though i intend for you to learn how to get to descent through gameplay, i thought i'd leave some info on how to get to the dimension for those who are lost:

to get to the descent dimension, first go to the nether as you cannot get there in the overworld. then, build a portal out of quartz blocks, and light it with flame. congratulations, you have made it to descent and can begin your journey

requires server sided portals mod and by extension cobweb library. the datapack will still function without these mods, but there would be no way to get to the dimension without going through the work to create it yourself.
