This mod has received a complete overhaul, changes to the below are in bold.
This is a small mod that adds a new coal called "Spicy Coal". This coal is like standard coal, but more effective (crafts 12 torches, smelts 24 items) and it can be used to craft Blaze Rods. You can also make an ingot version which is used to craft Spicy Apples which restore 8 points of food (twice as much as an apple) and grant 30 seconds of Fire Resistance, a spicy helmet which grants fire resistance and 5 points of protection (people who used 1.4 remember this as the enhanced spicy helmet), spicy soup that restores 14 points of food, and a spicy sword that has low base damage but can grant the "Cursed Inferno" effect, which constantly sets you on fire and can be put out with water, but getting out of water will set you back on fire until the effect expires. Spicy Coal requires a diamond pickaxe to mine and spawns in the nether. (there's also a spicy coal block, it's just a building block and a better smelting option). There's also a few advancements to unlock.

You know how KrokoOnAir released a 1.14.4 port for Depressed Coal? Well, they ported Spicy Coal too! The best part? They're compatible with each other! Just like with Depressed Coal, not everything is the same in the 1.14.4 port. For one, the spicy helmet is part of a full armor set (and has been nerfed because of that), and the armor set bonus is fire resistance. Also, the sword deals 10 damage.

ok i swear this is the final one, just needed to fix a really annoying bug
the guide item no longer exists as mcreator has a glitch where large guis will have a glitched texture

this is the final update for spicy coal 1.12, support will be dropped after this point.
fixes: removed "iron with spice" advancement as it was literally unobtainable; advancements with this as the parent use the one before it instead spicy coal block now actually smelts 2400 blocks
changes: "a spicy upgrade" advancement is now a proper root; it doesn't get announced in chat and doesn't give a toast. it also got a description change. spicy coal ore now has particles and a slight glow spicy armor can now be repaired with spicy iron spicy sword can also now be repaired with spicy iron
buffs: easier spicy iron crafting recipe, only requires one spicy coal now spicy helmet now gives 3 armor toughness to make up for the nerf listed later spicy sword deals 8 damage now, since spicy coal is now a lategame material increased spicy sword's cursed inferno duration to 3 seconds from 1
nerfs: nerfed spicy helmet to only giving 3 armor due to adding the rest of the set
additions: the ore, materials, and material blocks all now use oredictionary added the rest of the spicy armor set, each piece granting an ability helmet grants fire resistance chestplate forces the weather to be sunny leggings randomly change coal in your inventory into spicy coal with a roughly 1/10000 chance per tick boots randomly set the block you're standing on alight with a roughly 1/1000 chance per tick (make sure to use the helmet with this for obvious reasons) 2 easter egg music discs spicy fluid, it generates in the nether but does not set you on fire, illuminates a light level of 6 spicy crafter, used to craft spicy coal and spicy fluid a guide for the spicy crafter "the spiciest coal", which is a joke item that burns for 1,000,000,000 ticks
just like with depressed coal, i trust kroko to improve on spicy coal and bring it to the newer versions.

Fixed a duplication oversight with the depressed coal compat that turned spicy coal into depressed coal ore, which could be mined for infinite spicy coal. This should now be fixed. (this patch was actually done by nyanminecrafter, not by kroko_on_air)

Thanks to KrokoOnAir again! Now Spicy Coal has a 1.14.4 version with compat with Depressed Coal!
