Essentially, this is a geopolitics mod. It is loosely based on the Towny plugin, but with other features and tailored for the SoDogCraft Modpack Poli-Nation.

That said, this mod still offers some great features, such as:

  • Live war mechanics
  • Claim management
  • All kinds of geopolitical actions such as alliances, non-aggression pacts, and more...
  • As well as a comprehensive GUI where you can:
  • Create your own roles
  • View your country’s status
  • Manage members

Additionally, members can also instigate uprisings under the right conditions!

Furthermore, this mod offers a vast array of features, is well-designed, and will continue to receive new updates. One feature that may be added in the future involves what happens to players who are, for example, surrounded in a claim during a war—essentially, more realistic warfare.

This mod truly brings the SoDogCraft community project to life with interactive game mechanics such as alliances, nation-building, and politics. Feel free to use this mod in your modpack if it suits your needs.

1.4.0Бета1.21.1 · 12 июля 2026 г.
  1. Bug Fixes & Cleanup

Cleanup of Incorrect Command Duplicates // The incorrect alternative command /rebelion has been removed. A suspected /war duplicate was identified as a false positive, as the Brigadier framework automatically merges these.

Fixed a display error in the war GUI // An existing error in the display of surrender progress for the defending faction has been successfully corrected.

  1. System Improvements & GUI

Optimization of the claim request system // Village mayors can now request claims without an additional nation role. The /claim request command without a specific village name automatically assigns the chunk to the user’s own village instead of the parent nation.

Expansion of the Village Management Menu in the GUI // The menu under /nation gui now allows users to change village ranks, manage and kick members, and appoint new village mayors via a new, dedicated permission.

  1. System Reworks & Balancing (Mechanics)

Complete removal of the teleport feature // The /village tp command, the associated teleport permission, and the corresponding server configuration option have been completely removed from the mod.

Restructuring of the Capital City System // The /claim setcapital command has been removed. The capital city is now dynamically defined by the highest-ranked village (Capital City). From now on, losing a war requires the complete conquest of the entire village rather than just a single chunk.

Adjustment of Conquest and Surrender Logic // The war GUI displays the surrender progress live as a percentage. Villages no longer fall simply by losing the village center; they now also require the conquest of a rank-dependent, configurable chunk percentage (0% to 90%).

  1. Documentation

Update to the project documentation // The README file has been updated in all relevant sections (commands, mechanics, permissions table) and expanded to include new guides for the rebellion system and the village GUI.

1.3.6Релиз1.21.1 · 3 июля 2026 г.

Bugfix: Village Claim from Nations Claim requests // Requesting a claim from the same nation now always works and no longer returns error messages stating that the chunk is already taken!

1.3.5Релиз1.21.1 · 3 июля 2026 г.
  1. Bug fixes: Corrections to the member and alliance GUI // The “Kick” button (previously blocked by a navigation bar) and the “Invite” buttons are working again; the user interface for calling allies to war has been fully completed.

Permission checks for claim and village commands // Commands such as /claim, /claim unclaim, /claim setcapital, as well as creating, deleting, and saving villages, now check the actual permissions of the role system instead of just leader status.2.

Performance Optimizations (Performance) Index-Based Query for Chunk Owners // The process of determining chunk owners has been switched to an index-based search with a system runtime of $O(1)$, eliminating the need for the resource-intensive search across all nations.

  1. New Features & System Enhancements (Improvements)

Administrative Commands and Uprise Chat Messages // Added a new command, /nation transfer, to transfer founder status, as well as security prompts (with the “confirm” suffix) for dissolving nations and deleting villages. Unrest messages now appear directly in chat for internal kills and at milestones (25/50/75/90%).

Queue for Claim Requests // A new request system via /claim request|accept|deny|requests has been implemented. Control is handled via the new permissions REQUEST_CLAIM and ACCEPT_CLAIM for individual players.

Live display via Claim Edit mode // The command /claim edit activates permanently visible chunk boundaries and displays live information in the action bar regarding the owner, rank, chunk usage, and conquest percentage.

Radius Expansion for Unclaims // The maximum radius for claims and unclaims has been increased to 5 chunks. The radius unclaim removes region chunks, skips empty areas, and requests confirmation for capital cities or protected village centers.

Village Rank Ladder and Chunk Limits // The commands /village promote|demote (PROMOTE_VILLAGE permission) allow for advancement through a 9-tier rank system (from Hamlet to Capital City), with each tier gradually increasing the maximum chunk limit (from 9 to 250 chunks).

New Basic Role “Civil Servant” // The bridge between civilian and military ranks. Can accept claim requests from superiors

Presets Updated // The basic role definitions now include the new permissions. New nations automatically receive all 7 basic roles, including “Civil Servant.” For existing nations, I have implemented a smooth migration process

Basic roles cannot be deleted // Protected at all three levels (data logic, GUI display, GUI click) — the new “Civil Servant” role inherits this protection.

Player heads are now displayed correctly with skins in the GUI by Nation members!

1.3.0Бета1.21.1 · 3 июля 2026 г.
  1. Bug Fixes

Page Navigation for the Permissions GUI // The permissions menu has been split into pages (maximum of 16 entries per page) and now includes page navigation (Next/Previous) along with a page number display.

  1. Content Improvements

Multiple Leaders in the Members Menu // Co-leaders now have full rights, including the ability to disband the nation and kick each other. The original founder is protected from demotion and must use the /nation disband command.

Securing Large Areas with Claim Radius // The /claim radius <0-2> command has been added to secure areas ranging from 1×1 to 5×5 chunks. Chunks that have already been claimed are skipped.

Free access to villages // Allows residents to join any village within their own nation without an invitation using the command /village join .

Renaming nations and villages // Commands /nation rename and /village rename added, protected by the new permissions RENAME_NATION and RENAME_VILLAGE.

  1. Rebellion System (Rebellion Mechanics)

New command chain for rebellions // Core command /rebellion (alias /rebelion) implemented with the subcommands create, invite, join, villagejoin, abandon, start, and info.

Rebellion Flow and War Logic // Automatic outbreak after 8 hours (can be shortened to 15 minutes via /rebellion start). Creates a new nation from participating players/villages and starts an automatic war. The death of the leader cancels the event.

Uprising Tension Meter in the GUI // New unrest meter (0–100%) in the Nation Info menu. Increases due to internal kills and active uprisings, and decreases again after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Friendly Fire Allowed During Uprisings // Automatically enables friendly fire within a nation as soon as an uprising is actively being prepared. It remains disabled under normal conditions.

  1. Server Configuration & Technology (Technical Changes)

New options in the config file // Integration of the new [rebellion] section and the global key nationsEnabled in geopol-server.toml for server-side control.

Internal code structure adjusted // Refactoring of 11 existing classes (including Commands and Menus) and registration of 4 new classes (Rebellion, RebellionManager, RebellionEvents, RebellionCommands).

Important Build Note for Admins / Hosts // Due to a lack of internet connection, the code was only checked manually. A local build via gradlew build is mandatory before deployment.

1.2.7Релиз1.21.1 · 3 июля 2026 г.

Fixes: Nation Player Minimum // If a nation has to less players, it gets disbanded in 2 minutes if no new players join or get invited. It now Works

Added Config: Toggable Nations // Nations can be toggeled in the configs to allow players to create Nations.
