Sit Anywhere!

Sit anywhere you want! Look down, double tap sneak and right click and you sit. As easy as that. Or you can just sit on stair/slab or via "/trigger sit". Work on vanilla servers, or any other setup.

🪑 Sit Anywhere!

Sit on stairs, slabs, or literally any surface in Minecraft!

✨ Key Features

  • Server-Side Only: Install it on your server or LAN—players don't need to install anything to join and use it.
  • Datapack & Mod Available: Use the datapack for specific worlds, or the mod for global activation across all worlds.
  • Accident-Proof: Smart triggers prevent you from sitting down unintentionally.
  • Future-Proof: Designed as a lightweight datapack logic, making it less likely to break with Minecraft updates.

📖 How to Use

  • On Stairs & Slabs: Stand on top of the block and right-click.
  • Anywhere Else: Look straight down, double-tap sneak (Shift), and right-click.
  • Via Command: Type /trigger sit (v2.3.x+).

⤵️ Installation

📦 Datapack

  1. Download the .zip file.
  2. Place it into your world's datapacks/ folder.

🌐 Translations (v3.1.0+): Also place the same .zip file into your resourcepacks/ folder (and enable it) to get translated texts.

⚙️ Mod

  1. Download the .jar file.
  2. Place it into your Minecraft mods/ folder.

🌐 Translations (v3.1.0+): Built-in automatically, no extra steps needed!

Available languages (9): English (US), Français (France), Español (España), Deutsch (Deutschland), Português (Portugal), Italiano (Italia), 日本語 (日本), 한국어 (대한민국), 简体中文 (中国大陆).

  • After testing, I noticed that the datapack was compatible with 1.19.4! But there's no way it could be compatible with older versions. So it's official: the supported versions are: 1.19.4 -> Forever (I hope)
  • Added a condition for "global" sitting for consistency
  • Added a confirmation window when you click on "uninstall" in the dialogs

The translation update!

  • Completed the transition to make the datapack fully translatable. EVERYTHING is now supported.
  • Now with translations in French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese!

The translation may be inaccurate as I only speak English and French. If you notice any errors, please let me know! If you would like to translate this project into your own language, feel free to create the translation file and send it to me!

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Added uninstall method (/function sitanywhere:-uninstall)
  • Added settings (/function sitanywhere:-settings)
  • Added dialog menus! (1.21.6+) Accessible via the pause menu. You will find infos about the datapack version, supported MC versions, settings, changelog, links and uninstall button
  • Added translatability! However, it only supports English for now.
  • Made compatible from 1.20 to 26.3 with only ONE datapack! - 3 years of version support B-)

BUG FIXES & TECHNICAL CHANGES

  • Fixed for 26.3
  • Rewriten the whole datapack to have better naming, files, ...
  • Small optimisation changes in all selectors
  • Changed player position when sitting: now always sit on top of the block and not a little inside
  • Removed all advancement icons in 1.21.6+, all infos are in the new dialog menus
  • Removed changelog from advancements in all versions, you'll only be able to see it in 1.21.6+ with the new dialog menus
