Random Teleportation
DonutRTP provides a simple random teleport system designed for survival and multiplayer servers.
Players can use /rtp to search for a random location within the configured boundaries of the current or permitted world.
The plugin can be configured to control:
- Minimum teleport distance
- Maximum teleport distance
- Search radius
- World-specific behavior
- Allowed and restricted worlds
- Location search behavior
- Fallback handling
This allows server owners to create different RTP experiences depending on the world or environment.
Safety System
Random teleportation should never place players directly into obvious danger.
DonutRTP includes location checks designed to find suitable destinations before completing a teleport.
Safety Checks
The plugin can be configured to avoid:
- Lava
- Water
- Excluded blocks
- Unsafe terrain
- Restricted locations
- Invalid teleport destinations
Server owners can customize excluded blocks and location-finding behavior through the configuration.
Location Finding
DonutRTP provides configurable location-finding behavior for different server setups.
Depending on the configuration, server owners can choose between simpler or more advanced search methods.
Search Options
- Randomized coordinate selection
- Configurable distance boundaries
- Defined teleport radii
- World-specific search rules
- Excluded block detection
- Safety validation
- Fallback behavior
Folia environments can use asynchronous location searching to avoid unsafe blocking operations.
Warmup & Cooldowns
DonutRTP includes configurable systems to control how frequently players can teleport.
Warmup
A warmup can be applied before teleportation begins.
This gives server owners control over how quickly players can escape or move to a new random location.
Cooldowns
Cooldowns can prevent repeated RTP usage and teleport abuse.
The plugin supports configurable cooldown behavior that can be adapted to the needs of the server.
World Configuration
Different Minecraft worlds may require different teleport rules.
DonutRTP supports world-specific configuration so server owners can adapt random teleportation to different environments.
Configuration can include:
- Distance limits
- World restrictions
- Excluded blocks
- World types
- Search methods
- Safety behavior
- Fallback behavior
This makes DonutRTP suitable for servers using multiple survival or custom worlds.
Advanced Options
DonutRTP provides additional controls for servers that need more than a basic random teleport command.
Advanced options include:
- Teleporting within specific radii
- Defined region behavior
- WorldType configuration for custom landscapes
- Fine-tuned excluded block lists
- Configurable fallback behavior
- World-specific teleport rules
- Multiple location-finding approaches
Performance & Stability
DonutRTP is designed with modern Minecraft server environments in mind.
The plugin includes:
- Folia-compatible teleport handling
- Asynchronous location searching where appropriate
- Safe off-thread operation
- Clean reload behavior
- Clean shutdown routines
- Modern API support
- Logic designed to avoid unnecessary server-thread blocking
These systems help keep random teleportation responsive even on larger multiplayer servers.
Configuration
DonutRTP is configured through config.yml.
Server owners can customize settings such as:
- Minimum teleport distance
- Maximum teleport distance
- Teleport radius
- Warmup duration
- Cooldown duration
- Excluded blocks
- World restrictions
- World-specific settings
- WorldType behavior
- Location-finding method
- Safety rules
- Fallback behavior
After changing the configuration, /rtp reload can be used to apply changes without restarting the server.
Commands
| Command | Description |
|---|---|

Exact permission nodes may depend on the plugin version and configuration.
Installation
- Place
DonutRTP.jarinside your server'splugins/folder. - Start the server to generate the configuration files.
- Open
config.ymland customize the RTP behavior for your server. - Configure distance limits, excluded blocks, world rules, warmups, cooldowns, and other options.
- Run
/rtp reloadafter making changes to apply them without restarting the server.

1.5.1Релиз26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 · 21 августа 2026 г.
DonutRTP Patch Notes
1.5.1
Bug Fixes
- RTP zone no longer cancels when you jump. Countdown tracks the height where it started; jumping in place keeps it running. Walking out still cancels.
- "Failed to find a safe location" is far less frequent. Surface finder scans from the true surface (ignoring leaf canopies) and lands feet on solid ground.
Platform
- bStats metrics (plugin ID 33560)
- Modrinth update check for donut-rtp-and-rtp-zone with console warning and
donutrtp.adminjoin notify (update-check.*) - Confirmed support matrix: Bukkit / Spigot / Paper / Purpur / Folia on Minecraft 1.20.1–26.2
- Apache-2.0 OSS cleanup (LICENSE, NOTICE, README, contributor docs)
Behaviour Notes
rtp-zone.countdown.cancel-on-moveonly reacts to horizontal movement. Jumping never counts as moving.
Upgrade Notes
- Replace the jar with 1.5.1. Keep
plugins/DonutRTP/. - Optional new keys under
update-checkare backfilled by defaults if missing.
1.5.0
Store release covering early zone/safe-location work. Prefer 1.5.1 for the complete jump-tolerant countdown, safer landings, bStats, and update check.
1.4.0
New Features
- WorldGuard RTP zone — configure an existing WorldGuard region as an RTP pad
/donutrtp zone set <region>or/donutrtp zone set <world> <region>/donutrtp zone remove,/donutrtp zone info,/donutrtp zone reload- Trigger on region enter (ENTER / BOTH); no re-trigger while remaining inside
- Zone-specific cooldown, action-bar countdown, and messages
- WorldGuard is an optional softdepend — the plugin starts without it and only disables region zones
Configuration
- New
rtp-zonesection inconfig.yml(enabled by default; region empty until set) - Legacy
rtp-zonescuboid zones still work when no WorldGuard region is configured
Permissions

1.5.0Релиз26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 · 14 августа 2026 г.
DonutRTP v1.5.0
Bug Fixes
- RTP zone no longer cancels when you jump. The warmup countdown now tracks the height where it started, so jumping in place (or any vertical-only movement) keeps the countdown running. Walking out of the zone still cancels as before.
- "Failed to find a safe location" is far less frequent. The surface finder had an off-by-one that placed the player's feet inside the ground block, causing ordinary flat terrain to be rejected. It now scans downward from the true surface (ignoring leaf canopies) and correctly lands players on solid ground.
Behaviour Notes
rtp-zone.countdown.cancel-on-movenow only reacts to horizontal (walking) movement. Jumping never counts as moving. Leaving the zone always cancels regardless of the setting.- Surface scanning uses
MOTION_BLOCKING_NO_LEAVESplus a short downward window, improving success in forests, snowy biomes, and on carpets/slabs.
Compatibility
- Same loaders as 1.4.0 (Paper / Folia / Purpur family, api-version 1.20). Folia-safe: safe-location search and per-player countdowns still run on the correct region/entity threads.
Upgrade Notes
- Replace the DonutRTP jar with 1.5.0. Keep your existing
plugins/DonutRTP/folder. - No config changes are required. The
cancel-on-movecomment was clarified but the key and default (false) are unchanged. - If you previously saw frequent "no safe location" errors, verify your world
radiusandmin-ystill make sense; the finder is now more reliable within those bounds.
