A deployable illusion to showcase items without having to place them!
Items
Enchanter's Guide
This special book now replaces the regular book on the Enchanting Table recipe, serving as the magical source of the Enchanting process.
Netherite Horse Armor
Upgrade a Diamond Horse Armor in the Smithing Table to get a tougher gear for your mount!
Copper Tridents
Tridents can now be crafted by upgrading a lightning rod with a heart of the sea.
Outpost Compass
Dropped by pillager patrol leaders on duty, they point to the nearest pillager outpost.

- Added "siscu:recipes/root" advancement and "siscu:root" recipe. Granting any of those to the player will unlock all new or modified datapack recipes to be shown on its crafting stations
- Added "Smooth Criminal" advancement for wearing a Top Hat with a weapon in it
- Added all chicken egg variants can be cooked into Fried Eggs
- Added Baby Parched
- Added breaking filled Broth Cauldrons on top of Lava Cauldrons will place an obsidian block and drop a cauldron
- Added Cave Spiders will remove Cave Spider Spawners around them on generation
- Added Copper Spears can oxidise
- Added cracked Iron Golems now will heal 25 HP every 15 seconds when standing near villagers that can repair them. Those are villagers with the professions of Armorer, Toolsmith or Weaponsmith. They can only be repaired when not angry
- Added Evokers spawned outside of mansions won't drop a totem of undying if they use it. This lowers the amount of totems per raid by 50%
- Added Gunpowder can now be crafted with 1 coal/charcoal, 1 bonemeal and 1 sulfur spike
- Added Iron Golems now chase zombified players
- Added Mount Catalyst enchantment now also takes the Thorns enchantment. It acts 50% of the time, always as if it was Thorns II
- Added Parched can now wither away. They will keep the parched headgear
- Added Shield Nerf config menu. It can be used to toggle the nerf on and off. It's accessed through the "items" menu
- Added Sulfur Cubes are immune to Phage and Withering
- Added Top Hat. Works as a hat and a bundle. It cannot be dyed. The height of the hat when worn changes depending on the fullness of the bundle. Found on infected citadels and worn by Elegant Zombies. When worn by Armor Stands, they will add a wooden head to the stand. They will protect zombified players from the sun
- Changed electric discharges damage is now armor-dependent. Gold, Iron and Netherite changes the damage to 1, 2 and 5 HP respectively. The base discharge damage is still 3 HP
- Changed Infection process. Added a phage buildup meter: players can now be hit a few times before the zombification process starts. The buildup meter can be decreased by eating golden food. Death resets all zombification stats, including buildup.
- Changed Light Sensors and Bee Counters don't count as oxidisable items
- Changed Mount Catalyst enchantment mimics the rider's enchantments closer to vanilla. Horses are no longer lavaproof, frost walker updates on location change and never while the entity is in the air
- Changed Mount Catalyst now take enchantments from any passenger, not just the controller
- Changed the infection clock will only remind the player every 30 seconds, unless it has less than 60 seconds until zombification
- Changed Zombie Villagers keep their equipment when unzombified. This opens the possibility of villagers with witch hats or wandering trader headgear
- Changed zombification on illagers. Witches will turn into cleric swamp villagers. Wandering traders will turn into desert unemployed villagers. Other illagers will become plains nitwit villagers as before
- Enhanced all checks for Broth Cauldrons. Implemented load balancer to spread cauldron temperature checks along 20 ticks, instead of performing all checks on the same tick
- Fixed Ancient Shield config menu was referring the item as "Amethyst Shield"
- Fixed Broth Cauldron with Debug Stick interaction changes were being reverted after scooping the broth
- Fixed Broth Cauldrons were taking custom items that used food items as the base. They will now only take those item's values if said item has both "custom_data" and "food" components
- Fixed Copper Armor wasn't oxidising when worn by entities other than players
- Fixed custom items from datapacks that had copper gear items as a base item would undergo oxidisation
- Fixed zombifying wandering traders kept their trades, making them unzombify into nitwits with trades
- Removed day counter title when first joining the game
- Removed zombified player health decrease
- Reverted mineshafts to vanilla generation

- Added piglets spawned by breeding will have the same variant as the closest adult pig

- Added using a debug stick on a broth cauldron interaction will cycle between stain stages

- Changed fishing system no longer replaces the vanilla loot table. Changed to an advancement-controlled system that will be interrupted if the reeled fish item has custom data
- Changed Mirage Displays interaction responses don't have hitting noises anymore
- Changed Novice Fishermen sells two random fish in exchange for a local fish variant and emeralds. Previously, they always traded Koi

- Added advancements: "Cooking Pot", "A Warm Meal", "Witch" and "Scrub Scrub Scrub"
- Added Broth Cauldrons broken with water still inside will extinguish the block below
- Added Broth Cauldrons can now hold multiple potion effects. A potion increases the cauldron's water level by 1, and cannot be dilluted on empty cauldrons. The duration of a potion is divided proportionally in every serving taken from the cauldron
- Added broth cauldrons will become dirty when scooping its contents. It has 3 stages. It's just decorative, and can be cleaned by interacting with the cauldron using a wet sponge when the cauldron is empty
- Added Broth Cauldrons with potions give off status effect particles
- Added Cakes can be used in broth cauldrons
- Added Copper Torches can be used to warm up broth cauldrons as a dim source
- Added food with inherent status effects can pass those to the Broth Cauldron they're added in. Each item added will increase the duration of the effect existing in that broth. Items that won't transfer their status effects to the broth: pufferfish, raw chicken
- Added Honey Bottles negate poison in broth cauldrons
- Added interacting with a broth cauldron without a compatible item will move the ladle around, stirring the broth. Stirring repeatedly will shorten the cooking time
- Added Milk Buckets can be used to remove all effects from a Broth Cauldron. Milk doesn't increase the water level of the cauldron
- Added Ominous Bottles can be emptied on broth cauldrons to add the bad omen effect
- Added Phantom Menbranes can be added to broth cauldrons that contain potions to hide the status effect particles
- Added redstone particles can be used to warm up broth cauldrons to halfway the boiling point. Only for decorative purposes
- Changed "Greedy Gut" advancement's parent is now "A Warm Meal"
- Changed Enchanter Guide's enchantment pool. It can now provide a wider range of enchantment levels
- Changed Enchanter Guides now show the level of the rolled enchantment
- Fixed Nether Fortress towers were carving big air pockets in the outer walls

- Added Skeleton Cats, Chickens, Cows, Pigs and Frogs. Obtained when a zombified mob of their respective type rots away
- Added Withered Skeleton Cats, Chickens, Cows, Pigs and Frogs. Obtained when their respective skeleton variant withers in the nether
- Added wolves and cats that spawn with Wandering Traders are the Trader's pets and cannot be tamed

- Added Shields to Nether Fortress weaponsmith chests
- Added stripping Pale Oak logs has a 1% chance of dropping 1 resin clump
- Added stripping wooden logs has a 10% chance of dropping 1 stick
- Added Warped Gall. Obtainable when stripping Warped Stem. It can be also found in Piglin Crevices and Fortresses. It removes 5 minutes of withering, while granting 7 of warped poisoning
- Changed Copper Horse Armor base item to iron horse armor
- Changed Fire Springs can appear on blackstone, gilded blacktone and nylium blocks.
- Changed models for trimmed copper, elegant and stray gear
- Changed outer walls of Nether Fortresses now touch the terrain instead of leaving a giant gap
