  • Update v1.3.0a's Thumbnail
  • An extended list of all the foods in this pack.
  • Over 30 foods to choose from!
  • Some foods are harder to make than others...
  • There are a few advancements for you to seek, if you'd like.
  • Are you up to the challenge?

Summary

An image of 27 of the foods available for the datapack

Want more food options in Minecraft than just Steak, Cooked Porkchops, and Golden Carrots? Or maybe some more drinks in the game?

Well, look no further!
Reg's More Foods utlizies the new Components added in Minecraft 1.20.5 to add new foods to the game! Currently, there are over 200 new food options, as well as several Advancements to look for if you're interested.

Everything added is completely vanilla--that being said, you may have some issues with mods like JEI/REI/EMI, or Spice of Life as they rely on items having their own Item IDs (more info on that in the Compatibility section)
Uninstallation is as easy as a simple command: /function rmf:_config will bring up a menu of config options, and selecting "Uninstall Datapack" will remove everything except for items. All you have to do after that is manually remove the folder or mod from your world.

Features

As of update v1.4, there are over 200 new foods items you can either find or craft, including:

  • Kabobs

  • Honeyed Apples

  • Cheesecake

  • Tacos

  • Burritos

  • Ice Cream(s)

  • Apple Juice

  • Hot Cocoa

  • Bananas

  • Pizza(s)

  • Cupcake(s)

  • Baguettes

  • Smoothies

...and many more!

Ever confused on how to make something, where to find something, or how filling something is?
Check out the Wiki page, or craft a Gourmand's Digest for an in-game wiki!

Enjoy foods all created with custom textures (made by me), which certainly attempt to capture the vanilla style! At least I hope they do! I'm not a pixel artist at all!

This data pack is also customizable in a few areas--type /function rmf:_config to see a list of options.
Alternatively, you can use /function rmf:_give_item to give yourself any custom item!

For progress updates on how the project is going, you can check my twitter page, bluesky page, or join my discord server.

PLEASE NOTE: This datapack changes a few vanilla recipes and loot tables for Quality of Life and to help the project function. Reg's More Foods is meant to merge as seamlessly as possible to vanilla, so players can just enjoy it alongside the regular game.
One loot table that may be important for some players to know is that Ender Dragons now have a 30% chance to drop a Dragon Egg when killed, as there is a recipe for the Dragon Egg that would otherwise be impossible to obtain in Multiplayer. Please keep that in mind!

Install Instructions

For Release v1.0 and up:

All you need to do is hit download. Both the Datapack and Resourcepack are included in the .zip, all you have to do is unzip it and put the zips in their respective folders.

Vanilla players will need to download the Resource Pack (it's packaged with the datapack), but the Datapack only needs to be installed once on the world you play on.

For the modded versions:

Just hit download. If you're using the Modrinth Launcher, it will automatically install in your selected profile. :)
Please note that all players on your world or server will need to download mod to have all the textures load!

If you aren't using Modrinth, you can download the modded version either here on Modrinth or on CurseForge as a .jar file.

For v1.0-alpha:

You'll have to open up the version manually and download the two files listed, being the Data Pack and Resource Pack. Clicking the download button directly will only install one version--so you have to manually do both. I don't plan on fixing this, nobody plays with it anyway.

Update Instructions

If this pack is updated and you have an older version, you can simply overwrite it with the newer version. Any items crafted or gained from the previous version will be retained, but their recipes or text may be changed when crafting them again. If any items have been removed or otherwise changed between versions, the data pack will handle it as soon as it enters a player's inventory!

26.x v1.4.1 ✅Primary Version!

The modded version of this pack automatically works with the AppleSkin mod, so if you have it installed you'll be able to see the updated food values.

Version 1.2.1 of the pack added improved code for better compatibility with other datapacks, so any other food-related datapacks should work with this pack. Any version below that might bring some issues.

