PMWU-EAS

PMWU-EAS (Emergency Alert System) allows users to receive SWS/SVR [PDS & DST]/TOR [PDS & TORE] warnings in chat, along with overlaying warning polygons on radar.

Introduction

PMWU-EAS brings a fully functional Emergency Alert System to the game, adding Special Weather Statements, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (including PDS and Destructive), Tornado Warnings (including PDS and Tornado Emergency), Mesoscale Discussions, and Weather Watches into the game via chat and polygon overlays on the PMWeather radar.

Weather Warnings

Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado warnings can be recived through chat and their polygons are overlaid on the PMWeather radar. To receive a weather warning in chat, you must have the EAS Receiver in your inventory and turned on (right-click with it in hand to toggle).

Mesoscale Discussions & Weather Watches

Mesoscale Discussions and Weather Watches are received in chat. To receive alerts, you must have the EAS Receiver in your inventory and turned on (right-click with it in hand to toggle). You must have PMWU-AO installed to receive Mesoscale Discussions and Watches, as it uses PMWU-AO's sounding system to schedule their issuances.

PC & Self-Issued Warnings

Using the PMWU-EAS PC item, users can issue their own Severe Thunderstorm & Tornado Warnings. You must have a PMWeather radar nearby so it can be synced to the PC.

Cities/Towns

Users can create their own cities/towns that gets displayed in weather warnings instead of coordinates.

Support for all PMWU mods are available within the PMWU Support Discord server.

Extra

This mod is apart of the PMWU modline, which was created to add multiple addon mods to ProtoManly's Weather. All PMWU mods are compatible with each other, but they have not been tested for compatability with other PMW sidemods.

This mod has been vigorously tested, but bugs may still appear. If you encounter a bug, please submit it to the PMWU Support Discord server in a ticket.

PMWU-EAS v3.1.0

  • Fixed issues where custom warning polygons were not reverting to previous warning polygons when a warning was downgraded (SVR PDS > SVR would keep SVR PDS colors, and not revert to SVR colors if user has different colors for each warning type.)

  • Fixed issue where hover text for one warning was displaying as a separate warning (SVR warning hover text displaying as a TOR warning... This was due to storm caches since those warning types were correlated with a singular storm, now each warning has their own ID.)

  • Warnings displayed in chat and hover text will now take after custom colors if user has them defined.

There have been two updates since this mods publication, will immediately jump from 1.0.0 to 3.0.0.

PMWU-2.0.0

  • Adds the Tornado Siren with configurable frequencies between 659hz and 523hz, meant to replicate the USA sirens (Eclipse8 & 2001-130).
  • Adds Siren Tuner, right-click to change siren frequencies.

Tornado Sirens need to be within 2096 blocks within a PMWeather Radar to detect warnings, once in a Tornado Warning, they will activate for 29 seconds, then go under a 15 second cooldown before reactivating again. You will not be able to change the frequency of a tornado siren while it's activated, and sirens by default are set to 523hz.

Additions;

  • Option to change color of warning polygons (ONLY ACCEPTS HEX CODES!) - You can do this through the in-game "Mods" menu.
  • Option to change range of tornado siren sound.

Fixes;

  • Tornado Siren will now deactivate properly once it's outside of a Tornado Warning polygon.

Changes;

  • Removed console spam entirely.

Configuration files for PMWU-EAS have changed, and the old files will no longer work, all PMWU-EAS files will now be generated within the PMWU-EAS folder.
