Starry Express is an addon mod for WATHE by doctor4t. To learn how to play WATHE alongside addon mods like this one, check out agmas' video:

This mod is intended to be played in the WATHE Modpack alongside other addon mods, like Stupid Express and Noelle's Roles, but it will work just fine without other addon mods installed.

Guidebook-Supported Addon Mods

Roles

Starstruck [Civilian]

  • Become Starstruck once every 90 (configurable) seconds.
  • While Starstruck, move faster and see players through walls with passive instinct- but your role will be revealed to everyone nearby!
  • Shorten your ability cooldown by 5 (configurable) seconds every time you complete a task.

Muzzler [Killer]

  • Purchase Tape for 75 coins. Then use that tape to silence other players!
  • Silenced players must be clicked 5 times to have their tape removed.
    • Each click takes some of their mood- if they drop to 0 because of this, they die.
  • Silenced players suffocate if left outside for too long.

For Server Owners

Configuration

Starry Express aims to be as configurable as possible, and thus, contains server-sided config for server owners to change to their heart's content.

You can find this config at config/starexpress-server.json5 in your server's files.

If, for whatever reason, you wish to play with Starry Express in a singleplayer instance, your client's config options will be used instead. Your client-sided options can be found in the same place as if they were on a server.

When joining a server, your client's config options will not be overridden, but detached from the proper config instead, and thus, completely ignored.

    • Tape now only replaces the revolver in the shop.
    • Tape application sound effects are now client-sided(?).

Roles

  • Muzzler (NEW!)
    • A new killer role with the ability to completely silence players for 75 coins!
    • When Muzzled, staying outside for too long will suffocate you, and (of course) other players cannot hear your speech.
      • A hint will display to notify players that you are Muzzled after a configurable amount of time.
    • To remove someone's muzzle, you must click them a configurable number of times (default 5). Each time they are clicked, some of their mood is removed- and if their mood drops to 0 because of this, they'll drop dead from the immense pain.

Decoration

  • Jade Plush (NEW!)
    • My friend JadeCrystalHeart is now available in plush form! They don't bite, I promise!

Guidebook

  • Added an entry for the new Muzzler role.

Misc.

  • Added new configuration options for the new Muzzler role.
  • Added a new Tape item, used by the Muzzler to silence other players.
    • Huge thanks to Creepalotl for the Tape texture!

    • Configure options for the Starstruck and Allergic on the server! Now you can make everything just right for your group's playstyle.

      • Modifying config options on the client will only affect singleplayer worlds.

  • Renamed "Stargazer Plush" to "Circuitweaver Plush".

  • Updated Chinese Translations. [Qlickly_]

    • Chinese translations currently do not support dynamic text.

Modifiers

  • Allergic (From Stupid Express)
    • Gives random effects upon consuming a randomly-chosen consumable type
      • 1 in 6 chance to be protected from the next lethal attack
      • 1 in 6 chance to have 3 seconds of instinct
      • 1 in 6 chance to be poisoned
    • This role has been moved to Starry Express upon river's request.

Guidebook

  • Now automatically opens to your current role if possible.
  • Added a new "Quick Travel" tab that lists your current role and modifiers!
    • Clicking one of these options will take you to the Guidebook entry for said option.

Misc.

  • Added Chinese translations. [Qlickly_]
    • These are currently slightly outdated, but may be updated in future.

    • While Starstruck, gain increased movement speed and instinct.
    • Going Starstruck emits particles and plays a sound at your location, thus revealing your role.
    • Completing tasks decreases your current ability cooldown by 5 seconds if possible.

Decoration

  • Stargazer Plushie (NEW!)
    • This little dragon plush features both traits from NightWings and SeaWings... if you imagine hard enough!
    • Ignore the souls of damned dragons attempting to escape him when he's squished. Please.

Misc.

  • The Guidebook (NEW!)
    • The Guidebook contains information on Roles and Modifiers added both by WATHE and other addon mods!
    • The Guidebook currently supports Noelle's Roles (slightly outdated) and Stupid Express.