So far, I only know 2 mods that may cause some confusion or issues:

  • JEI/REI/EMI-type mods rely on being able to read an item's Namespaced ID (ex. minecraft:apple) to display that item's recipe(s). Because Reg's More Foods is a datapack, and datapacks currently aren't able to add Namespaced IDs, they all share the same one. Trying to look up most RMF items will instead bring up a recipe list of all RMF items sharing that ID.

  • Spice of Life was reported to have issues as it also checks for Namespaced IDs to reduce food values for eating the same item repeatedly. Because most RMF foods share the same ID, they all get affected at once. A special modded version of the pack was planned but I don't know how to make mods. Once I figure that out I'll try and fix the issue.

Creating Custom Addons

Although Reg's More Foods is All Rights Reserved, I encourage anyone (and everyone) to go through the project's files, see how it works, and then create their own add-ons! The beauty of datapacks is in its accessability, and Reg's More Foods is incredibly easy to add to and edit. That being said, please don't reupload this exact project and slap your name on it. I will be sad.

An instructional video on how to create your own versions of Reg's More Foods will be coming soon. When it's done, I'll link it here!

Offically Supported Addons

Here's a list of some Addons I made myself, for you to try!

  • Disable RMF Sponge Crafting
Does exactly what it says--it removes the ability to craft Sponges using Cheese in Reg's More Foods. Great for server/realm owners who like the project but don't want Sponges to be easily accessable.

  • Reg's More Foods: Secret Menu (Coming Soon!)

Pretty much every other idea I wanted to add to Reg's More Foods that wouldn't have fit in the original pack will be stuffed in here!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make Cheese?

Where do I find Tomatoes?

Where do I find the Recipe Book?

  • The Recipe Book is a feature added to vanilla minecraft, and can be found inside of Crafting Tables, Furnaces, Smokers, and Blast Furnaces. Recipes for the Stonecutter are stored in the Crafting Table's Recipe Book, and can be accessed from typing "stonecutter" or the name of the item you wish to make in the search bar.
  • If the recipe you wish to find/make isn't in the Recipe Book, that means you haven't found the ingredients needed to make it yet. You can find the ingredients on item's page on the Wiki. (If what you're looking for isn't on the Wiki, send me a message!)

I'm using JEI/REI/EMI. How do I find the custom foods?

  • Please refer to the Minecraft & Modded Compatibility section.

How do I give myself custom foods/items?

There's a command you can run to automatically give yourself custom items!

  • For version 1.1.2 and below: /give @p knowledge_book[custom_data={item_id:(id)}].
    • The (id) area is for the item you wish to recieve, so an example would be /give @p knowledge_book[custom_data={item_id:apple_pie}] to get 1 Apple Pie!
  • For version 1.2 to 1.3a: /function rmf:give_item/(item) {player:(username),count:(amount)}
    • The (item) area is the item you want, (username) is the username of the player to give it to (supports target selectors), and (amount) is the number of the item to recieve. An example would be /function rmf:give_item/apple_pie {player:regfunkid,count:1} to give 1 Apple pie to regfunkid!

Version 1.3b and above uses the same system, but added a /function rmf:_give_item command to make spawning items loads easier.

  • The item ids can be found on the Wiki of each food item, as well as some other helpful information.

Credits & Attributions

All of the code in the pack is created by me. Almost every texture is also made by me, with a few being from Google. These few textures were gotten from there because they likely were exactly what I was looking for, were better than anything I could've made, or were placeholders.

If you would like to use this datapack in a video, modpack, or any other sort of project you have, you're free to do so! Just let me know if you or anyone else encounter any bugs or have any comments/requests! :D

Good to see you all again! This is likely the last major content release for Reg's More Foods while I work on the wiki and some other projects. From here on, I'll be fixing, improving, or maybe adding one or two features instead of like 20 foods every update.

This update, named the Table Dressing update, adds only 3 foods and 7 items--but among those items are Scythes, which are replacing the Hoe's functionality of increasing drops when crops are broken. They also have improved AOE damage!

There's a lot more in this update that I'm sure you guys will like, so check out the changelog on the Wiki!

