Proactive survival alerts that watch your back while you play.

Heads Up gives you smart toast notifications for the things you forget to check — tool durability, hunger, health, inventory space, armor condition, potion timers, respawn status, oxygen, light level, and dangerous weather. It only speaks up when something actually needs your attention — and disappears when it doesn't. Zero screen clutter. Zero distraction. Just clean, context-aware warnings exactly when they matter.

The mod knows what matters — Fire Resistance expiring in a flower forest? Low priority. Fire Resistance expiring over a lava lake in a basalt delta? Critical. Same effect, different urgency — because context matters more than thresholds.

One lightweight, fully-configurable, client-side mod — replaces Durability Alerts, InventoryFullAlert, Pot Alert, and more. Works on vanilla servers, Realms, and Hypixel — zero server setup, zero dependencies headaches. MIT licensed, modpack-friendly, and ships with battle-tested defaults right out of the box.

Heads Up v1.0.0 — Initial Release

Your smartwatch for Minecraft. Heads Up watches your back while you play, giving you clean toast notifications only when something actually needs your attention. No more broken diamond pickaxes. No more starving to death mid-build. No more dying 3,000 blocks from spawn with no bed set.

Replaces 5+ separate mods with one unified, lightweight, fully configurable package.

Alert Types

Durability Alerts Warns you when any tool, weapon, or armor piece in your hotbar, offhand, or armor slots gets low. First warning at 20% remaining, critical alert at 5%, and a final "about to break" catch at ≤3 durability points. Includes a visual durability bar on the toast and color-coded severity (green → yellow → orange → red).

Hunger Alerts Notifies you when food gets low, with a smart suggestion showing the best food in your inventory to eat. Warns if you have no food at all.

Health Alerts Low health warnings at configurable thresholds. Never get caught off guard at half a heart again.

Inventory Alerts Tracks how full your inventory is. Warns at 75%, alerts at 90%, and when completely full, suggests your lowest-value items to drop.

Armor Alerts Monitors total armor durability. Instant notification when an armor piece breaks mid-combat.

Respawn Point Alerts Reminds you to set a bed when you're far from spawn with no respawn point. Re-reminds every 1,000 blocks traveled. Warns when entering a new dimension without a local respawn.

Potion Effect Expiry Alerts Context-aware warnings when beneficial effects are about to expire. Fire Resistance expiring is LOW priority in the Overworld but CRITICAL in the Nether. Water Breathing is CRITICAL when you're underwater. The mod knows the difference.

Oxygen Alerts Warns when your air supply is running low while underwater.

Light Level Alerts Gentle nudge when you've been standing in a mob-spawnable light level for more than 3 seconds. Debounced so it doesn't spam you while running through caves.

Environment Alerts Thunderstorm warnings, fire warnings when burning without fire resistance, and freezing alerts in powder snow.

Compatibility

Tested and compatible with Sodium, Iris, Jade, AppleSkin, JourneyMap, Xaero's Minimap, BetterF3, and all popular client-side mods. Toast position is configurable to avoid overlap with minimaps and other HUD elements.
