Qa Enchants

Adds a series of interesting enchantments for Minecraft, including some cursed enchantments.

Armor Enchantments

-Disciplinary Flash

Applicable to: Any Armor | Max Level: I

When an entity wears armor with this enchantment, takes damage, and its health drops below 35% of its maximum health, it will restore (8 + Number of Armor Pieces with this Enchantment × 1.5)% of its maximum health.

-Anvil Falling (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Boots | Max Level: IV

When an entity wears boots with this enchantment, its safe fall height is significantly reduced, and the damage taken from falling is greatly increased. The higher the enchantment level, the lower the safe fall height and the higher the multiplier of fall damage.

-Aqua Antipathy (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Helmets | Max Level: I

When an entity wears a helmet with this enchantment, its mining efficiency underwater is drastically reduced (nearly slowing down mining speed significantly).

-Depth Stayer (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Boots | Max Level: III

When an entity wears boots with this enchantment, its movement speed underwater is noticeably decreased. The higher the enchantment level, the more significant the movement speed reduction.

-Suffocation (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Helmets | Max Level: III

When an entity wears a helmet with this enchantment, its oxygen consumption rate underwater is accelerated. The higher the enchantment level, the faster the oxygen is consumed.

-Enchantment of Absolute Failure (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Any Armor | Max Level: I

When an entity wears armor with this enchantment and takes damage, it will randomly trigger one of the following effects:

1.Greatly increases the movement speed of the entity that dealt damage to it, lasting for 3 seconds;

2.Applies a 3-second immobilization effect to the wearer;

3.Applies a 3-second effect of "melee base attack power reduced by 1024" to the wearer;

4.Applies a 6-second laceration effect to the wearer;

5.Deals an additional damage equal to 50% of the wearer's maximum health to the wearer;

6.Resets the wearer's hunger and saturation to zero, and simultaneously applies a 3-second hunger effect.

If the entity wears multiple pieces of armor with this enchantment, the number of triggered effects will increase; if the same effect is randomly selected multiple times, the duration or intensity of that effect will stack.

Weapon Enchantments

-Break Effect

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: V

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it applies a "Toughness Reduction" effect to the target entity. When "Toughness Reduction" stacks to a specified number of times, it triggers a "Weakness Break" effect on the target that lasts for a certain duration.Entities under "Weakness Break" first take an additional "Break Damage", then become unable to move and have their melee attack power reduced by 1024. Targets will not receive new "Toughness Reduction" stacks until the "Weakness Break" effect ends. The higher the enchantment level, the higher the "Break Damage" value and the longer the "Weakness Break" duration.

-Radiant Transmutation (Cursed Enchantment)

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: III

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it consumes (Current Health of the Wielder × Enchantment Level × 10%) of the wielder's health, and simultaneously deals additional damage to the target equal to (Lost Health of the Wielder × (2 + Enchantment Level) × 10%).

-Blade of Laceration

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: III

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it has a chance to apply a laceration effect to the target entity that lasts for a certain duration. During the laceration effect, periodic damage is continuously dealt based on the target's maximum health.

-Blade of Weakness

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: III

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it has a chance to apply a weakness effect (reducing the target's attack power) to the target entity that lasts for a certain duration.

-Blade of Immobilize

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: III

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it has a chance to apply an immobilization effect (preventing the target from moving) to the target entity that lasts for a certain duration.

-Blade of Lifesteal

Applicable to: Any Weapon | Max Level: III

When dealing damage with a weapon enchanted with this (held in the main hand), it restores health to the wielder in proportion to the actual damage dealt to the target (the higher the damage, the more health restored).

New Content

True Damage Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Items tagged with #qa_enchants:enchantable/true_damage (swords, axes, and bows by default)

  • Max Level: 3

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: When attacking, additional true damage equal to 「Total Damage of This Attack × Enchantment Level × 8%」 is dealt. This damage ignores armor, damage immunity, damage absorption (shield), resistance (damage reduction), and all other defensive effects.

Attack Speed Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Items tagged with #qa_enchants:enchantable/attack_speed (swords and axes by default)

  • Max Level: 5

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: When held in the main hand, the higher the enchantment level, the faster the attack speed.

Health Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Armor

  • Max Level: 5

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: When wearing equipment with this enchantment, each level increases the maximum health by 1 point.

Excecuting Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Weapons

  • Max Level: 3

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: When attacking a target, if the target's current health is less than 27% of its maximum health, additional execution damage equal to 「Target's Lost Health × Enchantment Level × 10%」 is dealt.