If you find any pesky bugs, let me know on the issue tracker!

This update isn't really an "update" since it's just for fixing some stuff Minecraft 26.1 broke. Same stuff as v1.4, but with a new number!

The changelog is actually small enough to fit in this page, but you can still find it on the Wiki anyway.

Changelog

[1.4.1] - 2026-04-17

Changed

Misc

  • The rmf.daytime score is now tracked from players instead of non-player entities
  • The time_indicator function now tracks the rmf.daytime score from players rather than a non-player entity
    • This doesn't change anything or affect how it works, but it allows it to continue working since Minecraft 26.1 broke it between updates

Removed

  • Removed the rmf.daytime non-player entity as it's now depreciated

If you somehow find any pesky bugs, let me know on the issue tracker!

Hey hey people! Been a little while, huh?

This was meant to be a smaller version but I kept getting new ideas, so it's here now. I also had to check this on 3 different Minecraft versions (1.21.8, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11) which made this take longer.
Going forward, new updates will just be for one or two versions if possible.

This update adds Lemons, a new fruit you can find in Birch Trees! It also adds new starters like Peanut Butter (an ingredient for PB&J Sandwiches), and new uses for berries to name a few. Oh yeah, and a bunch of bug fixes.

Below is a snippet of the Changelog, but the full thing is available here on the Wiki like usual.

Shortened Changelog

Added

Foods

20+ new foods have been added in this update:

