Rose Bush: A Fabric library for my mods

Rose Bush is a Fabric library mod that serves as a dependency for my other Minecraft mods. While it doesn't do anything on its own, it provides essential functionality for my other projects.

For Users:

You probably shouldn't care too much, its just yet another dependency that you have to download... hooray.

For Developers:

I created this library to consolidate all the functionality I need in one place, it will populate over time, right now it just has a config system that tries to be different than other config libraries.

I generally don't recommend using it for any huge projects. There are many other libraries out there that provide the same or better functionality. However, if you're somehow interested in using Rose Bush, a wiki/doc is coming soon. (when the library is populated that is)

New Vanilla Settings API Update

  • feat: New API that allows for a modular way to add new option entries to the vanilla options menu, useful for one-shot mods like DebugGUIScale and RemoveAmbientFOV.

This API is added to remove ModMenu from my one-shot dependency, SpecSpoof and BoostedExperience are unlikely to change

Breaking update (Mappings migration)

Critical Bug Fix and Deprecation

  • fix: Config file will now be correctly created on fresh instances, even if the parent directory does not exist.
  • deprecated: Config(String configFileName) is now deprecated in favor of Config(Path configPath). Support for the String-based API will be removed in v1.3 (targeted for the next breaking game drop).

This is a non-breaking API update. Existing mods using the String-based constructor will continue to work, but updating is recommended for improved stability, clarity, and future compatibility.
