InstaLoad

InstaLoad is a Fabric mod that makes world transitions feel instant. Join a server, switch lobbies, respawn, or load a singleplayer world without staring at a loading screen.

Features

  • Skips the loading screen on server joins, respawns, and world swaps. The world shows up as soon as it's ready.
  • Starts singleplayer worlds without waiting for the spawn region to finish loading (441 chunks on 1.21.x, ticket-based on 26.x). Spawn chunks keep loading in the background.
  • Network and world-loading logic keeps running normally. Only the blocking screen layer is replaced or removed.
  • If a transfer hangs, a disconnect button appears after 30 seconds so you're never stuck.

Which file do I need?

  • Minecraft 26.1.2: the x.x.x+26.1.2 builds.
  • Minecraft 1.21.x: the x.x.x+1.21 builds. Verified on 1.21.8+.

The builds are version-specific: a 26.1.2 build won't load on 1.21.x and the other way around.

Notes

  • Does not touch the resource pack reload overlay. If your server sends a resource pack, that reload is vanilla behavior and this mod stays out of it. Pair it with a dedicated mod such as ResourcePackCached if you want to stop packs reloading on lobby switch.
  • A normal client-side install gives you everything, including the singleplayer spawn shortcut. Nothing needs to be installed on servers.
  • This project is an independent implementation inspired by the "Optimized World Swapping" of Patcher in 1.8.9 and Fastload in 1.18-1.20.

Improves how server transfers look. Transfer speed is unchanged.

Mouse stays grabbed during reconfiguration

Switching servers no longer releases your cursor. Previously the cursor appeared for the whole "Reconfiguring..." phase and then re-centered when the world returned, which was the most noticeable part of a transfer on proxied servers.

This also means keys held through a transfer stay held. The mouse re-grab used to reset key states, so walking through a warp while holding forward would drop the input.

Smoother frozen frame

The frame shown during reconfiguration is now copied GPU side instead of being read back through a screenshot. It is ready on the first frame rather than arriving one or two frames late, so the default background no longer flashes before it on short transfers.

That frame is now filled with the scene's fog color, and dimmed slightly so the pause reads as deliberate instead of as a hang.

Compatibility

Nothing here touches the resource pack reload overlay, so mods that manage server resource packs are unaffected.

First release for Minecraft 26.1.2.

  • Ported the mod to 26.1.2 and its reworked world-loading code (the game moved both the loading screen and spawn preparation, so the 1.21.x builds no longer apply there).
  • Instant loading-screen bypass now covers server joins, respawns, and world swaps on 26.1.2.
  • Reworked the Reconfiguring... bypass: the mod now captures your last rendered frame and shows it during the transfer, so it looks like a brief pause instead of a loading screen.
  • Adapted the spawn warmup shortcut to 26.x's ticket-based spawn loading: singleplayer worlds start right away while spawn chunks finish loading in the background.
  • A disconnect button still appears after 30 seconds if a transfer hangs, so you can always get out.

Compatible with Fabric on Minecraft 26.1.2. Requires Fabric Loader 0.19.3+ and Java 25.