  • Added Lemons
    • Lemons are a sour fruit that can be found in Birch Trees (don't ask how it works)
    • They restore 3 Nutrition and 1.2 Saturation when consumed
    • Eating a Lemon will grant 2 hearts of Absorption for 15 seconds, but has a 40% chance of causing Nausea for 5 seconds
    • Lemons, after being consumed, have a 2 second cooldown between uses
  • Added Lemon Juice
    • Obtained the same way as other juices, but restores no nutrition or saturation when consumed
    • Used primarily as a crafting ingredient but can be consumed if you wish to be nauseous
    • Consuming Lemon Juice will grant 2 hearts of Absorption for 30 seconds but has a 70% chance of causing Nausea for 7 seconds
    • Drinking Lemon Juice applies a 4 second use cooldown on the item
  • Added Lemonade
    • Rather than a "lemon smoothie", players can now craft Lemonade
    • It is crafted in a Shaker Cup from Water, Sugar, and Lemon Juice
    • Functionally behaves the same as smoothies in terms of food values
      • Lemonade does not count towards the "Smoothie Criminal" advancement despite this
  • Added Lemon Pie
    • Restores 8 Nutrition and 9 Saturation when consumed, and applies 2 hearts of Absorption for 1 minute
    • Crafted from baking Lemon Pie Mix in a Baking Pan
  • Added Egg Rolls (Thanks lexia!)
    • Despite their name, eggs aren't used as much as you'd think in the recipe.
    • Consuming an Egg Roll restores 6 Nutrition and Saturation
    • Egg Rolls are crafted from frying Uncooked Egg Rolls in a Frying Pan
  • Added Peanut Butter
    • Peanut Butter is a required component of making PB&J Sandwiches, but can be consumed whole if you're in the mood
    • It's crafted from 8 Peanuts, Salt, Honey, and a Bowl
    • Consuming it restores 8 Nutrition and 5 Saturation, though it's better used for the sandwiches as mentioned
  • Added PB&J Sandwiches
    • Surprise! Peanut Butter and Jam Sandwiches have made their appearance!
    • This classic sammy restores 10 Nutrition and 12 Saturation when consumed, but takes 2.5 seconds to consume
    • It's crafted from (you guessed it) 2 Bread, Peanut Butter, and Jam
  • Added Glowing PB&J Sandwiches
    • Crafted the same way as their non-glowing counterpart, but uses Glow Berry Jam instead of Sweet Berry Jam
    • Causes the player to glow for 10 seconds when consumed
  • Added Banana Bread
    • Personally I don't like Banana Bread, but folks wanted it in so
    • Banana Bread restores 7 Nutrition and 8 Saturation when consumed
    • Crafting it requires baking Banana Dough using a Baking Pan
  • Added Toast
    • A simple "meal" to make, Toast can be made in a Furnace or Smoker by smelting Bread
    • Consuming it restores 7 Nutrition and 5 Saturation, but takes 2 seconds to eat (it's crunchier)
    • It can also be cooked on a Frying Pan
  • Added Chocolate Cake
    • Wanted more than just the slices? Well, here you go!
    • Chocolate Cake is crafted the same way as the slices were, except now you get the whole cake rather than 7 slices
    • Consuming it (whole) grants 14 Nutrition and 10 Saturation, as well as giving the player Nausea for a short time
    • It can be displayed in an Item Frame, though Glass Item Frames look best
  • Added Carrot Cake
    • Carrot Cake is crafted similarly to Cheesecake, but swap the Cheese for Carrots and the Milk for Vegetable Oil
    • Consuming it restores 9 Nutrition and 6 Saturation
    • It is displayable in Item Frames
  • Added Veggie Kabobs
    • Like regular Kabobs, a Veggie Kabob is just 2 veggie ingredients and a Stick (veggie ingredients are the same ingredients that can be used to make burritos)
    • Veggie Kabobs restore different amounts of hunger points each time they are eaten
      • Consuming it once restores 3 Nutrition and 6.5 Saturation
      • Consuming it twice restores 4 Saturation
      • Consuming it a third time restores only 3.5 Saturation
    • Consuming a Veggie Kabob takes 2.4 seconds, each time it is eaten
  • Added Berry Medley
    • Have a surplus of Berries and don't want to make them all into drinks? Why not stack 'em in a bowl and call it a day?
    • Berry Medleys are crafted in a Mixing Bowl from any 4 berries and one Bowl
    • It restores 8 Nutrition and 6 Saturation when consumed
  • Added Honeybuns (Thanks Hazard_productlover!)
    • A Honeybun only requires Honey, Herbs, Eggs, and Wheat!
    • It restores 8 Nutrition and 8.5 Saturation when consumed, and applies 30 seconds of Absorption I
    • It can also be crafted with Dough instead of Wheat
  • Added Pancakes and Waffles (Thanks cocosimpanator!)
    • Pancakes and Waffles are both breakfast foods that restore 6 Nutrition and 8 Saturation when consumed
    • Frying Pancake Mix or Waffle Batter in a Frying Pan creates 2 of their corresponding item
    • They are two seperate foods so both must be consumed for completing "The Gourmand" advancement
    • They are both considered "breakfast" foods which can be consumed to complete the "A Balanced Breakfast" advancement
  • Added Cat Food
    • Similar to Dog Food, this item can be fed to cats for fun
    • It's crafted from essencially every meat (cooked or raw), Bone Meal, and a Bowl
    • Unliked Dog Food, consuming Cat Food will not cause immediate physical discomfort but has a 30% chance to cause Hunger
    • It restores 3 Nutrition and 2 Saturation, and can be eaten in a pinch if literally no other better options are available
  • Added Bowls of Oatmeal
    • This breakfast food can be crafted just like Cereal, but swap the Milk for Water
    • When consumed, it restores 5 Nutrition and 6 Saturation
  • Added Bowls of Scrambled Eggs
    • Frying a Bowl of Raw Eggs on a Frying Pan will create Scrambled Eggs!
    • When consumed, Scrambled Eggs restore 7 Nutrition and Saturation
    • At the time of writing this, I still have trouble typing "scrambled eggs" without messing it up at least once
  • Added Oblivian Stew (Admin Item)
    • A tribute to a Minecraft community who invited me to join them, and allowed me to test my various dark and evil datapack experiments on them
    • Consuming this item restores 8 Nutrition and 9 Saturation
    • It can be spawned with the Item ID rmf:oblivian_stew
    • Tastes like sugar... yeah, we'll say it tastes like sugar.
  • Added Charged Lemonade (Admin Item)
    • If you know, you know
    • Restores 14 Nutrition and 20 Saturation to the brave
    • Has a 50% chance to afflict the user with Wither 3, forever
    • It can be brought into this world with the Item ID rmf:charged_lemonade

