Goety: Mastery of Magic is an addon for Goety focused on alternative progression paths and extensions of the magic system.

The mod introduces Masteries, one for each school of magic. Each Mastery has three levels: every level increases spell potency, while higher levels grant the effects of the corresponding crowns and robes. Masteries are unlocked through rituals that often require sacrificing powerful servants related to the chosen magic type.

The addon also expands Focus Bag mechanics, allowing wands to bind to a specific bag or pack. When multiple bags are carried, the wand always accesses the bound one. This system is compatible with Sophisticated Backpacks and is intended to support more flexible and varied spellcasting setups.A new material, Lazethyst, can be crafted from Amethyst and Lapis Lazuli. Through rituals, Lazethyst can be turned into Runed Lazethyst Blocks, autonomous spellcasting constructs powered by Soul Energy and redstone. When a Focus is placed inside, the block copies its spell and stats and casts it on nearby enemies, simulating a player cast.

Runed Lazethyst Blocks operate in multiple range modes and can be further refined into specialized variants aligned with different magic schools, causing spells to behave as if cast using the corresponding staff. Most Goety spells are supported, with configuration options available to exclude incompatible focuses.

Hotfix Update:

Fixed an issue where the Soul Barrier spell was replacing waterlogged blocks. Fixed an issue where the Ring of the Forgemaster was incorrectly changing the equipment of already existing summoned mobs. It should now only apply equipment when the mob is initially summoned. Added built-in compatibility for Cataclysm armor sets with the Ring of the Forgemaster.

Added two new rings:

  • Sorcerous Ring: this ring completely changes the way Goety spells are played.

The ring has three slots, each capable of holding a Focus. Every slot is assigned to a customizable keybind. While wearing the ring, it is possible to cast the spells stored in the different slots using their respective keys.

Multiple spells can be cast simultaneously if assigned to different keybinds. It is also possible to use both the ring and staves at the same time.

The primary goal of the ring is to keep utility spells (Launching Focus, Flight Focus, Blinking Focus, etc.) always available during combat, reducing hotbar clutter.

The ring is compatible with all spells, but it will not receive the specific buffs granted by the various staves.

  • Ring of the Forgemaster: this ring is an upgraded version of the Ring of the Forge.

The Ring of the Forgemaster can be customized through a ritual, allowing the player to insert an armor set of their choice (which is consumed during the ritual).

While wearing the ring, the effect is identical to the Ring of the Forge, BUT the equipment assigned to summoned mobs will instead be the one stored inside the ring.

Additional Notes for the Ring of the Forgemaster:

Some armor sets or weapons may not work correctly with the Ring of the Forgemaster if they are missing the appropriate Forge item tags. These can still be made compatible through datapacks by adding the items to the corresponding tags such as:

#forge:armors/boots #forge:armors/leggings #forge:armors/chestplates #forge:armors/helmets #forge:tools/swords etc.

Compatibility can therefore be extended manually for modded equipment that does not properly declare its tags.

Added three new utility focuses designed to synergize with the Sorcerous Ring:

  • Soul Barrier Focus: this focus creates a physical barrier of temporary blocks in front of the caster, protecting them from incoming attacks. This focus is specifically designed to block dangerous attacks, such as those from the Corruption Focus.

  • Dashing Focus: this focus is a modified version of the Launching Focus. Instead of propelling the player in the direction they are looking, it launches them in the direction they are attempting to move (or upward if no WASD keys are pressed, downward while sneaking). This focus is designed to provide effective dodging without forcing the player to look away from enemies.

  • Fading Focus: similar to the Dashing Focus, but based on the Blinking Focus instead. It follows the same movement behavior, but uses teleportation instead (allowing it to pass through walls if the range is sufficient).

Localization Updates:

  • Updated zh_cn translations.
  • Updated pt_br translations.

Warning:

As you may have noticed from the contents of this update, this version introduces a large amount of functionality relying on multiple mixins and deep behavioral modifications.

While I fixed every issue I was personally aware of during development and testing, it is obviously impossible for me to fix bugs I never encountered or noticed myself.

If you encounter any broken behavior, incompatibilities, crashes, or unintended interactions, please report them as soon as possible so they can be investigated and fixed quickly.

-Fixed compatibility with Waystones mod, now flight should persist.

-Updated Blackstone Chalice's model.

-Added the Terraforming Focus, a new Geo focus that makes smoothing terreain much easier. Right clicking a block will smooth the terrain at that level, if sneaking it will lower the terrain of one block and smooth it. If you want to use the focus, I recommend trying it in creative to understand how it works properly.

A few fixes and improvements:

-Ghiaccio now has a far greater summon cooldown.

-Frost Monarch does not prevent anymore the player to fly.

-Frost Monarch does not disappear in peaceful anymore if summoned by the player.

-Now the Frost Monarch will be immune to his owner's time stop spell, also, he will launch a devastating series of punches on time frozen enemies.

Update 1.5.5:

-Ghiaccio remodel-retexture.

-Added the Frost Monarch, a new powerful mob summonable both by the player and Ghiaccio. The Frost Monarch is an empowered Frost Golem that can fly, cast magic and summon other Frost Golems.

-Retexture of most items and blocks of the mod: all the Lazethyst has been retextured and all the items. The only one still in need of remodel-retexturing is the Bloodstone Chalice.

-New "Homing" enchantment for focuses that shoot projectiles, this should make them viable.

-Fixed the fact that killing neoillagers / player's illagers and prisoners did not give blood in the blodstone chalice, also, for create users, crushing blood-giving mobs in the crushing wheels will give double blood.

Ghiaccio and Frost Monarch

Improved Time Stop's visuals:

Now animation of entities are freezed in the current frame.

Should work on special/geckolib entities too. Works fine on projectiles in general, but arrows may have a bit of desync for the client (it's only visual), I'm trying to improve that too, but that's it for now.

Also, made the cooldown for the Wildfire focus 30s instad of 20s.

Added music Disc and spawn egg for Ghiaccio.

Added the most recent chinese translation sent to me by Ur-Tsar the Glorious, I'm always thankful.

Old stats will be ported to the new system, so, players who had an already old existing world should have masteries and goblets restored. Added three new focuses: Fireshot Focus and Wildfire Focus. The main reason to add these was to give a bit of a buff to nether magic, it felt a bit undertone to me. The third focus is obtainable by beating the new post-Apostle level boss this update introduces: Added a new boss: Ghiaccio. Ghiaccio is a strong undead Apostle-like boss. He is meant to be fight with all the tools you have at your disposal. He has a lot of abilities and casts frost spells. I will explain briefly how his damage reduction works: he hes a frost shield that has a life of its own, the shield has a base life of 70 and can be damaged only by fire damage. With 70 health, the shield gives Ghiaccio a damage reduction of 80% to all non fire damage, this percentage is reduced based on the health of the shield. The shield regenerates health with time.