Catcher Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Bows

  • Max Level: 1 (classified as a subtle enchantment)

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: After hitting a target, pull the target to the front of the player.

Explosion Enchantment

  • Applicable Items: Bows

  • Max Level: 4 (classified as a subtle enchantment)

  • Obtaining Methods: Enchanting Table, Villager Trading, Loot

  • Enchantment Effect: After hitting a target, an explosion is triggered, and the explosion power increases with the enchantment level.

Changes

Zy's Guillotine Enchantment

  • Adjusted Critical Damage Bonus Cap: Increased from 240% to 1200%

  • New Effect: Each time 1200 experience points are consumed, an additional 8% critical damage bonus is stacked.

Him's Echo Enchantment

  • Removed Effect: No longer increases the level of the Fire Aspect enchantment on swords.

  • New Effect: Increases the level of the True Damage Enchantment.

  • New Effect: Increases the level of the Health Enchantment.

General Adjustments

  • Optimized the description text of some enchantments.

  • Adjusted Enchantment Tag: Items that can be enchanted with "Critical" and "Triumph" have their tag changed to #qa_enchants:enchantable/critical.

Fixes

  • The Him's Echo Enchantment incorrectly appeared in villager trading lists.

  • The Triumph Enchantment could not be enchanted onto weapons via Enchanted Books.

New Content

Attack System Rewrite

  • Rewrote the player attack damage calculation system, covering the effects of more than a dozen custom enchantments, including damage bonus, potion effect interaction, durability consumption, health value interaction, etc.

  • Replaced the vanilla critical strike system with the mod's new critical strike system. Jump attacks can no longer trigger critical strikes; instead, critical strikes are randomly triggered based on critical strike chance. The critical strike damage bonus is no longer a fixed 50% as in the vanilla version, but will change according to mod enchantments.

  • Initial critical strike chance is 10%, and initial critical strike damage bonus is 50% (equivalent to 150% critical strike effect).

  • Note: This change may conflict with other mods that modify the vanilla critical strike system.

New Enchantment: Tempering

  • Can only be enchanted on chestplates, maximum level is 3, obtainable through enchanting tables, villager trading, and loot.

  • Mutually exclusive with Protection, Fire Protection, Projectile Protection, and Blast Protection.

  • Provides damage reduction effect equal to the Protection enchantment, based on the enchantment level.

  • When an entity wearing this chestplate is attacked by a player, for every 1% of health lost by the wearer, the critical strike damage dealt by the attacker is reduced by (enchantment level × 1%).

New Enchantment: Critical

  • Can only be enchanted on weapons, maximum level is 5, obtainable through enchanting tables, villager trading, and loot.

  • Mutually exclusive with Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, and Break Effect on weapons.

  • When attacking with a weapon enchanted with this, the critical strike chance increases by (enchantment level × 5%), and the critical strike damage increases by (enchantment level × 10%).

  • Takes effect when held in either the main hand or offhand, and effects can stack.

New Enchantment: Triumph

  • Can only be enchanted on weapons, maximum level is 3, obtainable through enchanting tables, villager trading, and loot.

  • Mutually exclusive with Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, and Break Effect.

  • When attacking with a weapon enchanted with this, the critical strike chance increases by (enchantment level × 10%). If the critical strike chance exceeds 100%, for every 1% excess, the critical strike damage increases by (enchantment level × 1%).

New Enchantment: Zy's Guillotine

  • Can only be enchanted on axes and only takes effect on axes, maximum level is 1, obtainable only through loot (fishing, chests, etc.).

  • When holding an axe enchanted with this in the main hand, every time you lose 12 experience levels in any way, the critical strike damage dealt by the axe is permanently increased by 8%, up to a maximum increase of 240% critical strike effect through this method.

  • When the enchantment is removed, the accumulated critical strike effect bonus will also be removed.

  • When consuming levels while holding the enchanted axe in the main hand, the current accumulated critical strike damage bonus will be displayed in the action bar.

New Effect for Enchantment: Him's Echo

  • When wearing any equipment enchanted with Him's Echo, the critical strike chance and critical strike damage when dealing damage are increased by 60% and 15% respectively.

Changes

Enchantment Adjustment: Him's Echo

  • Him's Echo can now add specific enchantments to swords. When the enchantment takes effect, if a sword is held in the main hand or offhand, one of the swords (main hand or offhand) will be randomly selected, and 1 level will be randomly increased to one of the following enchantments: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Unbreaking, Fire Aspect, Looting, Pure Beauty, Bonding, Lifesteal. Among them, the maximum level of Looting cannot exceed 10.

