About:

Resourceful Refinement is an addon for Create which builds upon the gameplay loop for obtaining mineral resources, increasing your production outputs, and automating large-scale industrial processes. Instead of relying on overly-optimised cobblestone generators or vanilla mob farms that don't require player engagement or infrastructure support, Resourceful Refinement provides an alternative source for your basic metals which is renewable, automatable, and progression orientated, making the process of constructing your factory a deep and fulfilling experience. Through managing new fluids and mechanical processing blocks, Resourceful Refinement helps to bridge the gap between Minecraft and factory-game experience inspired by Satisfactory and Factorio.

Resourceful Refinement is an ongoing development process, that will slowly build upon its framework, and introduce new content and avenues for automating materials in unique ways over time. The aim is to design and implement new content while obeying three core principles; Innovation, Versitility, and Efficiency.

Major feature release: Paint fluids & Gels!

  • Use Paint Nozzles, or the handheld Hosegun, to turn any fluid into versitile gels with unique and useful properties.
  • Dye blocks like concrete, terracotta, and glass in large batches with paint fluids sprayed by a nozzle or hosegun.
  • Challenge your friends to a guerilla spray-painting match by binding hoseguns to fluid refill stations and display links.
  • Adjusted recipes and balancing around fluid refinement and fracking

Mechanical Blocks

Mechanical blocks

  • Mechanical Fluid Sieve: Dredge by-products from fluids passing through the sieve. Stack sieves vertically to improve their output rates
  • Mechanical Forge Mould & Casting Depot: Cast fluids directly into items on depots and belts
  • Blender Blade: Spin entities around or passively damage them

Fluid Refinement

Fluid refinement multiblocks & geysers

  • Discover naturally spawning geysers as you explore the world, which you can manually harvest yourself, or exploit with a Fracking Pylon.
  • Crimsite, Veridium, Ochrum, Asurine, Lava, and Carborax geysers spawn naturally in most overworld biomes or underground. Scorchia geysers can be found rarely throughout the nether.
  • Fracking Pylon: Extract endless resources from geysers, by turning water and kinetic input into molten ores using powerful Fracking Pylons
  • Fluid Refinery: Refine ores into efficient derivatives, or produce effective alloys and blends that beat mixer recipes in the Fluid Refinery
  • Molten Fluids: Ore fluids progressively improve as you proceed along their refinement tree, from molten, to catalysed, to purified fluids.

Spray Painting & Gels

Paint blocks & Hosegun

  • Paint Nozzles spray blobs of paint out in an arc, dyeing colored blocks, or creating gelled surfaces! Any fluid can be turned into a gel and coat solid surfaces. Some gels are speedy, some gels are sticky or bouncy, and some gels are molten hot!
  • Hoseguns allow players to spray gels whereever they like, turning any landscape into a colorful paintball fight.
  • Fluid Refill Stations provide an access point for players to refill fluid containers with ease, or can be used to bind Hoseguns to a Tracking ID. When paired with Display Links and Display Boards, you can track and display the number of gel blocks created by an individual hosegun, or an entire team!
  • Never sure how to get the last few pesky drops of fluid out of a tank or refinery without breaking it? Rest assured, the Plunger is here to do the dirty work.


Coatings

Coatings & recipe

  • Improve your tools and indefinitely extend their durability by using a Casting Depot and Forge Mould to coat your tools in molten fluids. Coatings act as a secondary durability bar, and each apply their own special effect while active.

Compatibility & Requirements:

Resourceful Refinement is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1

Requires Create 6.0.8+ and JEI 19.27.0.336

Known Incompatibilities:

  • Create Aeronautics should be used with caution. Multiblock structures (like Fluid Refineries, Sieve stacks, or Fracking Pylons) built on existing simulated physics contraptions work fine with little to no issues. If simulated contraptions containing these are assembled or disassembled however, the affected multiblock structures are known to sometimes break and cause crashes or leave behind indestructible ghost blocks. In the future, I hope to address this.

If you encounter any bugs or crashes, please notify me and provide a crash log or steps to reproduce the issue.

  • Fixed the fluid ports on Fracking Pylons not rotating to match the model visuals
  • Fracking Pylon tooltips now indicate if the pylon isn't recieving enough input fluid
  • Fracking Pylon Outlets now show an action bar message when attempting to asemble an invalid fracking pylon structure
  • Fracking Pylon tooltips no longer say "Not on a valid geyser" if they're not recieving enought RPM
