• Waypoint redesign — the waypoint label has been completely redesigned. It now shows a small cyan square, the chest name next to it, the distance below, and a fading line connecting it to the chest's position. Much smaller and cleaner than before.

✨ New Features

🧭 3D Waypoint Navigation

• The compass strip has been replaced with a 3D world-space waypoint. When you navigate to a chest, a floating label appears directly above it in the world showing the chest name, an icon and the distance.
• The label scales dynamically — it grows as you get closer and shrinks as you move away, always staying readable.
• When the target chest is off-screen, a directional arrow appears at the screen edge pointing toward it, with the chest name and distance shown below.
• The waypoint fades out smoothly when you get within 8 blocks and disappears at 3 blocks, preventing obstruction right before arrival.
• On arrival (within 5 blocks), a "Destination Reached!" toast appears and the waypoint clears automatically.

⚙️ Settings Screen (Mod Menu + Cloth Config)

• StashFinder now has a dedicated in-game settings screen, accessible from Mod Menu.
• No more manually editing config.json.
• Available settings:
  • Chest Indexing — toggle indexing on/off without removing the mod
  • Max Search Results — visible rows in search overlay (1–12, default 4)
  • Max Search History — remembered searches per world (1–20, default 8)
  • Toast Notifications — toggle on/off
  • Toast Position — Top Left / Top Right / Bottom Left / Bottom Right
  • Compass Position — Top Left / Top Right
  • Keybinds — redirects to Options → Controls

🔧 Fixes

• Toast notifications now work correctly — toasts were previously only visible while a chest was open. They now appear at all times.
• Toast redesign — plain text with slow fade-out (800ms), no background box.
• Double chest slot grid alignment — slots no longer overflow the right panel in Chest Records.
• Sort menu visibility — sort dropdown was invisible when search history was empty. Fixed by expanding overlay height when the menu is open.
• Chest Records scroll — list now scrolls correctly with mouse wheel and arrow keys. A scrollbar is shown when there are more chests than fit on screen. Deleting a chest now correctly updates the list without requiring a screen reopen.

StashFinder is a lightweight, client-side Fabric mod that automatically indexes every chest you open, so you can instantly search for any item and navigate directly to it.

📦 Automatic Chest Indexing

• Every chest you open is silently indexed in the background — no extra steps needed
• Chest contents are updated automatically on each open
• If contents haven't changed since last open, the chest is skipped (no unnecessary writes)
• Supports single and double chests
• Data is stored per-world at .minecraft/config/stashfinder/<world>/chests.json
• Corrupted data files are automatically backed up to chests.json.bak

🔍 Search Overlay [F]

• Press F to open a compact search overlay
• Live filtering as you type — results appear instantly
• Results show item icon, quantity, chest name, coordinates, distance and direction arrow
• Results from your current dimension are prioritized — chests in other dimensions appear below, dimmed
• Scroll through results with ↑ ↓ or the mouse wheel — up to 4 rows visible at once with a scrollbar
• Press Enter or click a result to start navigating to that chest

🔃 Sort Button

• A sort button in the top-right of the search overlay lets you change result ordering
• Four modes:
  • 📍 Nearest first — closest chest at the top (default)
  • 📅 Recently indexed — last opened chest at the top
  • 🔢 Most items — fullest chest at the top
  • 🔤 Alphabetical — sorted by chest name
• Sort preference is saved per world and persists between sessions

🕐 Search History

• Recent searches are shown when the overlay is empty
• Click a history entry or press Enter to re-apply it instantly
• Remove individual entries with the ✕ button
• History is saved per world (up to 8 entries by default)

🗂 Chest Records Screen [G]

• Press G to open the full chest records screen
• Left panel: scrollable list of all indexed chests with name, coordinates and distance
• Scroll with mouse wheel or ↑ ↓ keys — scrollbar appears when list overflows
• Right panel: full 27 or 54 slot grid showing exact chest contents
• Hover over any slot to see item name and quantity as a tooltip
• Dimension badge (Overworld / Nether / The End) shown in the top-right corner
• Last updated timestamp shown below the slot grid

✏️ Renaming Chests

• Click the ✏ button next to any chest in the records list to rename it
• Custom names appear in search results, the compass HUD and the records list
• Max 32 characters — clear the name to revert to auto-assigned number (e.g. Chest #3)

🗑️ Deleting Records

• Delete any chest record with confirmation from the records screen
• Deleting a record only removes it from StashFinder's data — the chest in the world is unaffected
• If you open the chest again it will be re-indexed automatically

🧭 Navigation HUD

• After selecting a chest, a compass strip appears at the top-center of the screen
• The strip shows cardinal directions and a cyan marker pointing toward the target chest
• When the target is off-screen, a ◀ or ▶ arrow appears at the strip edge
• An info bar below shows the chest name and distance in meters
• Auto-clears when you come within 5 blocks — shows a "Destination Reached!" toast

🔔 Toast Notifications

• A subtle text notification appears on screen when a chest is indexed or updated
• Chest Indexed (green) — first time a chest is opened
• Chest Updated (cyan) — chest was previously indexed and contents changed
• Destination Reached! (green) — arrived within 5 blocks of navigation target
• Stacks repeated toasts with a ×N counter
• Slow fade-out (800ms) — no background box, clean overlay
