Overlooked

Overlooked is a Minecraft mod that adds new uses, recipes, and mechanics for items and systems that are already in the game but usually go ignored. Hence the name, features that I believe were 'overlooked', to make it more immersive, and fun!

Overlooked

This is my second ever mod, and this time I didn't use any AI, so it is guaranteed to break, bug, or maybe explode. I'd love to hear what you guys think in the comments, and report any bugs, or even suggestions to add to the mod!

Overlooked is a Minecraft Forge mod that expands on items, blocks, and mechanics that already exist in vanilla Minecraft but are rarely used or easily forgotten. Instead of adding flashy, overpowered content, Overlooked focuses on making the game feel deeper and more complete by giving overlooked elements meaningful new purposes.

This is a mod designed to feel natural, like these features could have shipped with the game from the start.

What Overlooked Does

  • Adds new uses and recipes for existing vanilla items
  • Adds new ways to deal with mobs!
  • Introduces new blocks and mechanics that interact with familiar systems
  • Expands crafting, fuels, and processing in intuitive ways
  • Keeps gameplay balanced and vanilla-friendly
  • Designed to fit seamlessly into any modpack

If you’ve ever looked at an item and thought “why can’t I do more with this?”, this mod exists for you.

Design Philosophy

Overlooked follows three core principles:

  1. Vanilla First
    Everything should feel consistent with Minecraft’s art style, balance, and logic.

  2. Simple, Not Shallow
    Mechanics are easy to understand but open the door to deeper gameplay.

  3. No Bloat
    Every feature exists for a reason. No filler. No noise.

This is a quality-of-life expansion, not a total overhaul.

Current Features

  • Custom blocks that transform or repurpose items
  • New crafting paths for existing materials
  • Alternative fuel sources based on vanilla items
  • Resource processing that rewards experimentation

More features are added incrementally with each update.

Mod Loader & Version

Installation

  1. Download & Install Forge (1.21.1) – Get it here
  2. Download the Overlooked .jar
  3. Place it in your mods folder in (%appdata%/.minecraft/mods).
  4. Move momscreditcard.jar into your mods folder (%appdata%/.minecraft/mods).
  5. Launch Minecraft with Forge and enjoy!

5.5. or just, click 'Install' if you're using curseforge/modrinth

That’s it.

Compatibility

  • Designed to work alongside most mods
  • No hard dependencies
  • Safe to add to existing worlds (recommended backup anyway)

Development Status

Overlooked is actively being developed. Features are added carefully to ensure:

  • Balance
  • Long-term compatibility

Release Log for Version 0.2.0

This is the second public release of Overlooked.
Version 0.2.0 adds a few crafting recipes, interactive blocks, and tools! It was very difficult to do, I don't know what I'm doing.

  • Resonite Pickaxe

All have their own buffs.. for now they just do their job faster than any other tool... I need ideas