Items

11 new items have been added in this update:

  • Added Uncooked Sweet Berry Jam & Glow Berry Jam
    • Crafting Sweet and Glow Berry Jams now requires preparing the ingredients in a Mixing Bowl first, and then cooking the result in a Frying Pan
    • To make them, add Lemon Juice, 2 Sugar, the appropriate berry mash, and a bowl to a Mixing Bowl
  • Added Uncooked Egg Rolls
    • To craft Egg Rolls, players must first craft Uncooked Egg Rolls from Dough, a Carrot, an Egg (any), Assorted Seasoning, and either a Raw Porkchop or Raw Chicken
  • Added Lemon Pie Mix
    • The uncooked version of Lemon Pie, it's made from Lemon Juice, an Egg, Milk, and Pie Crust in a Mixing Bowl
  • Added Glass Item Frames (Decorative)
    • Slightly different from other decorative items, Glass Item Frames cannot be seen when placed and are invisible
      • This means that any items placed in them will only show the item, and not the item frame behind it
    • These are crafted from one Item Frame and a Glass Pane
    • When broken, Glass Item Frames are reverted into regular Item Frames
  • Added Glowing Glass Item Frames (Decorative)
    • Functions identically to Glass Item Frames, but has a Glow Item Frame's effects
  • Added Fire Extinguishers (Decorative, Thanks BabyPanda923117!)
    • A new piece for your kitchen (or base), Fire Extinguishers are designed to look good on your wall and not much else
    • This item works best when used with Glass Item Frames!
    • It's crafted from 4 Red Dye, 1 Iron Ingot, a Dispenser, a Bucket, a Smooth Stone Slab, and a Lever
  • Added Diamond Shears
    • Someone asked me once "what if you could make Diamond Shears?" and I found the question so curious that I added it. You're welcome!
    • Diamond Shears are crafted like Wooden Shears (but use 2 Diamonds) and have 1500 durability
    • They can repaired using Diamonds(WHAT??????) or enchanted with Mending if you're serious about it
  • Added Banana Dough
    • Used to bake Banana Bread, this item is crafted from 3 Banana Mash, 2 Eggs and either Wheat Dough or Taiga Bean Dough
  • Added Pancake Mix and Waffle Batter
    • These items must be fried in a Frying Pan to create Pancakes or Waffles
    • Crafting them requires placing Sugar, 2 Flour, Milk, and either a Honey Bottle (for Pancake Mix) or an Egg (for Waffle Batter) in a Mixing Bowl
  • Added Bowls of Raw Eggs
    • When combining 2 Eggs, a pinch of Salt, and a Bowl in a crafting grid, players can now make Bowls of Raw Eggs
    • Frying this item in a Frying Pan will then create Scrambled Eggs
  • Added Straw Hats
    • Although you won't be invited to join the Straw Hats, you can still wear this fashionable hat while farming
    • It's crafted from 4 Wheat and 1 Hay Bale and can be worn on your head or placed on an Item Frame (but it would look prettier on you)

Advancements

4 new advancements have been added in this update:

  • "A Sour Apple?" for obtaining a Lemon from a Birch Tree
  • "When Life Gives You Lemons..." for crafting Lemonade
  • "An Invisible Display" for crafting a Glass Item Frame or Glowing Glass Item Frame
  • "The Iconic Assembly" for crafting any PB&J Sandwich

Recipes

  • Added a recipe for crafting Peanuts (Brown Dye, Wheat Seeds, and Bone Meal)
    • It's obtained when the player obtains a Peanut for the first time, but can be crafted regardless of having the recipe or not

If you find any pesky bugs, you can let me know on the issue tracker!
