🐉 Antique Beasts

Venture into the world of mythologies and folklore, encounter and slay a multitude of vicious beasts, tame fantastical creatures and become a legend of your own story.

Antique Beasts introduces a wide range of mobs, weapons, armour, mechanics, structures and animations, designed to make Minecraft feel more alive, immersive and challenging.

Some mobs and structures are inspired by Skyrim and Age of Mythology.

🧩 Key Features

  • 🛡️ Configurable patrols: spawn every 1–60 minutes, move toward a random location, and group-attack the player if approached (can be disabled).
  • ⚔️ Raid system: kill 20 Draugrs while holding a crafted Thuriasz Rune to trigger a 3-wave invasion. If successful, earn a valuable treasure chest.
  • 🔥 Nether-aware scaling: raids become harder if the player has visited the Nether.
  • 🧠 AI upgrades, combat synergy, and immersive behaviour for mythological creatures.
  • ✅ Fully compatible with Better Combat.

🛠️ Configuration Options

📁 antiquebeasts_config.json

  • "patrolSpawning": true → toggle patrols
  • "patrolSpawnDelay": 20 → interval in minutes (1–60)

📁 antiquebeasts_spawn_rate_config.json

  • Control each mob’s natural spawn rate individually (0–10)

📁 antiquebeasts_bonus_health_config.json

  • Add up to +50 hearts per unit (0–100 = +0 to +50 HP)

📁 antiquebeasts_armor_value_config.json

  • Set individual values for [boots, leggings, chestplate, helmet]

  • Villagers now flee on sight when they see monsters from Antique Beasts, like zombies.

Changes :

  • Little changes for the Dragon Priest Staff texture
  • The EINHERJAR_HORN is added to the Antique Beasts Item Group so you should be able to see it in the mod tab in creative

Bug fixes :

  • The Bow, Horn, Spear and Shield predicate should now be safe with Connector & Forge and shouldn't crash the game anymore

Antique Beasts v 1.5.0

NO MORE AZURELIB DEPENDENCIE -> AZURELIB ARMOR IS NOW MANDATORY (no more compatibility issues)

NEW CHINESE TRANSLATION (Made by @Trollcorn, thank you so much!)

I changed the name of some items so you might lose them with this update, you can check witch ones in the change section.

New :

  • Draugr spawn eggs have new textures !!
  • Melee Draugrs are now able to block incoming attacks.
  • Melee & Ranged Draugr can now spawn with potions.
  • New configuration files for the Draugrs blocking probability and spawning with potion probability.
  • The Draugr Overlord has now a spin attack, and can block incoming attacks.
  • New Dragon Priest Staffs that replaces the Greek ones.

Changes :

  • Draugr Raid number are no longer limited, you can spawn multiple ones.
  • Frost Shard -> Stalhrim
  • Frost Sword -> Stalhrim Sword
  • Frost Bow -> Stalhrim Bow
  • Draugr Bow -> Ancient Nord Bow
  • High Iron Sword -> Ancient Nord Sword
  • Removed Greek Staff Handle
  • Removed Frost Bite Greek Staff
  • Removed Frost Spike Greek Staff
  • New texture for the Frost Bite & Frost Spike Magical Stones
  • The Draugr Overlord has better loot

Bug fixes :

  • Draugr raid are no longer limited if another raid is ongoing in another world.