  • The continuous effect of Him's Echo will no longer increase the levels of Mending, Aqua Affinity, and Disciplinary Flash enchantments.

  • When obtaining Him's Echo, the initial level of all related enchantments is now 1.

  • The continuous effect of Him's Echo will no longer repair equipment durability, and the effect interval is related to the number of equipment pieces enchanted with Him's Echo. When only one such piece of equipment is worn, the effect interval is 120 seconds; for each additional piece of equipment enchanted with Him's Echo worn, the next effect activation time is reduced by 20 seconds.

Enchantment Adjustment: Break Effect

  • Optimized the judgment logic of weak point breaking and synchronized the display of death messages when breaking.

  • The toughness value reduced by each attack of the Break Effect enchantment is changed to a fixed value, which is equal to the level of the enchantment.

Enchantment Adjustment: Lifesteal

  • The amount of health restored is no longer calculated based on initial damage, but based on the final damage dealt.

  • Numerical Adjustment: The life steal rate per level is adjusted from 8% to 4%.

Fixes

  • Fixed the issue where additional damage from enchantments such as Disciplinary Flash, Epidemic, Infestation, and Pure Beauty could not trigger effects like Looting.

  • Fixed the issue where the breaking damage in the breaking mechanism was not judged as damage dealt by the player.

  • Fixed the abnormal issue where, in Forge 1.20.1 version, when this mod is installed together with specific mods, the player's maximum health would suddenly lock to 1 heart after a period of gameplay.

  • Fixed the issue where the Him's Echo enchantment occasionally failed to add enchantments to boots.

Effect Adjustments​

All negative effects of "Absolute Failure" Enchantments are uniformly changed to the potion effect format for display, allowing players to intuitively check the specific effects currently in effect.​

Absolute Failure: Hunger​

Adjusted to "immediately empties the player's hunger bar, and the player cannot restore hunger or saturation for the duration of the effect."​

Absolute Failure: Freeze​

Adjusted to "the entity takes continuous freezing damage for the duration of the effect."​

⚠️ Note: After the effect ends, due to in-game mechanics, the entity requires additional time to recover from the frozen state. Therefore, the actual freezing duration will be slightly longer than the duration of the Absolute Failure: Freeze effect.​

Absolute Failure: Burning​

  • The burning state applied during the effect duration: even if extinguished with water, the entity will re-ignite immediately after leaving the water source;​
  • If triggered simultaneously with "Absolute Failure: Freeze," the entity cannot catch fire due to the frozen state, but will still take a certain amount of burning damage.​

Absolute Failure: Suffocation​

Adjusted to "immediately empties the player's oxygen bar, and the player cannot restore oxygen for the duration of the effect."​

Bug Fixes​

Fixed the abnormal interaction distance issue for "Absolute Failure: Block Proximity" and "Absolute Failure: Entity Proximity".

Original Issue: After an entity triggers the above effects, dies, and respawns, the block interaction distance and entity interaction distance cannot be restored. Neither "death and re-entry" nor "quitting and re-launching the game" could resolve this problem.​

Epidemic

  • Enchantable on: Chestplates
  • Maximum Level: I
  • Effect: For each Cursed Enchantment on the equipment in the armor slots, the wearer deals an additional 5% damage each time they inflict harm.

Bond

  • Enchantable on: Weapons
  • Maximum Level: III
  • Effect: When holding a weapon with this enchantment in the main hand, each time damage is dealt, an extra amount of damage is added, calculated as: (Percentage of lost durability of the weapon + Sum of percentage of lost durability of each armor piece in the armor slots) × Enchantment Level

Pure Beauty

  • Enchantable on: Weapons
  • Maximum Level: V
  • Effect: When holding a weapon with this enchantment in the main hand, each time damage is dealt, an additional damage is applied. The calculation formula is: (Current damage dealt) × Enchantment Level × 3% × (Experience Levels ÷ 20)

Infestation

  • Enchantable on: Weapons
  • Maximum Level: I
  • Effect: When holding a weapon with this enchantment in the main hand, each time damage is dealt, the weapon consumes 20% of its current durability and deals an additional 50% damage.

Enchantment Adjustments

Absolute Failure Enchantment

  • Maximum enchantment level changed from 1 to 5.
  • Trigger Mechanic: When activated, the effect will trigger a number of times corresponding to the total count of this enchantment on all armor pieces worn by the entity.

