🕳️ Deep Dark Depths
Something is listening. You shouldn't have dug this deep.
The first thing you lose in the depths is your sense of safety. The second is your sense of direction. The third... is yourself.
Below Y=0, the rules change. The creatures down here abandoned sight long ago. They don't need eyes when they can hear your heartbeat through stone.
🔇 Silence Is Survival
Every sound you make is a death sentence.
The scrape of iron against ore. The crunch of gravel beneath your boots. The wheeze of a chest lid opening. They hear it all.
You've spent your whole Minecraft life making noise without consequence. That life is over now.
Sneak. Hold your breath. Pray they didn't notice.
📉 The Descent
Something wrong lives at the bottom of the world.

☠️ The Caves Fight Back
The stone itself rejects you.
- 🪨 Cave-Ins — One swing too many and the ceiling remembers it was never meant to be hollow.
- ☁️ Gas Pockets — Invisible. Odorless. You'll know when your vision blurs and your legs stop working.
- 🌑 The Darkness — Below Y=-48, light becomes a memory. Without a torch, the dark begins to seep in.
Some players report seeing things in the darkness. Movement at the edge of their screen. Shapes that weren't there before.
💀 Risk Everything
The depth offers gifts to those who survive long enough to claim them. Diamonds. Ancient debris. Echo shards that hum with frequencies you can almost hear. But the deeper you go, the more you have to leave behind. Sound carries further. Mobs spawn angrier. The way back gets longer.

🥷 Learn to Be Nothing
The masters of the deep move like ghosts:
- Crouch constantly — 90% quieter
- Use Silk Touch — The ore doesn't scream
- Build with wool — Sound dies in soft places
Some have made homes in the Abyss. Chambers wrapped in wool, lit by shroomlights, sealed from the horrors outside. They say it's peaceful down there, once you learn to stop making noise.
They're lying.

- ⚫ "Into the Depths" — Y=0. The last light fades.
- ⚫ "Deeper Still" — Y=-16. You stop hearing birds.
- ⚫ "The Deep Dark" — Y=-32. Something knows your name.
- ⚫ "Abyss Walker" — Y=-48. You don't remember why you came.
- ⚫ "Rock Bottom" — Y=-60. You found it. Now what?
⚙️ Configuration
Every horror can be tuned. Noise levels. Hazard chances. Mob scaling. config.yml lets you control how cruel the depths become.

🔊 Sound Detection System
- All player actions now generate noise (mining, walking, running, combat, chest interactions)
- Configurable noise levels for each action type
- Debug mode shows real-time noise levels in action bar
🎯 Sound-Based Mob Targeting
- Mobs below Y=64 hunt by sound instead of sight
- Deeper zones = more sensitive mob hearing
- Creepers and Endermen remain visual-only (configurable)
🥷 Stealth Mechanics
- Sneaking reduces noise by 90%
- Silk Touch tools reduce mining noise by 50%
- Wool blocks nearby dampen sound by 70%
⚔️ Progressive Difficulty
- Mobs scale in strength based on depth:
- Surface (Y≥64): Normal stats
- Shallow (Y 0-63): +25% HP, +15% damage
- Deep (Y -32 to -1): +75% HP, +50% damage
- Abyss (Y<-32): +150% HP, +100% damage
💎 Depth-Based Loot
- Bonus loot chance increases with depth (10% → 50%)
- XP multipliers scale with depth (1.25x → 2.5x)
- Rare drops: diamonds, ancient debris, echo shards in Abyss
☠️ Environmental Hazards
- Cave-ins: Mining can trigger ceiling collapse (5-15% chance)
- Gas pockets: Random poison/nausea when mining (3% chance)
- Darkness debuff: Applied below Y=-48 without light source