New Triggerable Effects Added:

  • Sets the entity on fire for 10 seconds (stackable).
  • Applies the Freeze effect to the entity for 10 seconds (stackable).
  • Depletes the entity's oxygen completely and deals one instance of suffocation damage.
  • Reduces the entity's block interaction range to 0.5 for 6 seconds.
  • Reduces the entity's entity interaction range to 0.5 for 6 seconds.

New Enchantments

Qa' Wisdom

Can be enchanted on chestplates, with a maximum enchantment level of 1.

  • After a player wearing a chestplate with this enchantment kills an entity, the player's experience level will be additionally increased by 2. - If the player's level exceeds Level 39 at this time, all experience points will be lost and the chestplate will be destroyed.
  • When the level-up effect is triggered, the chestplate will be afflicted with Curse of Binding and Curse of Vanishing.
  • When a player wearing a chestplate with this enchantment kills an entity, if all other subtle enchantments in the Qa series are present simultaneously, Qa's Echo will be triggered.

Qa' Regening

Can be enchanted on helmets, with a maximum enchantment level of 1.

  • When a player wearing a helmet with this enchantment takes damage, they will directly consume an equal amount of hunger points to restore the health points lost from this damage. If the hunger points drop to 0 after consumption, the helmet will be destroyed.
  • When the health restoration effect is triggered, the helmet will be afflicted with Curse of Binding and Curse of Vanishing.
  • When a player wearing a helmet with this enchantment takes damage, if all other subtle enchantments in the Qa series are present simultaneously, Qa's Echo will be triggered.

Qa' Blessing

Can be enchanted on boots, with a maximum enchantment level of 1.

  • When a player wears boots with this enchantment, two enchantments (which may be curse enchantments) will be added to a random piece of equipment in their armor slot every 20 seconds. If the added enchantment duplicates an existing enchantment on the equipment, the duplicate enchantment will be increased by 1 level.
  • At the same time, the level of one random enchantment on the equipment will be randomly reduced. If that enchantment is at Level 1, it will be removed. If "Qa' Blessing" itself is removed in this way, all armor in the player's armor slot will be destroyed.
  • When the aforementioned enchantment level increase/decrease effect is triggered, if all other subtle enchantments in the Qa series are present simultaneously, Qa's Echo will be triggered.

Qa' Enchanting

  • When this enchantment is obtained, all existing enchantments on all equipment in the armor slot will first be removed. Afterwards, each piece of equipment in the armor slot will be enchanted with the following: Qa' Enchanting, Forced Translocation, Protection II, Projectile Protection II, Fire Protection II, Blast Protection II, Unbreaking I, and Mending.
  • Helmets are additionally enchanted with Respiration I and Aqua Affinity.
  • Leggings are additionally enchanted with Swift Sneak I.
  • Boots are additionally enchanted with Feather Falling II, Soul Speed I, and** Depth Strider I**.
  • Every 40 seconds, the Qa' Enchanting will increase the level of a random enchantment on a random piece of armor in the armor slot by 1 (Soul Speed has a maximum limit of Level 5, Swift Sneak has a maximum limit of Level 8, and the Thorns enchantment will not appear).
  • After an entity wearing any armor with this enchantment kills another entity, it will additionally gain experience points equal to "current level × 3".

Bug Fixes

Issues in Version 0.1.2

  • When a player attacks a full-health entity with a weapon enchanted with Radiant Transmutation, if the entity is about to be one-shot killed, there is a probability that the world will freeze and cause a game crash. After reloading the world, the player will die directly and the target entity will take no damage.
  • When a non-player entity attacks another entity with a weapon enchanted with Radiant Transmutation, there is a probability that the world will freeze and cause a game crash.

Issues in Version 0.2.0 Development Build (dev-25w41a)

  • When a player attacks an entity with a weapon enchanted with Radiant Transmutation, if the entity is killed by the additional damage dealt by the Radiant Transmutation enchantment, the additional experience level effect of the Qa' Wisdom enchantment will not be triggered.
  • When a player attacks an entity with a weapon enchanted with Radiant Transmutation, if the entity is killed by the additional damage dealt by the Radiant Transmutation enchantment, the additional experience effect of the Qa' Enchanting enchantment will not be triggered.
  • The damage dealt to players by the Radiant Transmutation enchantment cannot trigger the health restoration effect of the Qa' Regening enchantment.
  • There is an unexpected delay when the Qa' Wisdom enchantment grants additional experience levels.
  • There is an unexpected delay when the Qa' Enchanting enchantment grants additional experience points.
